Owner info
Year Purchased: 1892
About the owner: David is one of two fourth generation owners. The first member of the sixth generation is almost five years old. We have all spent summers and vacations here and have wonderful memories. We welcome the opportunity to help you create yours.
Why the Owner Chose South Yarmouth:
Our Great Grandmother, bought the house in 1892 from Melissa Baker. Mrs. Baker and her husband purchased the property shortly after the Civil War from Elijah Parker. The Barnstable County Registry of Deeds burned about this time and there are no definitive records available prior to that purchase. An 1858 map shows the house with Mr. Parker listed as owner. A large copy of this map is on the dining room wall. We have a wonderful book explaining the map and showing details of the Cape from that period. One of the window panes has, "E J Parker" etched on it.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
What can I say? The house is a gem. Bass River is a wonderful place for family and friends. The house is a unifying focal point for the current three generations of our family. We have first, second and third cousins we see on a regular basis. No matter where we live or how far we travel this is our spiritual home. We love to share it and, if this sounds attractive, we look forward to hearing from you.
