Enter the front door and you're in your home away from home. It's spacious but comforting.
Bedrooms are decked out with comfy linens. Back porch looks at the garden. Eat in the kitchen or the dining room. On chilly evenings have a fire with the click of a switch.
Jamaica Plain (JP) is a neighborhood within the city of Boston. The house has easy access to the T (our public transit system) — a 15 minute ride to downtown. JP has the feel of a small town but it's definitely part of Boston's urban life. The house is just one block from Jamaica Pond (a 1.5 miles loop around the pond) which is great for walking or running in all seasons — biking, picnics or renting a sailboat in the warmer months.
Just 2 streets away is a new Whole Foods Market. Walk less than 10 minutes and you're in JP center with an array of ethnic restaurants, cafes, pubs and retail stores. This home is a great space in a great neighborhood in a great city - all set up for a great vacation

This comfortable and charming apartment was the perfect alternative to staying in a hotel for our daughter's graduation from Boston University. Everything was clean and just as described on the website. The location is easy to find, and convenient to Boston attractions. There are restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We were able to find street parking within 1-block for our two rental cars. I really liked having a "home" type environment for our family group to gather and visit. The owner was accessible and very helpful when one of our family members needed some medical attention. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental.Owner response: Love it when it works for a family on a special occasion !

Our family gathered last weekend to celebrate our son's graduation from Northeastern University, and we could not have been more pleased with our stay here! Three large bedrooms, full kitchen with walk-in pantry, beautiful dining room and living room. The house is a short walk from great restaurants, grocery stores and a pharmacy. It's a bit of a walk to the T-stations, but we rented a car so we could get out to the north shore for some lobster. Easy street parking, by the way! Our host was gracious and accommodating, and we plan to return soon for another visit, as our son is staying in Boston for a while. Jamaica Pond is just down the road, and it's a beautiful place for a walk.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: What a really nice review !! I'm always so pleased when people are having a significant family event and the apartment just adds to it. By the way. . . . closest train stop is about 1/4 mile away BUT there's a bus right at the corner ! I'm happy to provide direction when people are here. Thanks for the great review — I hope it helps others.

We are 7 people ( 3 childrens and 4 adults). The house was perfect, very clean and very quiet. It's a great place to visit Boston ( 10 mn by walk for the "T"). My children were very happy to find the Easter eggs in the lovely garden. It was very pleasant also to run every morning around Jamaica pond just one block to the house.. Thanks Elaine for your welcome we 'll come back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a great stay. Not fancy, but nice and Rooms (including beds) very comfortable. Great location to use the "T". Perfect for a family of 6 or 7 persons. Our group of 8 was a bit of a stretch, since all beds are for 2 persons. Our group was multi-generational: parents (2), kids (3) and grandkids (3) including 2 pretty small grandkids, one of whom used couch cushions as a bed on the floor. One bathroom may be a bit of a bottle-neck, but worked out for us. Great location to grocery stores, including Whole Foods (closest and most expensive), Stop and Shop, and Harvest (my favorite and better prices than WF for similar items). Nice selection of restaurants nearby (Thai, Mexican (Purple Cactus), Italian, Veggie, Cafe s, etc. We walked to the Stony Brook T station when weather allowed. Otherwise drove and parked at Forest Hills station. One day, the Orange Line service was interrupted. We caught Bus 39 at Copley and it brought us to the nearest intersection a block from the house. We spent most of our time in Boston, but could have spent a day just investigating Jamaica Plain. We love Boston area and hope to go back when weather is better and more sites open for the season. This trip was officially for business, we added the family/fun part. Would love to stay here again. Elaine was a great host. Very prompt replies, Easy to work with.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: It's so great when guests enjoy their stay and found the apartment comfortable. Wish we could add another bathroom but it's just not possible in one of these older Boston houses!

The house is exactly as pictured. Very clean, quiet, and well stocked. Nice neighborhood with shops and restaurants nearby. Rental went very smoothly. Only two minor negatives: the cable is very limited, without even CNN, ESPN or the Weather Channel, and the lighting is a little dim, making reading difficult in the evenings. Definitely bring a book light!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+.

This home was a lovely place for our party of seven, which consisted of four adults and three children. The location provided easy access to the amenities of downtown Boston, but the Jamaica Plain neighborhood was delightful as well. I particularly enjoyed having my morning coffee on the back porch. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, although I confess that we didn't prepare any meals in the home. There is a Whole Foods just down the street, which offered everything we needed. I definitely recommend staying in this charming home!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Nous le recommandons à tous nos amis !Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This was a beautiful, homey place to stay in Boston with all the conveniences-kitchen and beautiful backyard and porch to gather on in the evenings/mornings. The house was immaculate and well supplied with cooking materials. It is within walking distance of restaurants, CVS, and walking trails around a beautiful lake/pond.Owner response: Another happy family. That thrills me.

Stayed 4 nights in June. Rather warm only 1st night (heat wave in Boston) with only one window unit for whole rental, but fans in each room made us more comfortable. After that, nights cooled & we were very comfortable. We enjoyed the back porch in the mornings and cooking together each day. We were only a 5 minute walk to great restaurants and grocery. We walked 10 minutes to the T Station to ride train into Boston each day. Never needed to catch a bus to anywhere. No car needed. Beautiful home & safe neighborhood. Had one maintenance issue & Elaine had it fixed immediately. Would definitely recommend to family or friends traveling Boston. Thanks Elaine!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
