Manitou Springs condo description

Welcome to our Skylight Loft in the historic Manitou Springs Spa Building. You’ll feel it’s rich history the minute you enter the newly renovated building with its lofts, galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, and wine stores in the center of Manitou Springs.

A great place to base your trip and explore the Pikes Peak region and the mountains of Colorado.

The Skylight Loft is spacious (about 950 sq. ft.) features a spectacular 9 x 15 ft skylight––who knew they built skylights 90 years ago? This loft within a loft offers a unique space above the bedroom perfect for reading and relaxing.

French doors ensconced from above and on both sides with panels of paned windows opens onto your private balcony with a bistro table inviting you over for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The mountain views are spectacular, and just below are boutiques, galleries, and award-winning restaurants. Around the corner is the historic arcade with children and adults playing boardwalk games and little ones riding a large selection of coin-operated rides. Listen to the bubbling water and walk across the old stone bridge that spans Fountain Creek, and you’re on Manitou Avenue right in the middle of town!

Back inside the loft, check out the original tile floors, the corner gas fireplace, and the elegant kitchen with glass-accented maple cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a large center island. The loft is furnished with high-end contemporary but comfortable furniture and supplied with sumptuous linens and bath supplies. A stackable washer and dryer are tucked into a convenient laundry closet.

The very large tiled bathroom includes a spacious glass shower and whirlpool tub. And after a busy day you’ll find respite in the comfortable bedroom. More sleeping area is provided on the leather sofa bed in the living room. A Flat Screen TV sits above the fireplace and Free Hi-Speed Wireless internet service is provided.

But that’s not all. . . there are two roof top terraces for the residents and our guests. They are spacious, and the views are inspiring. The creek bubbles below and 11 mineral springs are within easy walking distance of the loft––they all taste different and in years past they were celebrated for their healing powers. You’ll want to try all of them and bring back some for making lemonade. An interesting bit of trivia––the first carbonated drink was made from the Manitou Springs.

Parking is not always easy in our charming mountain town, but if you stay at the loft you’ll have your own designated parking spot in our well-lighted covered, attached garage.

Manitou Springs is an art community––you may be fortunate enough to see a local artist painting one of our beautiful landscapes. And in case biking, hiking, people watching, shopping, and hanging out at Soda Springs Park (just steps away) haven’t exhausted your energy, you’re welcome to our workout room on the lower level.

The loft is supplied with books and information about area attractions and special events, and we try to meet each of you personally––our offices are just down the street. Manitou Springs will capture your heart and you will not want to leave!

We are members of our local and very informative Chamber of Commerce.

Location, Location, Location!!! This loft has to be the best in town. It was clean, bright, and cheery. The kitchen was top of the line, and we loved the large bath. The view was great. All in all, our stay was wonderful, and the owners could not have been more helpful. There was an issue with the main water supply for Manitou Springs the day we arrived, and the owner not only met us at the condo to show us around, but supplied us with bottled water to use until the repairs could be made. We also received an email from them when the boil alert had been lifted. Manitou Springs and the surrounding area have more to do than can be completed in a week. Oh, and the provided parking spot in the private garage was great. A two minute walk to all of the action. Thanks for a wonderful week!!

Manitou Springs is a real gem of a town and the skylight condo is in the best location...it is convenient to everything. The dedicated parking space that come with the unit is a bonus since there are way more cars than parking spots. There is tons to do in the town and the surrounding area and all are easy to get to from the loft condo. We went to the Air Force Academy on way down I25 on arrival day from Denver airport. We later went to US Olympic Training Center, Garden of the Gods (awesome place...pure beauty...great to hike and/or take pictures...you could spend multiple days there), Cheyenne Zoo, Cliff Dwellings, Old Colorado City, Barr Trail (wife, daughter and I hiked it all the way to the top) and the Manitou Incline (my daughter did it). We originally booked the unit while participating in the 9/7/13 Pikes Peak Challenge. We decided to stay a few extra days before and after the event. The unit is very nice and comfortable and looks as pictured in the listing. Clearly there is no other condo units we saw in the area that are better if one wants to stay in a condo in center of Manitou Springs. Dick, the unit owner, personally met us and toured the unit when we arrived. The owners are nice to deal with...and they reply to emails quickly. They care about their unit and it shows. The unit had free and easy to use WIFI and one flat screen with your standard cable channels. There is no TV in bedroom but really was not an issue for us. We had warm weather so we did not use the fireplace but I imagine in fall and winter it would be nice to use. The bathroom was especially nice. You won't have to worry about getting hot...the A/C unit is powerful and cools the place quickly. The kitchen appears to be near brand new and there was nothing that we needed that was not provided by the owners. We did not use the small loft area over the bedroom but I imagine that if one had kids...they may find the added space a bonus. It also provides a place to stow away luggage if staying an extended period. We ate at a lot of restaurants in town...but nothing came close to Adams Mountain Café located on 1st floor in the condo building was my favorite. Try their breakfast...you will not be disappointed. The Loop at the corner was also very good as was Marilyn's....but you really can't go wrong no matter where you go. So to summarize...unique town, nice condo, good owners, beautiful area, lots to do = great vacation.....what more could you ask for?

Why would you stay anywhere else? This loft was fantastic. My wife and I stayed there with our two boys, a three year old and an 11 month old, who just loved the balcony! Walk out the door and you're in the middle of everything. We spent our time going to Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, The Manitou Cliff Dwellings, The North Pole, Seven Falls, Helen Hunt Falls, and of course The Arcade! Needless to say, we had two very tired little boys. The loft provided a great place to let them take a snooze during the afternoon to get ready for more fun and excitement in the evening. Having a washer and dryer was a HUGE benefit for us. Thanks for the instruction manuals on the appliances. They came in handy when working the dryer. It was also a little rainy on Monday, but the loft even had umbrellas that we used to stay dry. Thank you! We're talking about making this an annual destination, and the loft will be our first choice for a place to stay.

We LOVED the loft, we have rented many VRBO places and this was one of our favorites. Owners were accommodating. We missed our flight and they offered for us to stay an additional night. Had great meals at local restaurants...the best is downstairs from the loft.

The loft, location and Manitou Springs were all excellent choices. We had a great time at this beautiful home! The posted pictures do not do the place justice. The property was clean, well maintained, responsive owners, near activities and restaurants. I definitely recommend this property!

My husband, son, and I just returned home after staying in the loft for 4 nights. The place is fabulous. The pictures really don't do it justice. Dick, the owner, does a personal walk through when you arrive. We rent from VRBO frequently and we've never had an owner show so much hospitality. They also provide a book of brochures for attractions and dining which was really helpful. You will come to appreciate your secure parking space when you see all the other tourists driving around aimlessly. Although you can walk out the front door and be right in the middle of EVERTHING, it's completely quiet. Our son loved the arcade. We ate lunch and dinner in Adam's Cafe just downstairs, and enjoyed both meals. We also went to Hell's Kitchen pizza for lunch and loved it. Garden of the Gods is just a few minutes away. The Cog is up the street; it's walkable, but it's all uphill. Don't buy any souvenirs until you check out the merchandise/prices at the Manitou shops. We did a fair amount of shopping and found that most places have about the same merchandise, but some of the Manitou shops are half the price. We will definitely stay at the loft again when we return to the area. Also, I would suggest Echo Canyon River Rafting. We had a blast! Put in a request for Ben W. for your guide if possible. He really made the trip. Thanks again Dick and Edna, Susie, Dave, and Jonathan

This place is everything advertised and more! It is very clean and feels brand new. The owners respond to emails right away. It is steps from all the best places to eat, drink and play. The reserved parking is a bonus you can not appreciate until you watch everyone else hunt for parking. Relaxing at the loft was exactly what we needed after long days at the zoo and Northpole. Another bonus is Adams Cafe in the same building! We hope to stay again.

The Skylight Loft is a great place to stay in Manitou Springs. The loft is comfortable and well-furnished and is within walking distance of so many things to see and do. We also enjoyed simply relaxing on the balcony or the terrrace. We appreciated the in-person walk-through with the owners upon our arrival. The reserved parking space is a serious advantage in Manitou Springs and made it easy to come and go for sightseeing further away. We would definitely stay here again.

Great loft apartment in the center of the community, you are close to everything in the area. You are 5 min. from Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Cog Railway. Manitou Springs is an artist community and is at a very slow pace which is great for a vacation. The owners have equipped the loft with everything that you will need for an outstanding stay. The loft is a clean well maintained property, they owners provided info on all activities and eating establishments in the area, they even included a trail map of all the hiking trails in the area. My wife and I had an outstanding time and would stay at this property again.

Why the Owner Chose Manitou Springs:
We think Manitou Springs is a world-class destination. The loft provides an urban space in a small mountain town, and it's right in the center of all of the activities from hiking to shopping. The Manitou Spa Building provides lots of history and it's gratifying to know that although the space has different functions than it once did, it's even more beautiful, inviting, and inspiring than ever.
