We rented this house for a week July 2011. The house had everything we needed and more. It was spotless..The children had a wonderful time feeding the ducks and swimming. The beach is very gradual and perfect for young swimmers. We are looking forward to going back.

Year Purchased: 1948
About the owner: Hi. My name is Kevin Cole. I was born in Portland, Maine, and spent my summers swimming, boating and water skiing at this property on Sebago Lake in Naples. After graduating from the University of Maine at Orono, I spent 13 years on active duty with the Army Corps of Engineers; I lived six years in Germany. In 1989, I left active duty, joined the reserves and attended the University of Maine School of Law, from which I graduated in 1992. I met my spouse, Barbara, in Salzburg, Austria, in 1990. She and I currently are active members of the Maine Bar. I was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and retired from the Army Reserve in 2005. I have three children, all of whom have served in the military. Two of them have been deployed to the middle East.
Why the Owner Chose Sebago Lake:
In the 1940's, my parents camped at the Sebago Lake State Park camping area. Because my brother was a very active child, my mother used to avoid waking other campers by taking him for early morning walks to the property, which then was undeveloped. When the property came up for sale in 1948, my parents bought it. They built the cottage in 1953. This property is quite a rare find. It has a private beach on the main part of the lake. The cove is partially sheltered by a rocky point with a flagpole. The property is primarily forested, although there is a large flat area for gatherings and/or vehicle parking.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This cottage remains our home when it isn't rented. Just about everything you need is provided. We have linens and towels for your use. We also have staple food items available and a bread machine that you may use. The kitchen has a gas stove/oven and a gas/electric refrigerator. It also has a wood stove. The cottage is heated by a propane furnace, which also provides hot water. The cottage has central air conditioning but you may find that the breeze from the lake makes all but the warmest days quite comfortable. This property is less than an hour from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where unique theme parks abound and where Autumn leaf peeping is awesome. The nearest historical site is the Song Lock, which is still operational. It is only two miles away. There are two golf courses and a mini-golf course within 10 miles. Seaplane and river boat rides are available within ten miles, too. Use of a boat mooring is included. There are several places to rent boats around the lake.
