Owner response: Hi Colin, thanks for the review! So glad you enjoyed our apartment as a "first landing place," during your transition from across the country to a new job in the SF Bay Area. Most of our guests stay for one month or more (like you did), but if you'd like to come back for a shorter stay, let us know, as we are sometimes able to accommodate. Good luck at the new job, and best wishes in the new year. Warmly, Rachel and Jeff

Rachel and Jeff have a beautiful place, a quiet and cozy nest to stay in one od the best neighborhoosds in San Francisco. Everything in the apartment is useful and full of joy! The place is packed with everything you need for a vacation: they even have razors in case you forgot yours! The kitchen is fully equipped, and very generous. Everything they offer on the web page is provided, and more! It is a nice touch to arrive so late at night and find flowers, fruits, cereal, bread, and more food in the refrigerator: your first breakfast is ready! There is so much storage space, and the laundry works perfect. We walked through the neighborhood to find groceries, cafés, restaurants, bike shops, pilates, you name it! Rachel and Jeff are ALWAYS available to answer your requests (if there is any!). My wife and I found that we now have the perfect place to stay in the perfect city. Thank you very much Rachel and Jeff, for having created such a wonderful place, and for being such excelent hosts!

I stayed for 6 weeks in this quiet, clean and excellently located studio. If you want to have the real San Francisco experience - meaning living like the locals - this is the right place. The renting procedure was easy and fast, the owners responded always immediately to my questions. The owners are very correct and extremely helpful. When I arrived, Rachel provided me with lots of books, maps and DVDs of films made in San Francisco! What is really excellent is that you are provided with a free transit pass so that you can use all public transport means in San Francisco. The studio is located in Noe Valley, a beautiful neighborhood with beautiful houses, which might seem for a tourist a bit far in the south of the city. However, with public transport, one is easily in 15-20 minutes in the city center (the studio is in walking distance to the airport BART!). As mentioned in the ad, the studio has wifi, a laptop and even a printer, which simplified my life enormously (I studied in San Francisco). One has direct access from the studio into a beautiful sunny garden. During my stay, the owners purchased a table and chairs so that I had my own, semi-private place in the garden. Thank you very much, Rachel and Jeff, I really enjoyed staying at your place!

The appartment is great and very well appointed. We were very happy with our choice and were impressed with the owner's attention to details. After we left, we were waiting for the reimbursement of our security deposit. I contacted Rachel because I thought it would have been done right away. She didn't reply immediately because she was busy/away with family matters (which I completely understood once I knew). Because she had been so ''hands on'' since the beginning, I began to feel a little worried if I would get my money back (being thousands of miles away...). Anyway, it was all a misunderstanding and I finally got my security deposit back in a timely manner, but through all of this I was disappointed with Rachel's reaction to my worries. She was really offended that I even considered I could lose my money. She was very defensive in her emails and pushy... I finally just asked her to not write to me anymore (which she respected). I was hoping she would have been more considerate... I waited a long time before writing this review because I don't want her to lose any renters... but in the end I felt it was important to share this experience. Again, the appartment is great, the location is good, Rachel was very helpful. Thank you.

Owner response: I am very pleased to see the wonderful 4-star review of our guest apartment from Kathy. In addition, I'm surprised to see that Kathy is still upset about a security deposit that I refunded IN FULL, only 7 days after her departure, nearly 8 months ago. As we say at SF Vacation Hut, "If it's important to you, it's important to us!" So ... I will respond. First, I would like to clear up exactly what happened here. Upon receipt of Kathy's initial message regarding the status of her security deposit, I responded immediately, cordially reassuring her that I was away on vacation and would return her deposit as soon as I got back. Luckily, that very same day I spied a "common use" computer in Yosemite and was able to process her deposit refund right away (a few days EARLIER than promised). Unfortunately, after my cordial message, Kathy began writing to me in a threatening tone. When I got back from vacation, I explained the situation and asked Kathy to apologize for her suspicious and threatening tone, especially given that I had already returned the deposit a few days prior. Not only did Kathy refuse to apologize, she asked that I never respond again, and I gladly obliged. :) Sadly, upon reading Kathy’s review, I see that she never understood what was wrong. She wrote here (about me) "She was really offended that I even considered I could lose my money." This underscores how completely Kathy misunderstood. In fact, I was not offended AT ALL when Kathy asked about the status of her deposit. I only became offended when Kathy began using a suspicious and threatening tone, AFTER I had assured her, in writing, that indeed she would be getting a full refund. Despite all of that, I do love that Kathy gave such a glowing review of the apartment, and my helpfulness and responsiveness throughout most of the process. Jeff and I enjoy creating a wonderful stay for our guests, from beginning to end, and we were sad to see the misunderstanding arise. After the incident with Kathy, we added the following to our guest rules: "The funds remaining in your security deposit will be refunded after your check-out and final cleaning, as soon as your hosts may conveniently do so, and no more than 21 days after your departure, per California state law." The prior wording was "as soon as possible after departure," and I realize this can mean different things to different people. :) We hope this clears things up for all future guests!

This was the second time I've stayed at this apartment and I can honestly say the experience was even better than the first time which I didn't think was possible. The apartment has every amenity you can think of including a washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, a safe and even a laptop with WiFi Internet access, printer, and camera so you can Skype. There's a wide selection of movies including many filmed in San Francisco as well as lots of books, travel guides and maps. The bed is incredibly comfortable and I always get the best sleep while I'm here. The location is excellent if you want to be in a more residential area as opposed to a downtown location. Noe Valley is vibrant and hip with lots of independently owned-coffee shops, stores, markets, etc. I like it because as a woman traveling alone I feel extremely safe. Rachel and Jeff are the owners and are hands down the factor that makes this such a wonderful rental. They go out of their way to make everything comfortable and inviting like having fresh-cut flowers inside when you arrive. Jeff even made a special trip to pick up a box I shipped out beforehand that contained some dietary items that I didn't want to haul on the plane. They are friendly and available to answer questions but aren't overly instrusive. Did I mention the Clipper pass? They even provide a pre-paid card that allows you to ride the buses, light-rail, and cable cars at no expense to you. Out back is a lovely garden with benches, chairs, lovely plants and flowers. It's like being in your own little secret garden. Very charming and comfortable. My only reservation about writing such an honestly glowing review is that the apartment won't be available next time I come! My husband and I have traveled all over the world and stayed in many rental apartments, condos, and houses. This is one of the best and I give it my highest recommendation. Thanks Rachel and Jeff for another great stay!!

Rachel is such a considerate host. We arrived in late evening but she arrange so well that we have no problem in entering into the house. The whole place is equipped with everything needed for normal daily life of a small family. There's even a girl's robe for our 7-year-old daughter. We enjoyed the books there. The only part we feel not satisfied is the stay is too short to us.

My sister and I recently enjoyed a stay at the Vacation Hut. The apartment is better than advertised and the neighborhood is wonderful. Jeff and Rachel pay meticulous attention to detail, from providing wonderful snacks and food for us to a plethora of books, maps and helpful tips to San Francisco. Transportation into downtown was just steps away and it was a pleasure to roam the neighborhood with all the shops and restaurants. The local folks are extremely helpful and very friendly. We hated to come home as we wanted to keep on California Dreaming!

Absolutely loved SF Vacation Hut. My husband and I spent a week here (mid May 2011) We came to SF to celebrate our 38th anniversay. I cannot stress enough how perfect this place is. With airline travel being what it is now, here are all things you don’t need to pack because Rachel and Jeff provide them, they really care about their guests you can see it in their attention to all the details. Thank you guys!!! Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, laundry detergent/softener yes they have a washer and dryer (how great is that?) don’t need to bring the laptop they have that too, coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, breakfast items. Another thing you DO NOT need is a rental car. You came here to relax, who needs the extra expense of a rental car, gas, parking and the added stress of driving around in a city you don’t know? Arguing with your spouse about which way to go?? Forget it, this is one city where public transit is so good it will take you anywhere you want to go, and all you have to do is walk a couple of blocks in any direction and catch a train. So Awesome! After you’ve unpacked and get a feel for your surroundings you will start to see that you made the right choice by selecting this place. A couple of block in either direction you can catch either the MUNI or street car J-Church will take you all the way downtown within walking distance of everything you want to see, it is a bit of walking but it’s ok, you’ll be glad to be walking since there is so much great food and you don’t want to deprive yourself of anything, the great sourdough bread the cheeses the wine, I could go on and on.. Once you’re downtown from there you can take any number of street cars to get to everything, we took them to get to Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, The Presidio, Ghirardelli Sq. We also took a day trip to Napa Valley booked through Napa Experience Tour with Ferry Cruise highly recommend this one. From SF vacation hut we walked to the Castro neighborhood is a good walk uphill, downhill but there’s so much to see along the way it does not disappoint. Like I said before the vacation hut has everything you need including pots/pans utensils coffee maker, toaster microwave, we chose not to cook so that we could sample all the great restaurants and cafes in the area, so glad we did what a treat! This is another good reason to walk whenever you can, if you know what I mean?

Four vases of flowers. Our names welcoming us on the whiteboard. A note by the door. A basket of insanely delicious treats—chocolate, crumpets, local jam, artichoke pesto, macaroons. And, yes, even toilet paper tied like a rose. Rachel's hospitality is incredible. That alone makes the SF Vacation Hut the BEST place I've ever stayed. From the moment we booked, Rachel became our unofficial travel planner for San Francisco. Restaurants, grocery stores, evening entertainment, local treasures, hiking spots—she sent us plenty of options, all with our schedule and interests in mind. She even created an "itinerary" for one day, complete with a Google map plotting each destination. My husband and I are both vegans, which can make meals on vacation ... challenging. Not so with Rachel: She sent detailed descriptions of the best vegan eats in town, including their proximity to the apartment. Chinatown? Breakfast diner? Donuts? Mexican? She has every craving covered. And, of course, everything in our gift basket was vegan. The apartment was gorgeous, roomy, clean, and designed very intentionally. Don't worry about luggage or kids—there's plenty of space. The bed is unbelievably comfortable. The kitchen has everything you'd need, from a coffee grinder and pots to rarer items like a juicer, garlic press, and pretty drink glasses. As another reviewer mentioned, Rachel also stocks the apartment with thoughtful touches like umbrellas, robes, a sewing kit, DVDs, tour books, and maps that have nearby restaurants and attractions marked. The laptop is wonderful too; it's already hooked up to wireless and a printer. We didn't even bring ours on the trip! Finally, if the hospitality and apartment aren't enough, the location is excellent. It's quiet, safe, and close to both public transportation and awesome shops. You definitely feel like you're staying in the *real* San Francisco there! If you're visiting the area soon, don't hesitate to book the SF Vacation Hut. Hands down, it was the best decision we made for our vacation!

my husband and i spent the holiday week in san francisco. we chose this property because of its close proximity to our son's home. this was our first experience using vrbo and we were a little concerned about what we might find. what a great decision to stay here! the apartment is a studio but has a large bathroom, full kitchen and laundry room, all well stocked. there is plenty of storage for getting suitcases and travel gear out of the way so the suite feels roomy. it is comfortably furnished and immaculately clean. the location is a wonderful place to experience and enjoy all of san francisco. the j church train is a few blocks from the suite - a 15 minute ride into the heart of san francisco. fare is $2.00, $.75 for seniors so seeing all the downtown tourist sites is doable without a car. there are other trains going out to golden gate park where the academy of science and tea garden are a short walk from the bus stop. but spending time in noe valley is a must! this quaint neighborhood is one of the warmer, sunnier locations in the city, filled with restored homes and gardens that you can only find in san francisco. wonderful restaurants, parks, playgrounds, coffee shops and shops of all descriptions are nearby. both church and 24th street, an easy, flat walk from the suite, are filled with small shops of all descriptions- cheese shops, toy shops, jewelry - so many boutiques with one of a kind gems. on the other end of the shopping spectrum large grocery stores and a chain drugstore are a short walk from the suite so dining in is easy. dining out in noe valley is amazing- so many choices, so many cuisines, all so accessible. don't miss the ice cream shop for dessert! parts of noe valley valley are VERY hilly- steep grades that are a workout just getting in and out of the apartment. this suite is very user friendly- located on a flat street, adjacent to flat streets that make walking the neighborhoods very doable. rachel's hospitality is incredible, better than the best hotels we have ever stayed at. the suite has so many extras to make your stay comfortable, she has thought of everything. she is available if you need something but invisible if you prefer privacy. we have visited san francisco/noe vally many times. this visit was especially wonderful and our accommodations made all the difference.

                  Cancellation policy:

View details about the apartment's amenities at www.sfvacationhut.com. We have found that a written Agreement outlining fully our mutual understanding of the rights and obligations affecting both you (“Guest,” or “You”) and us (“the Host,” "Owner," "I," or “We”) throughout the course of our rental relationship is the best way to ensure that the parties have indeed reached and do share such an understanding. It is our consistent intention to deal with our Guests fairly and with complete integrity, to help relieve the stress often involved in arranging for lodging in a faraway place, and (in short) to offer the most positive lodging experience possible throughout the entire course of your stay. We regard the opportunity to host you as a privilege, and genuinely want to meet or even exceed your expectations. We ask that you carefully review the following terms, and to please bring to our attention any questions or concerns you might have, no matter how small. If a matter is important to you, it is also important to us. This is intended and understood to be a legally binding agreement. 1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3:00 P.M. Pacific. CHECK-OUT IS 10 A.M. Pacific, unless otherwise agreed by Guest and Host in writing. 2. This is a NON SMOKING unit. 3. PET POLICY – Pets are NOT allowed at SF Vacation Hut. 4. RESERVATION DEPOSIT - A reservation deposit of at least $250.00 ($1000.00 for “monthly” guests) is required to reserve SF Vacation Hut in your name for the nights requested. The reservation deposit goes toward your first payment (occupancy fee or rent) and is not refundable for cancellations made after the cancellation deadline. 4. SECURITY DEPOSIT – The security deposit of $250 (weekly guests) or $500 (monthly guests) is due 14-15 days before the scheduled arrival date. The funds remaining in your security deposit will be refunded after your check-out, as soon as your hosts may conveniently do so, and no more than 21 days after your departure, per California state law. The full amount of funds remaining in your security deposit will be returned, provided the following provisions are met. a. No damage to the apartment or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear. b. Complimentary transit passes (when provided on the Clipper smart card) have been left on the kitchen counter for use by the next guests. c. No charges due to illegal activity, undisclosed pets, or undisclosed guests during the stay. d. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in dumpster, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned (or left clean on the drying rack). e. The countertops, stove, oven and refrigerator have been wiped down, and the spoiled or opened food has been cleared out of the refrigerator; the apartment has been left reasonably clean and tidy, such that it can be cleaned and made ready for the next guests, with the usual maid service turnaround time. f. No linens or other apartment fixtures are lost, missing, or damaged; books, DVDs, not-for-free tourist maps, laptop computer, webcam, printer, hair dryer, and the like, have been returned. g. No vehicle or other large items have been abandoned in the driveway or on the premises (damages may be assessed for the cost of removal and/or return postage costs). h. The windows and doors must be securely locked any time the guests leave the apartment during their stay at SF Vacation Hut. Upon departure, the unit must be left with the windows closed and locked, and the front and back doors locked. i. The cost of any damages caused by the guest, or his or her invited guests, has been paid to the Hosts (owners) prior to departure. If any of these provisions are not satisfied, only the amount of the actual damages will be deducted from the deposit. Smaller items left behind may be mailed back to the guest (at the owner's discretion), with the postage and shipping costs removed from the security deposit. 5. CANCELLATION DEADLINE – The cancellation deadline is 60 DAYS prior to your scheduled arrival date. To qualify for a full refund of the reservation deposit and / or any other monies paid, you must cancel in writing (e-mail: sfvacationhut@gmail.com) on or before the cancellation deadline. After the cancellation deadline, there will be no refunds. INITIAL HERE: __________ 6. MODIFIED DATES – Prior to the cancellation deadline, if the guest would like to request a shortened stay or modified dates, a new contract should be agreed upon within 48 hours; if not, the original reservation may be canceled by either party (Host or Guest) for a full refund. After the cancellation deadline, there will be no refunds for modified dates. Notice of change in arrival / departure dates must be made in writing to sfvacationhut@gmail.com. INITIAL HERE: __________ 7. EARLY DEPARTURE. Notice of early departure means you agree to forfeit any prepaid amounts for the nights remaining in your reservation, whether you use them or not. Notice of early departure must be made in writing to sfvacationhut@gmail.com. INITIAL HERE: __________ 8. RE-BOOKING UNUSED NIGHTS. After the cancellation deadline, the hosts are not required to try to re-rent your unused nights. However, if we do re-book some of your unused nights to a third party, we will refund the nightly rate that you originally paid for those nights, minus a 20% rebooking fee. INITIAL HERE: __________ 9. SUBLETTING BY THE TENANTS OR “GUESTS” IS NOT ALLOWED. This lease agreement prohibits the tenant or “guest” specified in this payment contract from subletting the apartment to third parties, whether on a short-term or long-term basis. If you will be out of town and unable to use the apartment for some period of time, you may request that your lease agreement be split into multiple parts, with a vacancy in the middle; this would allow the owners or “hosts” to book your unused nights to a third party. Any request for a split-rental would be subject to Sections 6, 7, and 8 of this agreement. Also note that the city’s hotel tax and tourism fees will be incurred for any split-rental portion that is 30 days or less. 10. TERMINATION OF TENANCY OR EXTENSION OF STAY. The tenancy automatically terminates on the check-out date agreed upon by the Guest and Host in the attached Payment Contract. A guest wishing to remain in the apartment beyond the check-out date specified in the attached Payment Contract should submit a request, in writing, to sfvacationhut@gmail.com. If a new Payment Contract cannot be agreed upon by both parties, prior to the check-out date, the Guest agrees to vacate the apartment by the date and time specified in the existing Payment Contract. 11. TRAVEL INSURANCE - If you would like to be insured against cancellation, you may choose to purchase Travel Insurance. Below are some references you may contact to purchase such insurance. You can do an internet search to find more. • InsureMyTrip.com, 800-487-4722 • TravelGuard.com, 800-826-4919 • AccessAmerica.com, 800-284-8300 12. PAYMENT – The “Total Bill”, which includes the occupancy fee or rent, cleaning fee, applicable taxes and other fees as agreed upon in the payment contract, is due according to the schedule below. If payments are not made and received on time, the owner of SF Vacation Hut may cancel your reservation, and you may lose your reservation deposit or other payments already made. • Payment Schedule for Weekly Guests: $250 reservation deposit is due upon booking. Fifty percent (50%) of the “Total Bill” must be paid by twenty-eight (28) days prior to your arrival date (the amount due is generally 50% minus the $250 that has already been paid); and the remaining amount of the "Total Bill" is due fourteen (14) days prior to your arrival date. The $250 security deposit is due 14 days prior to your arrival date. • Payment Schedule for Monthly Guests: $1000 reservation deposit is due upon booking. Payment for the remaining balance is due thirty (30) days prior to your arrival date. The $500 security deposit is due 15 days prior to your arrival date. 13. FORMS OF PAYMENT & RELATED FEES – Payment can be made via personal check sent in the mail (U.S. / domestic bank accounts only), Echeck (U.S. / domestic bank accounts only), credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover), PayPal (bank-to-bank transaction, with personal tab) or bank wire (domestic and international transactions). Echeck and credit card payments are accepted over the phone or via our online payment system. Personal checks should be made payable to the name and address provided in the Payment Contract. 14. STANDARD OCCUPANCY and NATURE OF USE - Occupancy is limited to two adults and up to two small children (babies or toddlers, children up to age 10). This is to realistically enhance your experience during your stay. While SF Vacation Hut can sleep up to 4 individuals, in a queen size bed, fold-out futon, and optional baby crib … be aware that all sleeping accommodations are in the same room. It is a studio apartment, and there is no separate bedroom. An additional occupancy fee may be charged for more than 2 guests age 11 and older. Children up to age 10 (accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult) stay for free. 15. MINIMUM STAY - THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A SEVEN (7) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY (ONE WEEK). Shorter stays generally require payment for a full week. Guests staying less than 1 week follow the same payment rules as “weekly guests.” 16. INCLUSIVE FEES - The occupancy fee includes the cost of utilities (water, gas, electricity, and and garbage pick-up). Instead of cable, the TV is connected to an HDTV antenna which receives 20 - 40 channels, including the major TV networks. Rates include initial cleaning fee and use of the in-unit laundry facilities, wi-fi (wireless internet), laptop computer, and land line telephone with free domestic (U.S. and Canada) long distance calls. NOTE: International calls require a calling card. 17. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - The rental rate includes the initial cleaning to make the apartment ready for your stay. There is no daily or weekly maid service, unless specified in the Payment Contact. Complimentary refills on cleaning supplies are included with the apartment. The guest is responsible for leaving the apartment tidy upon departure. This includes loading and running the dishwasher or leaving clean dishes on the drying rack. If the apartment requires cleaning or trash removal beyond the ordinary, cleaning fees may be deducted from your security deposit. 18. BED LINENS, TOWELS, & LAUNDRY FACILITIES - All bed linens and towels are provided, as well as dish washing and laundry detergents. Please do not remove any bed linens or towels from the apartment. Prior to departure, please put used bath or kitchen towels in the laundry hampers, so the cleaning staff will quickly know which ones need to be laundered. Please leave the linens on the bed; the housekeeper will take care of cleaning the sheets and bed linens. 19. DRIVEWAY PARKING (OFF STREET) – Driveway parking may be arranged and will incur an additional rate. It is tandem parking, meaning that the guest car blocks access to the property owners’ garage. Thus, when parked, you will need to keep your car keys in an exterior lock box. The property owners (Hosts) may need to move your car in and out to access their own vehicle. Blocking the garage while failing to leave keys in the lockbox may result in towing of the vehicle at guest’s expense. The guest car must fit within the driveway dimensions, as noted at www.sfvacationhut.com, or as specified in the Payment Contract. 20. STREET PARKING – Limited street parking is available for free in front of the house, and 24-hour parking is available one block away on Dolores Street. Additionally, you may purchase a visitor parking pass sold by the SFMTA. Parking fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. 21. RATE CHANGES - Rates published at www.sfvacationhut.com, VRBO.com, FlipKey.com, HomeAway.com, or other listings are subject to change without notice. Once your payment contract is agreed upon, your rates will remain as specified in the contract. 22. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of payments, deposit and other fees paid, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. 23. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY – The Hosts are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the Guests. Purchasing renter’s insurance or homeowner’s insurance is strongly encouraged to protect your own valuables and belongings from theft or loss, whether you are in your own home or traveling. 24. GUESTS. The Guest must provide the Host with a list of the first and last names of everyone in the Guest Party, using the Guest Information Form provided via e-mail. People other than those listed in the Guest Party may not stay overnight at the property, without prior approval by the Host. The Primary Guest responsible for payment also assumes responsibility for ensuring that any person spending time at the property is aware of and willing to abide by the Guest Rules. 25. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS - Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. For the mutual convenience of the parties, it is understood and agreed that by making payment as requested, I (the Guest) shall have acknowledged and consented to all terms and conditions of this agreement (Guest Rules and the attached Payment Contract) on behalf of myself and those in my party. The date of this Agreement shall be the same as the date first payment has been made.

100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.

                    Chloe's Cafe View on map

Chloe's Cafe is the "go-to" breakfast / brunch spot in Noe Valley. It's "cash only" and typically very crowded on weekends, but we found that we could get a table no problem if we show up around 2:30 p.m. (They close at 3 p.m.) Chloe's Cafe is located about an 8-minute walk from SF Vacation Hut.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: We are Jeff and Rachel, the owners of SF Vacation Hut; we live in the apartment upstairs. We love swing dancing, hiking, live music, record stores, vegan food, outdoor street festivals, and going for long walks or bike rides all over town. We have a combined total of 30 years of experience living in San Francisco and would be happy to help answer your questions about our city.

Why the Owner Chose Noe Valley:
We are in one of the sunniest parts of town, right next to the Mission. It's easy to walk to the J-Church light rail line (only 5 minutes), as well as shopping and night life in Bernal Heights, Noe Valley, and the Mission. We are next to the 'bike freeway,' aka Valencia Street, which connects easily to the 'Wiggle,' leading to the Panhandle, Golden Gate Park, and Ocean Beach (one of Rachel's favorite rides). Within a 5-minute (very flat) walk you'll find Noeteca coffee & wine bar, Locavore (our hippest new restaurant), Martha's Coffee, Baby Blues BBQ, Amberjack Sushi, Safeway, New Alternatives Cafe, 26th & Guerrero Natural Foods, THE FRONT PORCH, Luv a Java, Mitchell's Ice Cream, Mi Lindo Peru, and Omnivore Books (a whole bookstore just for cookbooks!). Yes, this is Foodie Heaven. We're a quick (20 minutes) uphill hike to the top of Bernal Heights. On the way up, you'll follow an enchanting garden stairway, with a slide (for kids and kids at heart) that matches the contour of the hill. When you get to the top, you'll be rewarded with VIEWS VIEWS VIEWS! Including Golden Gate Bridge, the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge, Twin Peaks ... don't miss it! We're a 20-minute walk from the wonderful people watching and city views at Dolores Park. It's easy to get to Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Chinatown, Alcatraz, SF Museum of Modern Art, and the cable cars from SF Vacation Hut ... just take the J-Church or BART to get downtown; then, either walk or take the cable cars, trolleys, buses, or historic streetcars. (From the BART station, it's only a 5-minute train ride to get downtown.) Noe Valley is a large neighborhood, geographically; 'our part' of Noe Valley has easy access to the 280 freeway via San Jose Avenue and the 101 freeway via Cesar Chavez. We are less than a 20-minute taxi ride from SFO Airport (24 min. on BART), 30 min. drive from Oakland's airport, and 60 min. from San Jose Airport. You'll be amazed by how convenient everything is!

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Our guest apartment is very clean and new; we've taken care to furnish it as a calming retreat from a busy day on the outside. We call it SF Vacation Hut because it is a true studio with only one room (aside from the hallway, bathroom, and laundry room) where everything happens ... cooking, sleeping, working, and relaxing ... so you could say its a modern version of the 'family hut' from traditions gone by. We (Jeff and Rachel) live upstairs and want to help you have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. As mentioned in the main description, you'll love the welcome package, with breakfast foods, social beverages, fresh flowers and chocolates, included! We've taken care of many of the practical details so you can make yourself at home and live like a true San Franciscan ... whether you're staying for a month or only a few days.
