This unique home is located in Sconset, "the jewel of Nantucket," a picturesque village with rose covered cottages. Sconset has a general store, several excellent restaurants, superb tennis and golf, movies, and it's own wonderful beach -- and it's also close to some of the island's most beautiful beaches. Our house is perfect for families or couple/friends who enjoy a private setting. We are walking/biking distance from the village and the beach and 7 miles from Nantucket town. Situated on a half acre the property features an extensive lawn, outdoor grill and dining area, patio, deck and outdoor shower.
The house is a one of a kind oak post and beam with a large living /dining/kitchen area and a separate area for sleeping. There are 4 bedrooms -- a large master bedroom with a queen bed, a sunroom with a single bed, 2 additional bedrooms with queen beds. Two of the bedrooms have private entrances. There are 2 baths 1 shower, 1 jacuzzi tub. (There's also a bunk room, perfect for kids.)
Our renters include families who want to get away together, avid fisherman, serious cooks, couples who appreciate real quiet, die hard beach bums and family dogs. Cable, wifi and all the conveniences of home.

We have stayed in this home for several summers, and each time it feels like coming home. This is a comfortable house with all the amenities you could want. It's an authentic Nantucket cottage that's been expanded to accommodate modern living. We love the location - there is a great private yard, and we have enjoyed sitting under the stars at night hearing the ocean. We walk to the restaurants and market in 'Sconset, and the house is close to the bus if you don't want to bring a car. My favorite part of the house is the garden. We love picking vegetables that we'll be cooking that night! My only hesitation with writing this review is that people will find out about this hidden gem!! We'll be back.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Scott, We had a wonderful week in Nantucket and enjoyed your lovely home. It worked perfectly for our family. We were able to use many of your herbs and some of your veggies and my wife loved watering your plants. The backyard was perfect for bacci ball and we grilled out almost every night. We all loved your outside shower. What a treat to shower under the Dig Dipper. Please let us know what weeks in August will be available next summer. Why the Owner Chose Siasconset:
This is a summer vacation rental. This is my home. I worked on the island in Sconset for many years, and my family has come here for 30 yrs.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I helped design and built my home, and over the yrs. have expanded it and enjoyed improving it. I have an extensive garden, including a vegetable garden, and blueberries, blackberries and two apple trees. It's a lot of work but I enjoy being outside. professionally I have taught tennis at a university and nearby at the Sconset Casino, where I play tennis regularly to this day. A great joy is the love of Sconset and Nantucket by my family, two daughters and four grandchildren who have been coming to the island every year since 1979.
