The Laurance Family home has been at the corner of Granite and Laurel streets for more than 80 years now. Standing tall, this delightful Victorian is centrally located in the charming town of Pacific Grove. It's but a short walk to Lover's Point beach and downtown. Our home is ideal for a family interested in touring 17 Mile Drive, Point Lobos or Big Sur. Golfers will be very close to all of the great courses in the area: Pacific Grove Municipal, Spyglass, Poppy Hills, Spanish Bay and Pebble Beach are all but a short drive from the house. Shoppers are close to the outlets and the shops of Carmel. Our world class aquarium and Cannery Row are nearby as well. Enjoy lounging in a comfortable living room with fireplace and large screen, high-definition television. House is wireless Internet equipped as well. Three bedrooms upstairs sleep two each. Couches downstairs pull-out for overflow. Fully-equipped kitchen and sunlit breakfast nook. Dining room seats 12 comfortably.
Ideal morning
Walk downtown for a newspaper and pastries. Return to house for coffee in the sunlit breakfast nook. Take a long walk down to Lover's Point and along the coast trail to Asilomar Beach. For runners, try the trail that goes to Fisherman's Wharf and back (about 6 miles round trip).
Ideal afternoon outing
Drive down highway one to Big Sur (about one hour). Check out Andrew Molera or one of the other amazing state parks. Stop for lunch on the way back at the River Inn. Enjoy a cool drink while dipping your toes in the Big Sur River. Stop at Point Lobos or downtown Carmel on the way home.
Ideal evening
Twilight back nine at Pacific Grove Municipal. Dinner at Roy's in Spanish Bay resort. Walk thru the dunes on the lighted boardwalks. A nightcap by the fire.

When our family decided to visit our son, who has moved to San Francisco, we knew we would only have a couple of days to "steal" him away from his job and enjoy family time. We could not have picked a better place than this wonderfully charming Victorian home in Pacific Grove. Everything about this home says comfort, relaxation, and family. The arrangements by the owner prior to our stay were perfect and quite accommodating. The house was clean, well appointed, and simply a glorious place to spend some quality time together. The location is perfect for doing a day trip to Big Sur and Point Lobos. We hiked and enjoyed the views. Dinners were spent in both Monterey and Pacific Grove. The extra large shower in the upstairs bathroom was great and the beds were quite comfortable. The neighborhood is full of architecturally interesting houses and the nights were totally quiet and great for sleeping! We highly recommend this great family home and hope to come back for another longer visit!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and another family recently stayed at the Laurence home for 4 nights. Truly amazing! Very roomy home with all the amenities. Bedrooms were nice and cozy and the separate dining area and tv area were great. We had two toddlers with us and they were able to play in the tv area while the adults played cards at the table. The location was perfect...close to the cofee shops, small playground and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks Dave!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Had a wonderful vacation/family reunion staying in the Laurance family home. It was warm, comfortable and had plenty of room for 4 adults. We found it close to all the locations that we needed to see, and met wonderful people in the shops on Lighthouse Ave. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Laurance Home. We were pleased to find everything as described in the rental descritption and more. The basement bedroom is great-especially for a teen. The 3 upstairs bedrooms are spacious and my favorite, the middle room with crescent window, is great for a daily nap. We enjoyed quality time preparing meals in the large kitchen, which is adequately equipped. We took my parents, who are seniors and they loved it, this is a comfortable and cheerful setting for seniors to enjoy. The location of the house is really convenient. The aquarium, outlet stores, restaurants, boutiques, grocery store and even a Catholic church are all within walking distance. So much to see and do; daily activities included bike riding to Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, long walks, jogging and time at the beach where we were amused by playful sea otters and Harbor seals. The beach area, parks and museums, also only a few blocks away- great for young children. We drove to nearby Carmel and Big Sur, and then spent evenings in the family room next to a cozy fire. Had a great time at this charming Victorian home, recommending this family vacation spot to friends and family.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

A group of 5 friends stayed in the house for a wedding. The house was centrally located to everything. We took morning walks to get breakfast and watch the seals daily. Even spent a morning at the Aquarium and 17 mile drive, two things that must be done if you stay at this house. We were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. The owner, Dave, was great and made the rental process as smooth as possible.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We spent this past Christmas in this lovely, charming Victorian and enjoyed it very much. It was very nice to feel at home when we were away from home. The house is very close to downtown Pacific Grove and within walking distance to many restaurants. We had a nice stroll to a local cafe for breakfast, and our boys played at a playground nearby. My father-in-law liked it so much that he's already thinking of returning in the summer!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This large, very comfortable old house is close to many of our favorite places by the coast, and it was an easy walk to some of them. Though old, the house is well-kept, with modern conveniences, and has a great window seat overlooking the garden. There were four adults and a nine year old boy in our party, and plenty of room for us all to relax in at the end of our days of sightseeing. (Not surprisingly, the network was overwhelmed when four of us tried to surf the web at the same time, but we adapted.) We really appreciated the efforts of our greeter and the owners to make it a good stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had such a wonderful time at this house. We all felt as though we were "at home". It was very quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. We had 5 people that stayed over night, and then a family of 4 come for the day, and we were not crammed at all. There was lots of space for everyone to do their own thing. The owners were also really pleasant to work with. Our family looks forward to visiting again sometime soon! I would definitely recommend this house if you are looking for something in the Monterey, PG area.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here with our family for 3 nights. The house was so comfortable and relaxing. We loved that it was close to downtown Pacific Grove and we could walk to restaurants and parks. We had a great vacation and enjoyed hanging out in the house with our family as well as all the fun that Monterey has to offer. The house was very clean and well maintained. We loved having all the blankets around to snuggle in. The owners were wonderful. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in the Monterey Bay Area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
