My travel party of four came to New Orleans for the women's final four. We like to rent homes when we travel, it is more relaxing then a hotel. We really enjoyed staying here you really are within walking distance of everythng, Bourbon if you like the party scene, Decature if you like food, and shopping is all around. The neighbors are very friendly. The owner Pat is very easy to communicate with and the manager is extremely nice. The home is very spacious (we rented both units for our stay) and quiet, the courtyard was beautiful, we enjoyed coffee there every morning. If you want to enjoy the flavor of NOLA then you should consider staying here. We enjoyed our stay and would do it again if and when we get back. KandiOwner response: Our slogan is "your home away from home". We truly mean that and make it our goal to meet the needs of each guest specifically. New Orleans is a great city with so much to do. We want you to take it all in then come "home" to relax and feel as comfortable as if you are in your own home. Many of our guests are coming to meet friends to share a special time, shouldn't your environment allow you to do that?

We cannot say enough about how absolutely perfect the Bouligny House is for a place to stay in New Orleans. The house itself is wonderful but the location could not be better! It is literally 2 blocks off of Bourbon Street and approximately 8 blocks from the French Market. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance, including Le Peniche less than a block away & Port of Call 3 blocks away. In spite of it's close proximity to all the "action" it is very quiet at night. There is a bus stop near by & cabs are prompt to respond but it's also fun to walk as much as possible to enjoy the scene. Beautiful courtyard with fountain, good TV & WI-FI for those interested in kicking back once in a while. All in all, one of our very best experiences with VRBO. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Our only disappointment was dinner at Antoine's. Terrible, terrible meal and over the top expensive for what you get. We definitely would not go back & would not recommend it! We cannot wait to go back because our week went waaaay too fast. We think NOLA is now our favorite place to vacation and we are in our 80's! Thank you Pat & Pam. This house was absolutely perfect for us! We rented the whole house for 3 couples and had plenty of room. The pictures definitley do not do it justice. The house was much bigger than I thought it was going to be. This was our first time in New Orleans and Pat gave wonderful suggestions which was invaluable. It was only a short walk to Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street which is what I loved most about the location. We were able to experience it all with the ability to get away from the craziness as well. The courtyard in the back was great and an added bonus. I highly recommend this house. It was fantastic and we will definitely be back again! Thank you Pat for opening your home to us. I look forward to coming back again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Every guest is important to us. Our team works very hard for the guest to have a clean, comfortable place to enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer. Each guest is different and has different needs. Our goal is to accommodate those needs as best we can. Our city is a mecca for everything cultural. So the place where you stay, should reflect that. We certainly have a great location and everything is easily accessible. A car is not necessary unless you expect to visit outside of the central city.

Myself and 6 other girlfriends stayed at the Bouligny House to celebrate our 40th birthdays in October of 2012. I can't say enough about what a spectacular space this house is to rent!!! The owner as well as the property manager were both very hospitable and friendly. The house itself was just a few minutes walk to both Frenchman St. and Bourbon St. as well as the French Quarter. Our group of friends enjoyed many nights of live music, local charm and great food along Frenchman St. We also did a traditional pub crawl along Bourbon St. to ensure we weren't missing any of the New Orleans experience. We enjoyed shopping in the French Quarter and buying local art. We also enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Mississippi.... What a wonderful place to vacation. Due to the size of our group, we rented both sides of the house and found it to be very spacious and clean. We also enjoyed many cups of coffee and mimosas in the beautiful courtyard. Thank you Pat for opening up your vacation home to us. I would stay there any time I came back to New Orleans and recommend it to all those who have the opportunity to vacation there in future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our group came to New Orleans to celebrate a wedding and spend a little time afterwards exploring the city. We couldn't have been happier with our stay in The Bouligny House. What a find! We rented the entire property, and on our first walk-through of this lovely home, we found that each room and the patio looked like they could be featured in Home and Garden magazine. The entire home was neat and clean, beautifully decorated, and well-appointed. It was obvious that the property has received years of tender, loving care. The location is perfect, too. No car is necessary since restaurants, coffee shops and music venues are within easy walking distance. The owner, Pat, made booking the property super-easy, and she was a delight to work with. Her goal is to have everyone who stays at The Bouligny enjoy their stay, and she certainly met that goal with us. Her property manager, Pam, may just be the friendliest person in NOLA! She met us for check-in and helped us feel right at home from the start. In short, staying at The Bouligny House was a wonderful experience. You can be sure we'll recommend it to others, and hope we can come back again soon ourselves.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Never having been to New Orleans before, we were extremely pleased with communication with Pat in preparation for our travels. She was very helpful with all of our inquiries and accommodating with our scheduling needs. This continued during our stay in the form of the property manager. Every part of our trip, beginning with this, far exceeded our expectations. As for the location, it was perfect! Far enough from the French Quarter for us to feel comfortable with a group of teenagers, yet close enough that we were able to do our daily grocery shopping and enjoy the sights. Daily excursions were easy to get to via trolley, bus or by foot. It was a wonderful retreat in the midst of a city full of tourists and lively entertainment. The house itself was not only spacious (for a group of 10!) but also immaculate upon our arrival. Everything we needed to prepare meals at home, entertain ourselves in the evenings and sleep 10 comfortably was on hand. We were pleased to have a place that truly felt like home. Not only would we all recommend this property, but also agree that if any of us have the opportunity to return to NOLA, we will most definitely choose the Bouligny House for our stay.Owner response: We consider it quite a compliment to receive such a review from a group of teenage girls. Our accommodations are to provide an at home experience that allows you to fully enjoy what New Orleans has to offer and retreat to rest and revitalize for the next experience. Our city is wonderful, full of history, great food, culture and fun but can be a lot to take in. So you get the best of both worlds. Your home away from home in a city full of excitement and cultural experiences! Let us know how we can accommodate you.

We were so happy with our stay at the Bouligny House for Jazz Fest this year. The photos do not do it justice. It is much larger and brighter than it appears on the web. The Neighbors were friendly, the parking was easy and we could walk to Frenchman street in just minutes. We loved our stay! See you again soon....Did you find this review helpful? We were a group of 9 from Chicago and rented both units of the Bouligny House and it was perfect. Everyone had a great time and loved it. The two "old" couples stayed in the back unit and the five 20 something year olds stayed in the front unit. When we closed the adjoining door at night, we never heard a sound when the young folks returned home late from Bourban St. Us old folks loved being able to walk to Frenchmen St. and had great food and music every night. The little 24 hour restaurant 2 doors away was cozy and good and the Port of Call, a block away, was a busy haven of great drinks and cheeseburgers - either before or after exploring the neighborhood, or walking to the French Market. The house was very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and we enjoyed sitting in the back garden. If I ever get the opportunity to return to New Orleans I hope I can stay at this house again. Thanks to Pat and Basil for their hospitality. HanneDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Why the Owner Chose Marigny-Bywater:
A New Orleans native. I grew up near that area and went to school in the French Quarter. I wanted to have access to everything within walking distance and close to my parents. I needed a home that is large enough to expand to more room as my family increased.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The courtyard is only accessible to this unit. I love the quiet/stillness of the backyard but when entertainment is going on in the French quarter if you go to the balcony patio, you can sometimes hear the entertainment.
