The location is excellent and the house was amazing! From the beautifully decorated rooms to the comfortable coziness it was an excellent space to come together and relax and enjoy our time together. The view was breathtaking from the deck. Because of the home's proximity to the beach we were able to spend quite a bit of time there. It was a wonderful girls trip but I am going to definitely bring my family for a vacation! The owners were so easy to deal with and the whole experience was positive!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Sounds like a great getaway! Fun birthday memories! Thanks for the kind words and come back anytime!

My family had a lovely stay at this house. It is light and airy and beautifully appointed. I had high expectations due to the other reviews and pictures of the house but the experience of staying there went beyond what I had anticipated. My two young children enjoyed playing on the beach and the short walk to the beach and into town meant that we didn't need to use our car much once we settled in. We were blessed with gorgeous weather but on the one day is was quite wet outside it was such a pleasure to be inside looking out at the beach & mountain views. We hope to go again! P.S. - The small local grocery store in Manzanita is very accommodating and has an excellent selection of groceries an fresh produce. Also, Manzanita News & Espresso has excellent coffee & mochas!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are glad you had a wonderful stay and mostly great weather. Our son loves the creek at the beach and playing right there. Thanks for the review!

This home was perfect for our family gathering for a week in late July. The living spaces were well suited for a variety of activities - Summer Olympics viewing in the living area downstairs, reading upstairs in the spacious living room, family meals both on the deck overlooking the sea or inside at the large dining table. The beds were very comfortable and the house beautifully equipped. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and responsive. The town is a delightful short walk away, the Nehalem State Park is great for bike riding and hiking and is also a short distance away. We walked the beach, took day trips in the area, used binoculars to watch birds and just plain had a wonderful time. I can't recommend the house more highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind review. We do promise to make the Olympic experience available every 4 years so do come back :)

It's difficult to be objective when surrounded by such natural beauty, both without and within. The owners could not have done a better job in furnishing the home. Top that off with unimaginable views, and you have the recipe for the perfect location. Even if the weather was cool in the evening, we sat on the deck for dinner and wine, well past sunset--oh yeah, almost forgot the sunsets--wow! This is our second year. We will be booking our 2013 vacation within the next week. In Manzanita, don't miss the Great Northern Garlic company for crab and salmon (in season) and great Oregon Pinot Noir. Marci is the most friendly and helpful person. There are some exellent restaurants in nearby Cannon Beach. EVOO is a great experience--the chef prepares the meal in front of you, and dinner is limited to about 20 people--4 course with accompanying wines. Better stop now before I book another trip this summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Al! We were glad to see you back and that you had such a wonderful stay. We got some new knives this year since our knives seem to get lost like that extra sock in the wash -- so hopefully that made your cooking easier. We have looked at EVOO but haven't tried it and just may have to! See you next year!!

This home was perfect for our family weekend celebration of a special birthday! It is a beautifully appointed house with a nice ocean view. We were all very comfortable there and the favorite spot was the large window seat in the living room with the view! Lots of stairs so not great for seniors or small children.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I wholeheartedly agree with all the other 5-star reviews: this gorgeous home couldn't have been better. We loved walking down the beach to town, and the house was very accommodating to our group, which included two adults, two kids, and two grandparents. The view is stunning, and we all really dragged our feet when it was time to leave. Many thanks--we'll be back as soon as we can.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Glad to hear you had such a great time! The walk down the beach to town is one of our favorites too.

That this home is not booked every single day of the year is a mystery. It's the best-kept secret and I hope I'm not ruining it! In addition to the stunning, heavenly view, which you may want to enjoy all day from the comfort of the large window seat with local food and a bottle of Oregon wine, the quality of the details in the home are what stand out the most--ALL of the wood (floors, windows, baseboards, etc.), the warm decor, the comforters/pillows on the beds, the pillows/blankets on the window seats, the showerheads, the huge kitchen sink....This house has it all. The large picture windows and front patio afford stunning mountain and ocean views framed by fir trees, plus the sounds of a babbling brook across the street and the ocean just a few hundred yards away. The back patio is a beautiful sanctuary with nice landscaping and views of the lovely homes and yards surrounding the house. The neighborhood is peaceful and residential--it does not at all feel like a condo or tourist development, which really makes this house feel like a home. Once you stay here, you will be addicted to the home and the surrounding area. In storms or sunshine, at sunrise or sunset, it's heaven on earth.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. I am a UVa grad so love to see someone from VA out here! Hope to see you back again next year!

This house far exceeds expectations. It is rare to find a rental that is so stylish and lovely. It feels like someone's own personal home: every detail is perfect. And the location couldn't be more convenient. Nestled just off the beach with unbelievable views of the water and the cliffs over Manzanita. The window seat stretching the length of the house was my favorite place to settle in and watch the waves. Everything about our stay was relaxing and we can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Wonderful to hear you had a relaxing stay and that you enjoyed our home. Isn't the bench seat great?! Come back anytime!
