Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom home is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you "rough it" in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.
Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.
As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.

The photos are true to life, not pictured is a wood stove. The enclosed side porch and outdoor porch were our favorite places to hang out. The side porch has a sliding door can be used to insulate others from the sound of the TV. Due to an unusual circumstance (new water main in town) we got to meet the neighbor and several townspeople. They are really nice and their concern and friendliness actually made me feel safe and secure rather than inconvenienced. There was plenty of split wood stacked outside and inside for a campfire or woodstove. I believe you children could sleep in the side porch with sleeping bags. The beds are not queen size, they are smaller. We both felt very positive about our stay at the Plover, it was quiet, private, peaceful, we could actually hear every so often when an apple fall from a tree. The cabin is a good base camp, for day trips to the National Park and close to town, the public beach, restaurants, and stores. Recommend Superior brew pub and Agate beach.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Why the Owner Chose Grand Marais:
When I came down the hill into town the first time back in the early 80's, I said to myself, "I gotta get a place here" GM is "nature in abundance."
