Valdez is the gateway to the Prince William Sound. With world class fishing, sightseeing and sea kayaking. Many of the biggest fish caught in Alaska are caught in the Prince Williams sound. The city of Valdez is snuggled beneath the Chugach Mountains. The crashing glaciers and towering mountains that rise from the seas make Valdez absolutely picturesque.
The seawaters near Valdez abound with sea otters, dall porpoise, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, humpback whales, orca whales, pink salmon, silver salmon, halibut, ling cod and rockfish. You can head out to Allison Point and watch black and brown bears fishing for salmon. Bald eagles abound everywhere. Life is good.

My two sons and I had a wonderful experience visiting Valdez and bunking in the Bear Creek Cabins. It was very clean and met our needs quite well. Very nice folks did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend Bear Creek if you need a place to stay while visiting Valdez.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
