Location: Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak Area, Colorado, USA
Accommodations: Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible Bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)
MAY SPECIAL: $135.00 per night
Welcome to our Skylight Loft in the historic Manitou Springs Spa Building. You’ll feel it’s rich history the minute you enter the newly renovated building with its lofts, galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, and wine stores in the center of Manitou Springs.
A great place to base your trip and explore the Pikes Peak region and the mountains of Colorado.
The Skylight Loft is spacious (about 950 sq. ft.) features a spectacular 9 x 15 ft skylight––who knew they built skylights 90 years ago? This loft within a loft offers a unique space above the bedroom perfect for reading and relaxing.
French doors ensconced from above and on both sides with panels of paned windows opens onto your private balcony with a bistro table inviting you over for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The mountain views are spectacular, and just below are boutiques, galleries, and award-winning restaurants. Around the corner is the historic arcade with children and adults playing boardwalk games and little ones riding a large selection of coin-operated rides. Listen to the bubbling water and walk across the old stone bridge that spans Fountain Creek, and you’re on Manitou Avenue right in the middle of town!
Back inside the loft, check out the original tile floors, the corner gas fireplace, and the elegant kitchen with glass-accented maple cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a large center island. The loft is furnished with high-end contemporary but comfortable furniture and supplied with sumptuous linens and bath supplies. A stackable washer and dryer are tucked into a convenient laundry closet.
The very large tiled bathroom includes a spacious glass shower and whirlpool tub. And after a busy day you’ll find respite in the comfortable bedroom. More sleeping area is provided on the leather sofa bed in the living room. A Flat Screen TV sits above the fireplace and Free Hi-Speed Wireless internet service is provided.
But that’s not all. . . there are two roof top terraces for the residents and our guests. They are spacious, and the views are inspiring. The creek bubbles below and 11 mineral springs are within easy walking distance of the loft––they all taste different and in years past they were celebrated for their healing powers. You’ll want to try all of them and bring back some for making lemonade. An interesting bit of trivia––the first carbonated drink was made from the Manitou Springs.
Parking is not always easy in our charming mountain town, but if you stay at the loft you’ll have your own designated parking spot in our well-lighted covered, attached garage.
Manitou Springs is an art community––you may be fortunate enough to see a local artist painting one of our beautiful landscapes. And in case biking, hiking, people watching, shopping, and hanging out at Soda Springs Park (just steps away) haven’t exhausted your energy, you’re welcome to our workout room on the lower level.
The loft is supplied with books and information about area attractions and special events, and we try to meet each of you personally––our offices are just down the street. Manitou Springs will capture your heart and you will not want to leave!
We are members of our local and very informative Chamber of Commerce.

Why the Owner Chose Manitou Springs
We think Manitou Springs is a world-class destination. The loft provides an urban space in a small mountain town, and it's right in the center of all of the activities from hiking to shopping. The Manitou Spa Building provides lots of history and it's gratifying to know that although the space has different functions than it once did, it's even more beautiful, inviting, and inspiring than ever.

Great loft apartment in the center of the community, you are close to everything in the area. You are 5 min. from Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Cog Railway. Manitou Springs is an artist community and is at a very slow pace which is great for a vacation. The owners have equipped the loft with everything that you will need for an outstanding stay. The loft is a clean well maintained property, they owners provided info on all activities and eating establishments in the area, they even included a trail map of all the hiking trails in the area. My wife and I had an outstanding time and would stay at this property again.

Everything about this loft was absolutely perfect for us, and we felt right at home the moment we walked in. We entertained friends in the cozy living area near the fireplace, enjoyed cooking (and, truth be told, pillaging the chocolate dish) in the well-stocked kitchen, worked remotely without a hitch via the wireless connection, sat on the balcony with our coffee to take in the gorgeous view, worked out in the private exercise room downstairs, relished a delicious meal in the Adams Mountain Café * downstairs, played pinball in the penny arcade next door, read the paper in the coffee shop downstairs, and strolled through downtown and the park right outside our doorstep. Not only that, but Dick and Edna couldn’t have been better hosts; they made everything so incredibly easy for us. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Thanks again for everything. We’ll definitely be back! * Hint: Rightfully so, there always seems to be a wait to get into the Adams Mountain Cafe. But since we were staying upstairs, we simply put our name on the list and waited in the comfortable loft until they phoned us that our table was ready.

Stayed February 9th - 12th. Had a fantastic stay! Loved the easy convenience of the check-in and check-out and the safeness of the building. Absolutely loved the openess of the loft and the wonderful view. It snowed all day the last day of our stay. Took a hike up to the Barr trail, which is about a mile from the loft (but I strongly recommend driving if you plan on hiking up there), and hiked about 3/4 of the way up. Very exhilarating in the snow. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place.
Owner response:Thanks for the fantastic review. We love it when our guests notice something we haven't mentioned, and you did. You commented on how safe you felt and how easy it was to check in and out. Those two things do help provide a stress-free get-away! We're impressed that you hiked Barr Trail in the snow -- must have been absolutely beautiful. Hopefully we'll meet up with you again when you pay another visit. Happy Travels!

Where do I start… Dick & Edna made this whole process so easy, going so far as to provide accurate directions to the loft along with lots of magazines and brochures on all of the attractions in the area. The loft is appointed with nice comfortable furniture and stocked with all you will need to cook your own meals. For the first few days we enjoyed some of the many fine restaurants in the area before doing some shopping and cooking our own meals in order to save a little money. The fact that the loft was fully stocked made it so easy. My wife and I loved the loft and felt at home the second we got there, the fact that it’s centrally located made it so easy to get to all of the great attractions in the area as well as all the great shopping Manitou has to offer. One of the many memory that will stay with me is the view of the mountains from the balcony. The loft is located directly above an Italian café so as you gaze upon the magnificent mountain view you get hit with the wonderful aroma of fresh brewed espresso. Manitou captured our hearts from the very first day, we had a hearty breakfast at the European café then a lovely lunch at Heart of Jerusalem Cafe (best humus ever!!) and topped it off with a wonderful dinner at Mona Lisa Gourmet Café & Fondue. We also loved to have a few micro-brews at Kinfolks while listening to the local talent perform. It’s such a wonderful town full of kind and friendly people. The area has so much to offer its almost too much to list, here are a few highlights from our trip. Garden of the Gods Manitou Incline (not for the faint of heart) Barr Trail Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak then rode a mountain bike 22 miles to the bottom Echo Canyon Tours white water rafting in the Royal Gorge Cave of the winds lantern tour & Windwalker challenge Hike Red Rock Canyon Seven Falls And so much more, we can’t wait to go back.

Our family of four is enjoying our last night of a four-night stay here at the loft. We don't want to leave! This loft is beautiful and the location can't be beat! The shops and restaurants are just steps away from the Manitou Spa Building. One of the best features is the parking space reserved just for you in the safety of a gated parking garage. Of course the view from the rooftop patio was a favorite for our daughters. If you are coming to Manitou Springs, this is the place to stay! Dick and Edna are wonderful hosts who have thought of everything to make your stay perfect.

My partner and I were going to visit our son at camp in Florissant, and we wanted a little adventure for ourselves. We decided to stay in Manitou, hike the Barr Trail to the top of Pikes Peak, and hang out for day. Dick made everything so simple with staying at their place, and the place is perfect - beautiful amenities, equipped with great soaps and lotions and towels, with the feel of a luxuray hotel room. Besides all that, the place is in a perfect location, right in the center of town. Come and park your car and walk around. We walked from the Loft straight to the base of the Barr Trail, and the jetted tub was great after that crazy hike - 7000 vertical feet in 13.2 miles. The last three miles are above tree line. The whole weekend was marvelous!
Owner response:You guys are impressive hikers! I'm so glad you had a good time. Thanks for noticing the details and the using the phrase "the feel of a luxury hotel." We love our loft and we think Manitou Springs is very special! Edna

We, my wife and I, stayed at the "Skylight Loft" for seven days, it is a wonderful, comfortable, beautiful, and peaceful place to stay. We loved every minute of it. The Loft is centrally located right in Manitou Springs, you can walk to every place in town and most of the other points of interest are just a short drive away. The private, secured parking garage was a big plus, so convenient, parking on the street would have been a real hassle, because there are more cars than spaces unless you don't mind walking a long way, toting your luggage. The Pizza place on Ruxton street was great, The Loop, good mexican food,The Cafe on the bottom floor of the Spa building was excellent also. Lots of neat shops and things to see and do in Manitou Springs, friendly people and a wonderful setting. My wife's highlight of the trip was that we found a Whole Foods Market in Colorado Springs which was just fifteen minutes away, we live in Oklahoma and the closest Whole Foods Market to us is in Dallas, Texas. Anyway we truly enjoyed our stay at "The Skylight Loft" in Manitou Springs, Thank you Dick and Edna for sharing your wonderful place with us! Bob and Sue
Owner response:Thank you for the fantastic review! You covered everything from the great restaurants to the central location. Almost everyone writes in our book on the coffee table but it takes extra effort to comment online. Thank You! Edna

We loved staying here. The Dick & Edna the owners were very nice & met us at the condo to show us around. They also gave us great tips on places to visit & eat in the area. The condo was plenty big enough for the 5 of us; we had 2 adults, 2 teenagers & a 4 year old. The condo overlooks downtown~ but is surprisingly very quiet. It is updated with new furnishings, but with the buildings old charm- it was very comfortable & felt just like home. Dick & Edna were great, we really appreciated all their help.
Owner response:Thanks for taking the time to review the loft online. We also enjoyed the comments in our coffee table book that gave fellow loft renters ideas on what to do and where to eat. Your teenager and her friend just lit up when they saw all the things close by they could do, and I think your little boy was quite taken with the loft above the loft!

We decided to spend our last 3 days (of our 2 week Colorado vacation) in Manitou Springs. While searching for a place to stay I kept coming back to this loft apartment! I am so glad I did! This place was everything described and MORE!!! It is in a perfect location to see the local sights and the arcade below poivided hours of family entertainment! It became our "before bedtime" routine- especially a family round of arcade horse racing! Pikes Peak Cog Train, Cave of Winds and Garden of the Gods are just minutes away! Not too far is the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine (we loved it!) and raftng (either out of Canon City or Buena Vista-we rafted Brown's Canyon out of Buena Vista-wonderful!!) There are a TON of shops and restuarants nearby as well! Our family also enjoyed walking around town and trying all the spring water. All that is needed is a cup or water bottle! This rental is one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything...comfy bed, lots of towels, and a well stocked kitchen! We loved having a full kitchen (perfect for eating leftovers) and a washer/dryer! The kids loved the loft (the games/toys supplied in the loft were a bonus) and the jetted bathtub! The owners are super friendly! I wish we could stay longer- my kids don't want to leave! This was the perfect place for us! Thank you for a great vacation!
Owner response:Thank you! You guys did a lot. I loved hearing how your family enjoyed the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine in Cripple Creek -- I had forgotten to add it to the sights but now I have! Thousands of people go to Cripple Creek in the fall when the Aspen trees turn to liquid gold. Maybe you can come back! We're so glad your children enjoyed the space, the attractions, and the arcade. They were the perfect ages for such an adventure. By the way, now that you are experienced white water rafters why not check out skiing this winter -- only a couple of hours away! Happy magical family vacations. Dick and Edna

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in July, The accomodations were perfect for us. We enjoyed our coffee each morning on the balcony with a spectacular view of the mountains. The loft is very unique in it's decor, the location is very handy to all the shops and restaurants in Manitou. The private parking was fantastic!
Owner response:It was fantastic having such a response from the first renters of our loft as a vacation rental. We think we're going to meet amazing people from all over the country and beyond as we continue in this adventure. Thanks for the review! Dick and Edna
