Why the Owner Chose Private Homes

The location of this house is fantastic. You don't need to get into a car once you are here. We are so close to Main Street, yet in a quiet location. We also love the private yard in the summer. Rare find in an Old town Home.

The Unique Benefits at this House

We have lots of space, yet the home is cozy. Off street parking is such a bonus for Old Town. We like walking to Main Street and taking the free Trolley to the Town Bridge and hopping on the lift. We can also walk down Swede Alley to the Transit Center and hop on a bus to Park City Mountain Resort or Deer Valley. Shops, restaurants and clubs are seconds from our door.

Great vacation home for the summer!

We absolutely lucked-out when we found this home for our summer vacation! the house itself is lovely. There are several, well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is large and connects to the dining area/family room. Perfect for guests with or without families! The outdoor space is also very charming. We were just a 2 minute walk from the downtown which has great shopping and restaurants. You can walk to public transportation in 5 minutes and there is a great jogging path as well. We thought the house was just perfect for us. We took several trips to the ski mountain for all of their family activities and drove to Deer Valley which is also only about 5 minutes away. Great vacation rental and we would definitely rent again!!

My family loves the size of this property as well as the excellent location. We were able to walk to dinner each night and use the house as a base camp to explore Park City and the surrounding areas. Especially like the garden and game room downstairs. We will return in both the summer and winter!

Surprisingly good choice

I'm so pleased we stayed here. I was a bit worried from the photos - which make the house look small and a bit rough. Actually it is a sprawling house, with 4 bedrooms on 3 floors, which provided welcomed privacy for all 9 people. We took the upstairs bedroom which is a fantastic room with fire and 4 poster bed. Very cosy. It even had a spa bath. We used a sleeper sofa in the downstairs den (with tv etc) to accomodate the 9th person, note the mattress on this is being replaced so should be great for the next guests. Our guest found it a little thin. Overall, the house is very nicely furnished and comfortable. There are open fires and comfy leather furniture. Beds were comfy and there is plenty of closet space. There is free wifi and DVD / TV etc. These are all reasonable and worked. The hot tub was a bit tricky to operate and a pain to close, but once in eased aching legs and considering the rate for this house, is a real value add. The garage is good for storing skis etc and bags but did not work for drying boots due to temperatures. Note there is no real boot drying area which is a shame. The location is perfect for people who really want to hit the bars and restaurants of Main Street, no driving in! It is literally just behind main street and next to the wine store which is very handy! We hired cars (as we skied 5 resorts in total that week) and I must say, like previous reviewers we did have some difficulty digging SUVs out one morning. The drive way is narrow and the neighbors seem to park inconsiderately. If you are thoughtful, you can park here though, once you know what not to do. Ok, so overall, for the price this has to be one of the best deals in central Park City. And with Mary the agent looking after you'll have a great trip. She is super responsive and solved all our issues instantly.

Owner response:Thank you so much for the great review. I appreciate the feedback. We have the new mattress for the sleeper sofa! We have a new mattress for the family room sleeper sofa as well! Next I'll work on a boot dryer.

Excellent location for Park City

Guest: Chris (Chicago)
Date of Stay: 03/04/11 Review Submitted: 03/12/11

My friends and I stayed here for 4 days in March 2011. The location is amazing. It's literally right off Main Street, and walking distance (including carrying skis and snowboards) to the Transit Center or the Park City Mountain Resort lift. Restaurants and bars are all super close by. The actual house is surprisingly large inside, and the furnishings are all great. Lots of bathrooms, and good hangout areas. The hot tub was a bonus. I wouldn't recommend renting a car in the winter. Although the place has a small garage, the angle is pretty tough, and the very small inlet that leads to the house is pretty narrow and has a bit of an incline. The agent that handles the rental of the house was super responsive, and made things very easy for us. I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent location and great house

We just stayed in this house for 10 days. Very convenient. Right behind the top of Main Street so everything you would need to do is a downhill walk. Incredibly close to the transit center. The house itself is very nice. It has a main floor with two bedrooms a kitchen and a living room, one bedroom on a second floor and a lower level with a bedroom and family room. This helped make it feel "not crowded" with all the people we had staying. The kitchen is great. The fact that there is a bathroom for each bedroom is a huge plus. The windows are almost totally soundproof which is appreciated and probably necessary with how close you are to Main Street. Everything you could possibly want to do is within walking distance or a quick cab ride. I got the flu the last couple of days I was in Park City and was so grateful to have such a comfortable home-like place to stay and lay around and watch TV in. There is room for 2 cars to park. You have to be able to back out a small hill to get your car out but we found it very easy to handle. The agent who deals with the house is amazingly responsive and incredibly nice. She had the driveway cleaned, the walkway cleared after snow, and brought supplies we were lacking mid stay. She even had the decency to let me wait for my car to the airport for an extra hour while the house cleaners came for the next people because she knew I was sick. Above and beyond! I highly recommend this house just don't try and take it when I want it next.

Great place to stay for access to all Park City ski/snowboard areas and the town.

Guest: Canucks from Manhattan (New York, NY, USA)
Date of Stay: 12/26/10 Review Submitted: 01/15/11

We stayed at this property during the 2010 holiday season. We rented it so that we would have quick access to the various ski resorts and to the town. Access was great (although it would be even better if there was a staircase from the road that the house sits on to the main street but it is unlikely that the homeowner could actually do this - just dreaming) - the Transit Center is less than 5 minutes away, so is the liquor store and Main Street. We were a group of 5 adults so we wanted to be close to town without driving. We did not rent a car and if we had access to the driveway would have been tough with the snow and the angle it sits at. However, we did not need a car. Our only complaint about accessibility is that the grocery stores are further away (we took a bus there and a taxi back). The home is nicely furnished and the bedrooms and bathrooms are great. We also loved the fact that there was a separate family room in the basement so that we could all have some space when we needed it. We all had our own private bathroom which was important. The linens are good quality and there were plenty of towels for the bathrooms and the hot tub. There are two larger televisions and one small one in the master bedroom (which could be updated but was adequate for all we watched it). WiFi is pretty good but not secure - the owners should consider setting up a secured network as sometimes it was slow probably due to traffic and we felt uncomfortable doing any financial transactions over the web while there. We are readers and the lighting in the two bedrooms on the main floor and in the living room need to be bigger. And it would be great if there was some ambient lighting in the family room as well. Playing board games in the family room was tougher because of the lighting. The owner could easily fix this. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped and we had many good meals at the house. No Cuisinart though for those of us who like to cook. There are two blenders, a coffee maker and a toaster. Plenty of pots and pans as well as serving bowls and platters. The hot tub was a welcomed feature after a day of skiing and it was good to have a bbq. Both are under a canopy which made it very useful when it was snowing. The photos are accurate and the property is well maintained. The owner uses an agent and she was very receptive to our questions and requests. All in all, a good experience.
