We celebrated Christmas at this cozy, warm and peaceful house. The house was close enough for us to visit our families and a wonderful alternative to a hotel. Jim and Sue are wonderful hosts -- they even put up a Christmas tree for us. This is a wonderful place to just kick back and RELAX.

Peaceful vacation home!

We rented the house to accomodate our vacation while we were in town for a wedding. There were 7 in our group and we were very comfortable with the amount of space and bedrooms. My children LOVED the horses! My oldest even went to the barn most mornings to help with daily chores! Jim and Sue were absolutely wonderful with the girls! This was an amazing vacation and we look forward to another visit sometime!

A Real Treasure

Guest: JC (Missouri City, Tx)
Date of Stay: 07/10/10 Review Submitted: 07/24/10

While looking for a place to stay midway between Baltimore and Harpers Ferry to attend a wedding and visit family for a week this July I happened upon the listing for "Above All Else". We would be traveling from Texas and hoped to find a place that we could call home for a week, some place that we could entertain a few friends and that would accept Andy, our Welsh Terrier. Fortunately Above All Else was available and the arrangements were made. The owners were very gracious and helpful, the house far exceeded our expectations, the view was fabulous and everything that we needed for our weeks stay was provided. My only regret was that we couldn't have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in a beautiful and relaxing country setting. JC

Can We Just Move There?

Guest: RGV (CA)
Date of Stay: 05/10/10 Review Submitted: 05/30/10

We chose Above All Else as our home base while visiting the DC area with our 6 children. It was the best choice we made regarding this trip. Our family loved staying there and would love to just move in. The owners, Jim and Sue welcomed us so graciously with some special touches. The house is very, very clean and everything is in top working order. There was plenty of space and comfortable beds for all of us. If the idea of sitting on the front porch, drink in hand, watching the horses in the pasture appeals to you, this is the place for you. If not, you don't know what you are missing! Staying here was an incredible experience...one that our family will remember always. It is close enough to make day trips to DC and Baltimore, but you get to leave all that behind and have a peaceful night. We took a tour of the local winery, which was lovely. It is also close enough to visit Gettysburg. But just a warning--once you get to Above All Else, you probably won't want to leave.

Fabulous

Guest: Mike from the UK (Cambridge, United Kingdom)

My family stayed for nearly 2 weeks at Above All Else and would strongly recommend it. We had an amazing time and the setting of the house is just beautiful - imagine a picture postcard setting with the house just up a gentle hill looking down over a farm with some fantastic horses, peace and quiet and amazing views from all of the windows and porch. So the location was great, the house was equally fantastic - a modern house but with a lot of character - lovely furnishings and a very comfortable, homely feel. Sue and Jim are fantastic, generous hosts and you will enjoy every minute.

The perfect vacation!

Guest: Brad & J.J. (Chesapeake, VA)
Date of Stay: 10/16/09 Review Submitted: 10/25/09

My family has never enjoyed a vacation more than our time at Above All Else @ Windsong. The house is beautiful, comfortable, homey, well-furnished, and immaculately clean. Fixtures and appliances in kitchen, bathrooms and laundry are new and high-end. It is an easy, pleasant place to live. The view is magnificent. The location is very convenient for lots of vacation activities -- with the beauty of Frederick County, close to history like Gettysburg, and less than an hour to Baltimore or the Capital Beltway -- but our best days were spent on property, relaxing, playing in the yard, and interacting with the beautiful, child-friendly horses. You will be glad if you stay here!

Owner response: Bradley was also an excellent guest! We always appreciate kind remarks and the comment book in the laundry room is full of them from previous guests. We make every effort to have the house in good repair and immaculate for all who stay with us. Sue
