Apple's Cottage is recently built Cape that's set on a narrow point of land and is surrounded by the ocean on both sides of the property. Private beaches, with a boat mooring, are just steps away and are perfect for swimming and picnics. A large porch overlooks the ocean and Camden Hills, and is perfect for outdoor entertaining and meals.
Inside, the house is decorated by a renowned interior designer in a luxurious and comfortable country style. With it's cathedral ceilings in every room, and oversized master bedroom and bathroom, it feels much larger than a 21/2 bedroom house. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, a sofa and French doors with views of the ocean both North and South. The second bedroom also has French doors facing the ocean, twin beds and a full bath.
Apple's Cottage is set amongst the historic Cottages of Dark Harbor, on the island of Islesboro, a 30 minute ferry ride from the mainland. Islesboro has a year round population of 600 that grows significantly in the summer months, and is not so small as to feel isolated, or to large and feel like the mainland. Local attractions include a community Sailing Center, public tennis courts and Fitness Center, many Art galleries and Antique shops, community events (concerts, picnics, dances etc.) and miles of ocean front roads for hiking and biking. The house is a 5 minute walk from the Dark Harbor shops and restaurant.
The house is fully heated for cool evenings. Available May, June, August, September and October.

About the owner: My family first came to Dark harbor Islesboro in the 19th century and have summered there ever since. I have an art/antiques store on the island and am an avid gardener and dog owner.
Why the Owner Chose Islesboro:
Since my family has summered on the island since the 19th century building a vacation house was an easy choice for me. The island and specifically this property is uniquely situated on one of the most scenic areas in Penobscot Bay. Surrounded by ocean on a jutting peninsula the land was perfect for a vacation home.
