This apartment FAR exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, the apartment was spotless. Everything you'd need for a pleasant stay is stocked in the apartment. The photos DO NOT do this apartment justice. It is much larger and nicer than they suggest. Peter, the local liaison to the apartment owner, is one of the nicest guys in LA. He was extremely friendly, and very responsive throughout all communication prior to booking. This apartment is just 9 blocks from the 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica - one of the nicest shopping and 'lifestyle' areas in west LA. It is also just a few blocks from several grocery stores (including Whole Foods - which was great for us, since we are foodies). The apartment has a secure parking space under the building, which we also loved. Parking can be a big headache on vacation, and having the spot was one less thing to worry about. The big windows and french doors open NW for some spectacular distant views of the Getty and the mountains. There are also many palm trees in this view, which are cool to see for people not used to that sort of thing. We did have several friends over during our stay, and they all agreed that this apartment was unbelievable, and well worth the price we were paying per night. We would definitely stay here again, although we may actually be moving to LA in the near future - so we will keep this listing tucked away for family members in the case we cannot host them. Being active food bloggers and cookbook authors, having a nice kitchen was a MUST. This apartment delivered in a big way. We loved the kitchen. It was a nice size, and we were able to both cook simultaneously without too much interference. The kitchen was very nicely equipped with cooking utensils, though if you are a die hard chef, you might want to consider bringing a few spices if thats your thing. We got by with what they had, it wasn't a big deal. They had all the basics! We would recommend this apartment to anyone. We loved our brief 5 night stay here, and would absolutely stay here again. Top marks!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was our first VRBO and VR in general - we are now converts. The ease of the whole process really made our long weekend trip even more relaxing. The condo itself was spotless, superbly furnished and considerately outfitted. The larger condo complex was quiet and upscale, simple and beautiful. Having lived in Santa Monica for three years, I knew the location was ideal, and indeed it was. To match the condo and its complex, the neighborhood was pleasant as well. It is essentially 12 blocks from the beach and very close to Father's Office, which is recommended for a great burger and beer! Highly recommended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+.
