Munich villa description
Villa Solana is fully furnished and equipped single family home with a large private garden. There is a spacious entry hall, an open kitchen, a dining area seating 6-8, a living room with an open fireplace and a cozy sun room. The whole wall separating the garden from dining room, living room, sun room area is made of glass and large sliding glass doors which creates a sense of space and is wonderful for inside/outside living.
Upstairs you find a master bedroom with walk-in closet, an infant / toddler room (fully equipped), and another bedroom with 2 beds. The upstairs bathroom has shower over tub, one sink, toilet. The downstairs area offers a dry sauna, a shower / resting room with garden access, another bedroom with single (or pulls out to queen) bed and a newly renovated guest toilet with sink. All bedrooms have French doors either to the balcony or the front garden (very private thanks to thick hedge).
Gruenwald is a suburban village right on the southern edge of Munich. The Bavaria Film Studios are here, the river Isar flows through, and you can easily explore the lakes, mountains and even Salzburg from this location. Sailing, skiing, ... all within an hour's drive ! It takes 20 minutes to town in the car, or about 30 minutes with the picturesque tram.
Our housekeeper Latine would be delighted to help you, shop for you, cook for you, babysit for you...all at an extra charge.

First, I must say Christina, the property manager, was everything you could ask for, timely in all requests or calls we made for assistance. The property was as advertised and actually was more spacious than we expected. We had 3 couples and 2 single men and we were all very comfortable with the accomodations. The tram, which we took into Munich each day, runs from downtown Gruenwald every 15 min or so and is a 7 Euro cab ride away or a 20 minute walk. Gruenwald has everything you need so we were very comfortable. Perfect for families or groups of 6-8 traveling together. I would stay here again.

Home away from home!
Home away from home!
Recently returning from a family vacation in Southern Germany, we are a family of 10 (8 adults and 2 children) and were delighted to call the Villa Solana in Gruenwald our home away from home! We found the accommodations to be as described with ample sleeping room and spacious common areas for relaxing after our daily excursions. Our grandchildren especially loved the backyard for playing soccer and a nearby playground for running off energy! Gruenwald is a beautiful, quiet and very welcoming village. We can attest to several outstanding eating establishments there as well! We found the public transportation into and around Munich to be easy and efficient and we visited this city often enjoying its many sites including the English Garden, Oktoberfest festivities and the Dachau Memorial. We also explored areas south of Munich via car including Salzburg, Austria, the Eagles Nest, Oberammergau and the Neuschwanstein castle. Thank you, Insa and Christine for answering our numerous questions prior to arriving and for your warm hospitality at the Villa Solana while we explored your beautiful country of Germany.

The Perfect Place
The Perfect Place
If you are traveling and want a spacious, clean, well decorated, comfortable home with comfortable beds, in a nice, safe, quiet neighborhood, then this is the perfect place. The home was just as described online. Not only does the home have what you might expect, but has many of the extra things you might not: A handy, full size washer and dryer, Computer, with high speed internet and a printer, Sat. TV so I could watch the world cup, and a beautiful garden in back where my 10 year old could play. Villa Solana, is conveniently located just outside of Munich in the town of Gruenwald. There, we tried several good restaurants and stocked the home’s well appointed kitchen from the stores of the local markets. During our 3 night stay, we took the train into central Munich twice. The local train station is only about 8 min. by car from the home, and then it was just another 15 min .or so to Munich on the speed train. Also, we took day trips to Ludwig’s castle and Oberammergau. What turned this into a five star place for us was Christine, the home manager. Christine was wonderful. She was very flexible for weary travelers arriving a bit late, and very helpful in pointing out good restaurants and other helpful tips for the area. We were welcomed with some fresh fruit and even some fresh flowers. I suspect Christine cleans the home because it was immaculate. Villa Solana, for this seasoned traveler, was a restful place. It was a comfortable place. In our 4 weeks in Europe, it was by far the nicest placed we stayed in. I would highly recommend this home. Like I said, it was a perfect place.
