This 3 bedroom/1 bath cottage sleeps 6 in 2 double beds and 2 twins (or a king bed). A lovely free-standing soap stone gas stove provides atmosphere and warmth. Furnished in Heywood-Wakefield Modern furniture; step into the 50’s during your visit.
The fully-equipped kitchen has a coffee maker, microwave, FiestaWare dishes, and Cuisinart stainless steel cookware. . Please bring linens and towels.
The cottage comes with cable TV, Playstation3 console with Blu-Ray DVD and streaming Netflix. Wireless Internet access is also included. Picnic table and grills( both gas and charcoal).
The cottage faces west for gorgeous sunsets. Relax and enjoy sunset with a drink on the deck or from the comfort of the living room or dining area through the full-size windows.
Ready for the lake. Down to the dock for a swim, fishing, sunbathing on the dock, go rowboating. Take the pontoon out for a spin around the lake or find that great fishing hole.
The lake is sand and gravel mix – no muddy bottoms here!
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is allowed outside only. The house is not handicapped accessible.
The cottage is secluded and quiet, and the property is wooded. Nearby water recreation includes swimming, snorkeling, fishing, water skiing, and canoeing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, tennis, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, snowmobiling, downhill and cross-country skiing, and hunting.
Green Lake covers 2063 acres and has a water depth of 102 feet. Fish include rainbow and brown trout, large- and small-mouth bass, perch, and pike.
Summer in Northern Michigan? Well, what can we say? Warm weather and lake breezes bless our homes. Enjoy dazzling sunsets from the living room or deck. Swim, boat or fish from the docks. Soak up the sun and swim in the clean water of the lakes.
Mountain bike on our bike routes and quiet wooded lanes and trails. Hike the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Canoe or kayak the beautiful, nearby rivers and get a look at one of our resident bald eagles, otters or beaver dams. Golf courses abound from 3-par courses to very challenging ones. Rent a sailboat or jetski or bring your own. There’s charter fishing on Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan or try a romantic hot air balloon ride.
Located 5 minutes from the Interlochen Center for the Arts, you can enjoy first rate entertainment. Classical music and dance concerts are given daily by the international students and faculty. Make a special date with Lyle Lovett, the Doobie Brothers, or the Count Basie Big Band. There’s something to please all musical tastes.
Interlochen offers a very special yoga studio, Blooming Lotus, with daily classes and special work shops. We have a weekly farmers market each Sunday from May through September. There is a vital quilt store, InterQuilten with lots of classes and work shops and a lovely selection of fabrics. And Bud's coffee shop has fresh fried doughnuts daily (just like Grace's) with great coffee and meals.
It’s just a half hour drive to Traverse City. Come for the National Cherry Festival or one of our wooden or classic boat shows. Stroll on the boardwalk by the Boardman River in downtown. Head in for the weekly Farmer’s Market where fresh fruits and vegetables abound.
You’re never far from a great restaurant. Try our local fare: Sunday Brunch or the Monday Night T-Bone Special at the Hofbrau in Interlochen. Treat yourself to fine dining at one of the country French restaurants in Leelanau County. Wherever you go, be sure to try to great local whitefish, lake perch or walleye.
It’s a short drive to Leelanau County or the Old Mission peninsula where you can take a tasting tour to try the fine wines now produced in the area. Our personal favorite is Larry Mawby’s Vineyard just south of Suttons Bay. Larry makes beautiful sparkling wines that rival any from California or France, and he’s working towards being certified as an organic vineyard. (Don’t forget your designated driver for the day!)

Our annual anniversary getaway
Our annual anniversary getaway
My wife and I have been going to this cottage for the past three years for our anniversary and it has always been a marvelous experience. The owner is very lovely and accommodating, the cottage is super comfy, and the lake makes for some superb sunsets. Heading to Green Lake from the big city is almost a spiritual experience - the hustle and bustle falls away and suddenly all you hear is the rustle of leaves, the lapping of waves on the shore, and the hush of nightfall. We wouldn't miss it for the world.

Owner response: I love having Ed & Brooke come back each year. They bring lovely scented candles and leave champagne corks on the counter. It's a perfect place for a private, romantic weekend!
We spent most of the summer of 2010 here at Becky's cottage on Green Lake and loved it! Quiet and relaxing. Since it is up on a hill overlooking the Lake, it was nice and breezy most of the time and never too hot! No A/C needed. The cottage is very nicely appointed, all the kitchen items you could ever need. We brought our small dog and had no problems. Very close to Interlochen Arts Academy, you could even bike there. Nice sandwich shop (Buds) and ice cream shop close by too. The highlight for us, was the fishing! Tons of Largemouth bass in Green Lake. We will definitely return if our son attends Interlochen camp again. Property very clean and well maintained. Owner super helpful, easy to reach, and just plain nice folks!

Make Some Real Memories at Lady of the Lakes
Make Some Real Memories at Lady of the Lakes
An important aspect of renting a home away from home is finding owners who are easy to communicate with, and considerate. This is true of this property which we rented a few times during the spring and fall, while our youngest attended Interlochen Arts Academy. The neighborhood is especially nice and quiet. The car parks near to the cottage for easy access. It sits up on a hill overlooking Green Lake. It is very easy to feel comfortable out of doors as well as in. The feeling is expansive because of the hill, trees, lake, and windows all along the lake side of the house (the photos don't do it justice). At the same time it is cozy and friendly because the cottage is not huge and fussy. Our family and friends all felt close, warm, and comfortable in the clean, tastefully furnished Lady of the Lakes. We usually had 4-5 family members staying the whole time with 4-5 friends just visiting or spending a night We have some wonderful memories from this place. Our grandson remembers looking for artifacts and collecting rocks; his mother still talks about the kitchen where she made special dishes or baked cookies; I have a photo of my husband and I sitting out on the deck relaxing after busy times at the Academy; we played games at the kitchen table just like home; I loved sitting on the back steps catching up with our youngest who we missed so. She says one of the best memories of her life is the moonlight row boat ride she had with her friends. You have to remember you are at a warm cedar wood cottage on Green Lake in Northern MI....It's not supposed to be the DoubleTree. Enjoy the surroundings and each other....make some real memories at Lady of the Lakes.
