We really appreciated the care and thought you obviously put into providing such a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. We all loved it and were impressed with how well presented and equipped it is. Your clear instructions, too, made it easy to feel at home. The proximity to the neighborhood coffee shops, restaurants and shops was an added pleasure. We wished we had longer to enjoy Belmont Cottage and would certainly not hesitate to recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Charlottesville.Did you find this review helpful? The advertisement/description for this property was spot on. My husband and I stayed a week in this cottage and loved it. It was clean and bright, appliances worked, had plenty of towels to last the week, etc. the shower/bathtub was a bit awkward, but doable. This is disclosed in the description and pictures and other reviews, so it was no surprise. The neighborhood is very quiet and located very close to Historic Downtown where free concerts and entertainment are to be enjoyed every Fri evening. Amtrak is located in town and is very easy to hop the train for a quick ride to DC. Charlottesville locals were very friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to our next visit.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My friend and I stayed at this house in November. We are in our 60s, friends since high school, from ME and SC. First of all, the location is in a modest neighborhood that is mixed multi-family and single family. There is street parking only. The cottage is very clean but sparsely furnished and small. There are too many rules (must have had some bad tenants). The shower was barely usable, due to very low sloped ceiling height with little room to stand upright. The beds were comfortable. When the deposit was returned, Paypal charged a fee to send a check. I requested a non Paypal transaction, but received no reply. On the plus side, we walked a lot, it's hilly terrain, so we got some good exercise. There were some good restaurants nearby. Moral: Wished it lived up to the hype.Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

The Belmont cottage is a gorgeous 2 bed cottage just 10 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. It is exceptionally clean and was spacious enough for our needs (Family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 children under 6 - staying in Charlottesville for a wedding) the booking was very easy and straight forward. Daniel and Christina are both very helpful and live locally if there is an issue. ?In terms of locality, it is a 10 minute walk to downtown Charlottesville where there is an array of restaurants, etc. However, just 2 minutes from the house you will find 3 restaurants - all of which are very nice (the Local is particulary good and I would recommend booking ahead). There is also a local grocery shop but rather than this I would suggest using the one 2 minutes from the cottage in the other direction (turn right and right again..) where the produce is very fresh. I would (and have already!) recommend this cottage to a friend and would definitely stay there again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Overall the cottage is in very good condition and we have no complaints. The kitchen had all we needed, the beds and living room were comfortable, TV and wireless connection are also very useful. Location was great within walking distance to the downtown mall, particularly for after Fridays after Five!! We enjoyed our stay at the Belmont Cottage, we recommend it, and we hope to come back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time at the cottage. The location couldn't have been more perfect! The restaurant suggestions were also great. We ate at The Local and Mas Tapas and would have eaten at Tavola if we'd had another night! It was clean and tidy, and the bathtub/shower was super cute and a great use of space! Thanks again for letting us stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband, 2 year old daughter and myself just returned from a weeks stay at Belmont Cottage. The cottage is well appointed with all needed amenities. The yard is small but private and well kept. The shower is small but manageable. There is little closet/storage space but the owners use the space they have very well -we loved all the little rods and hooks! The kitchen is well appointed and the coffee/creamer was much appreciated! The location was great-easy to walk to the mall and we even walked to UVA! Several great restaurants nearby-many of which do delivery (we have a 2 yr old remember?)-we recommend Basil, the local and downtown thai. The discovery museum was awesome and our daughter loved walking the mall area! The owners were helpful and quick to respond to email and answer all questions. There is a gap around the front door which lets cold air in but overall the property met all of our needs! Thanks for a nice stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, sightseeing.

Your place is fantastic! I loved walking to the coffee shop in the morning and the proximity to the pedestrian mall. I went to Dave Matthews concerts while it town @ JPJ Arena and also went to Trombone Shorty show @ The Jefferson Theatre- That place rocks! I already want to come back and can’t imagine even considering staying elsewhere. The beds were great, the wireless internet was much appreciated as well. The only issue I had at all, and it wasn’t too much of one, was the shower since I am 6’4”. It made things a bit cozy. Fabulous place. I will hit you up next time I come to town for sure!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
