We call our Home in San Miguel de Allende, "Lavender Hill."
Enclosed compound, a beautifully designed home by one of Mexico's premier architects (Barbosa) which has the feeling of a secret rest spot, just a couple blocks from the central city plaza! You would never know all that is behind the walls which safely enclose you. Enclosed parking is a huge advantage in this small colonial town. Three formal gardens, each with its own charming ambience, so that you may spend a morning under the wind chime collection sipping juice or coffee, or you may recline in the custom furniture in the second garden and watch the hummingbirds under the mesquite trees! If the mood strikes, walk a few steps and rest in the shade of the huge ficus tree in the "secret garden" and watch the second of two fountain pools.
Live in staff will assist you from their own staff quarters, and two maids are on premises daily, too. The staff will assist in advising you on local markets for special foods or other needs.
Wonderful patios abound, both upstairs and down, with a popular gathering room and half bath in what could be called the entertainment room, where are the fax machine, TV, one of the CD players, fireplace and walk-out to a tiled patio with its own set of furniture and sculpted seating. I love resting there in the late afternoon, after walking and touring the town, photographing the colorful doors, people, patterns and art that are San Miguel de Allende.
We go there to study languages, and love the superb teachers, for which we will give you references.
No Children under 12 and absolutely No Smoking on the property.
