Grand Marais cabin description
Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom plus sleeping porch cabin, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you 'rough it' in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.
Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.
As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.

Our first time in the UP...great place to stay if you have a family of four like we do and don't want to eat out all the time. There is a grill and the kitchen is small but functions well. The place is very comfortable, the fire pit is fun, the town has everything you need, the beach is great for finding rocks. The only thing the place was lacking was a can opener and some good family movies to watch at night while you wind down. We hiked every trail in Pictured Rocks, took a guided kayak trip and a day trip to Saute Ste, Marie.

The photos are true to life, not pictured is a wood stove. The enclosed side porch and outdoor porch were our favorite places to hang out. The side porch has a sliding door can be used to insulate others from the sound of the TV. Due to an unusual circumstance (new water main in town) we got to meet the neighbor and several townspeople. They are really nice and their concern and friendliness actually made me feel safe and secure rather than inconvenienced. There was plenty of split wood stacked outside and inside for a campfire or woodstove. I believe you children could sleep in the side porch with sleeping bags. The beds are not queen size, they are smaller. We both felt very positive about our stay at the Plover, it was quiet, private, peaceful, we could actually hear every so often when an apple fall from a tree. The cabin is a good base camp, for day trips to the National Park and close to town, the public beach, restaurants, and stores. Recommend Superior brew pub and Agate beach.

Manager response: Thank you for the great review. The Plover Retreat has welcomes new owners and they have made many exciting changes to the cabin. Please check out the new pictures and descriptions. One thing to mention is the absence of the wood stove. It has been removed to allow for the addition of a sleeping area. We hope to see you back! Thanks again.
