We just got back home a few days ago. We are ready to go back. Great place for peace and quiet. Our dogs loved playing in the ocean and sand. Everything was there that was needed. I will say cellular service is awful. But having the house phone did help. I will certainly recommend this place to my friends. We hope to go back this fall. The coast line in this area is just great.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This little place is wonderful. Not fancy but neat and clean, with its own special charm. It has everything you need, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, internet, etc. If you want privacy and GREAT access to the beach, this is the place. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had several picnics on the beach. The screened in porch (with screened roof) was my favorite. At night I could sit out there star gazing and watching the shrimp boats on the horizon. This area is great for pets and we will bring our dog next visit. It is walking distance to Indian Pass Raw Bar for the freshest catch/harvest and the very best key lime pie we tasted (and we tasted a bunch of them) during our vacation. Thanks for helping us have a wonderful stay in this area. We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Right on the beach, very quiet and clean. Great raw bar within walking distance with tons of atmosphere. Screen porch wonderful, spacious and view was great. There was no roof on screen porch so was sunny all during day hours. Property could use some upkeep - main level window air leaked & had to change out trash cans under it all week (repair person did not show up); the exterior doors all had issues with easy closing/opening and with the exception of the front door, did not lock really securely. I probably would recommend to a friend that had pets they wanted to take. There is no regulation against having your dogs on the beach.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

We enjoyed our stay at this charming house. The house had everything we needed. The owner's were very attentive to our needs. Great location right on the beach with wonderful personal boardwalk over the dunes. More than enough room for 3 adults and 2 children. Only negative about the location was that cars are allowed to drive on the beach here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

Our family including our Golden Retriever just returned from a wonderul vacation week staying at this perfect little cottage. It was above and beyond the listing description. Very clean, flat screen tv, nice furniture........Jackie was great to work with and transactions were made extremely easy. We would definately recommend this property to others! We can't wait to return!! Very private! My favorite spot in the evening was sitting on the screened in deck listening to the water, reading my Kindle...........I can still hear the waves!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband and I plus our two Jack Russell Terriers enjoyed a wonderful week @ this beach house. It is nicely located between Port St. Joe/Cape San Blas and Appalachicola. It is an older property but is clean and has everything you need for a comfortable vacation. We will definitely rent this property again.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners.

I don't know where to begin. We were looking for an isolated beach but close to a town for sight seeing and eating out. This cottage was more than what we were expecting. It may appear to be simple but it has everything and more to make sure you have a wonderful trip. We enjoyed waking up and being right on the beach and not having to deal with people and elevators. We saw dolphins and stingrays everyday but the bald eagle was the best. Whether or not not we were eating our meals or just relaxing taking in the view, the screened-in porch was a plus. Thank you so much for a week of amazing memories. We will definitely be returning next year. Hold on to Your Faith.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A wonderful month spent on a quiet beach in a charming cottage. I almost don't want to tell anyone else about this beach cottage so it will be available when we can get back down there. We had no problems and the owners were just great in providing information on the area and questions about the rental. You will not be disappointed staying here. The neighbors we did meet were nice and so were their dogs. I am glad not many people know about this area..what a hidden gem.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The place is in a perfect location and the beach has been basically deserted! We have had a wonderful time here (10 SHORT days). My first time seeing the ocean (although technically it's the Gulf of Mexico) and a celebration of one year kicking cancer's butt! It's been wonderful, thanks for providing such a great place to stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The locaton of this cottage was excellent, the house was comfortable and clean, minor cosmetic issues, but no big deal. My only problem, the beaches on this side of the strip, the water was very merky, I was told by a local that the Apalachicola River runs through it that's why it's merky. We did drive down to the cape and the waters there were amazing. Overall, we had a great time and the location is excellent close to great dining and it is directly on the beach. Great for dogs.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The house was clean and comfortable, fully stocked with all the needed items. Upon our arrival, we had one minor issue, but the owner's addressed it immediately. No concerns at all after that. The air conditioners keep the home very cool and comfortable. You simply cannot beat the location of this home. Situated right on the water, the kids could come and go as the pleased. We enjoyed the week without the headache of dealing with crowded beaches. We swam, we fished, we cooked out, and we watched the sun rise and set on the amazing back porch. When the time came to pack up, we were all a little sad. Without a doubt, I would recommend this property to anyone who truly wants to enjoy quality time with friends or family. We had an amazing vacation and made some wonderful memories!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The views were spectacular. The ac kept the house chilly. The dogs were welcome. Internet, tv and phone were no problem. Our neighbors were far enough away we never really knew they were around. If you really want to get away and live simply, this is the place! The house ( and outdoor furniture) does need a little TLC, but everything worked, and was very clean. No complaints, and we are already trying to decide when we can go back next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I thought the house was perfect. Nothing fancy, but it was right on the beach, the air conditioners worked great, the house was clean and beds comfy. My cell phone didn't work and I couldn't have been more excited! No makeup no cell phones for a whole week. I wish I could stay a month. The week flew by and I was so depressed when we had to leave and get back to reality. Can't wait to come back next summer, even sooner if I can manage it. My dog hates water but he loved the beach.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

If you are looking for fancy and great entertainment, this is not the place. If you are seeking one of the best spots on the beach...this is it. We loved the house, the beach, and the screened deck(the full moon was beautiful!), We did not want to come home. You will not find a better value anywhere than this house. The owners are helpful and very accommodating. The house is not new but it is very clean, the beds sleep great, and we had just about everything we needed. Don't let the window units fool you...they work very well.We did not spend a lot of time inside but it was very comfortable at night for sleeping. My 7 year old grandson said,"This is the most awesome vacation ever." If you like an uncrowded beach, you will love Indian Pass. We will be back next year!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This cottage was perfect for my wife and I plus our two dogs. Everything you need to support your stay and best of all -"YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE BEACH" with your own private boardwalk. After we had spent many years staying in Sanibel we decided to revisit the Forgotten Coast! We may never visit Sanibel again. This place has character, convenience, and location. Ten minutes to a golf Course, 15 minutes to Port St. Joe restaurants and shops, twenty minutes to Apalachicola or Mexico Beach and best of all within walking distance of the famous Indian Pass Raw Bar! The owner was so helpful in advising us on travel routes, what to bring, and great spots to eat seafood. So the bottom line is if you are a family of four with a couple of dogs and you want to hang out on the beach, enjoy great seafood, kayak around the Bay, fish, shop and sightsee--this is the place. We will revisit and have shared our experience with our circle of friends. This property has lots of great features, with the location and view at the top of the list. Our time there was cut short due to rainy weather, but while we were there,(4 days) we were almost the only ones on the beach. Perfectly secluded! The house itself, more like a cabin,(not a negative) is comfortable enough, but is in need of some maintenance and attention to detail. The owners are aware and in the process of completing those projects. That said, the price is right, the views are amazing, the living area is attractive, bedding is adequate, the kitchen is well equipped, appliances clean, and the owners could not be more accomodating. I would suggest adding more and current photos to the listing.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time during our month at the cottage. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer! The screened-in porch was incredible! We loved the 180 degree view and the peaceful sound of the surf. We took long walks on the beach every day. I don’t know who had more fun – us or our dogs! We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

We did enjoy the ocean front views, and beautiful beaches.BUT..the "house" is really sort of a Butler building. The upstairs is one big room which includes the kitchen, and living area which leads to the deck. Overall the upstairs area is nice, but the air conditioning unit is very old, and in need of repair about 10 years ago.Someone had attempted to repair the air conditioning and looked like the gave up. We rented the place the week after Christmas. It does not have central heating, so space heaters were in every room. (The deck has a wonderful view), but the screening is torn and flapping in the breeze in three places and the deck chairs are broken. The downstairs bedroom area is another matter all together. The master bedroom has a hole in the wall and un-painted drywall, and the bathroom had a broken cabinet door. The second bathroom had a electrical socket falling out of the wall (safety hazard), and the laminate on the bathroom door is coming apart. The advertisement mentioned a bath and three quarters. There is only a shower and two toilets total in the entire house. There is an old washer sitting outside under the deck visible from the bedrooms. Not very attractive. The advertisement on VRBO depicts/ and states this is an "older" property, and that is fair. The difference between "old' and "worn out" is the problem. This place needs some TLC, I expect more for the money spent.Owner response: We appreciate the business of all guests. We apologize this visitor was unsatisfied, but the property was being repaired by a contractor that did not complete their work before this guest arrived. We were not notified of any concern or lack of satisfaction, or we would have gladly moved the guest to another property or refunded their money. We guarantee these issues are all corrected now (drywall was related to air unit mentioned, by the way). The screens blow corners loose 2-3 times a year, as beachfront homes take quite a beating from violent storms. Most guests call to report them, and we send someone over immediately to correct, as it is rather easy to do so and can be done even that week when the guest is "in town for groceries", if they desire. Please review all properties available from agencies or direct-to-guests sites, and you will find no properties with this kind of beachfront location available at this price. We update and work on the property consistently, especially during the somewhat slow Winter weeks. This home is an amazing value, has been rented for years with mostly repeat customers, and every Summer week has 3-4 customers that would take each week. Again, we apologize this guest came at a time some repairs were underway and we did not know. We commit to all customers that the property will be as advertised or better, or we will make them "whole" with every manner possible. Thank you

We just got back from the beach and already miss the screened porch watching the sunset. The cottage is really nice and fits the description. We especially enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife. There are lots of beach birds, pelicans, dolphins, and crabs at night. The owners are very nice and easy to do business with. The beach is beautiful and really private. I would definitely recommend this beachfront cottage to anyone. I can't wait to return to this little piece of heaven!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the beach house, I was sad that I didn't have longer to stay. The house was perfect size for my family, I greatly enjoyed the fact that the beach was not crowded. We practically had the beach to our selves. My English bull dog I believe enjoyed the beach and ocean more than anyone, he loved digging in the sand and going out as far as he could in the ocean, which wasn't very far, he realized he wasn't as strong a swimmer as he thought. The beach was very quiet and peaceful the whole week and I will look forward to returning again next year if you still have it available for rent next summer. Again Thank you !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
