I have Traveled many places and stayed at one of London's best hotels, but nothing and I mean nothing can compare to this wonderful and charming cottage, nothing fancy about it but who needs fancy when you step outside right on to the beach, my husband was out there morning noon and night fishing(not that he caught much but he really enjoyed being there as did my friend from England. the Nature Preserve is amazing. and Ed well where do we start here that man has to be the kindest person ever and deeply caring, when I saw the cottage I just fell in love with it and knew this is where I wanted to take my husband who has multiple myeloma, and will have to have a stem cell transplant he has to be checked each month and we were not sure if we had the ok by the doctor, I explained to Ed that while I loved the place I would not be sure until he saw the doctor if we could make the dates we wanted, Ed held that cottage for us not knowing if we could make it or not ,we will never forget his kindness, so Ed a very big Thank you to you for allowing us to share this wonderful OasisRecommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great for family with dogs and kids who enjoy bon-fires on the beach! Great place to relax, read a book and nap on the beach. Just 20 min south is Lewis with shops and fun activities - mini golf, go-cart etc. It was the perfect place to relax before the school season starts and the water was perfect.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children.

My family and I just returned from a wonderful week’s stay at this lovely beach cottage and find ourselves missing it already. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt at home. This house was a great choice for our family, which includes a 12, 21 & 22 y/o. It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Rehobeth, Fenwick, etc.., that you’ll enjoy privacy and tranquility, which my husband and I appreciated, yet a few minutes ride in the car will take you right to where the action is, which was perfect for the kids. There is so much to see and do, that a week won’t be nearly enough and the peaceful, lazy days on the secluded beach, which is just steps away, with a good book that melt into relaxing evenings spent lounging on the breezy sun porch with a bottle of wine simply enjoying the sounds of the waves, will make you want to stay forever. Ed’s description doesn’t do justice to this cozy retreat that is like a step back in time to a picture-postcard worthy beach bungalow and those carefree childhood days spent at the beach, before cell phones, computers and everything else that can clutter our lives (although the amenities do include wi-fi in case you cannot survive without it). After dinner strolls treated us to wonderful, camera ready views of osprey, heron and other wildlife courtesy of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge that borders this quaint and friendly community, leaving it unspoiled and uncorrupted by the traffic and crowds that you expect when traveling to a popular beach resort and allowed me to walk off a few extra calories affording me the indulgence of an ice cream cone in town. Maryanne, who was just a phone call away, was terrific. Having the flexibility to check in late, very late, as I operate on my own personal time zone and am chronically tardy, alleviated my stress before we left our house, being able to bring our ENTIRE family, which includes our dog, Floyd, who absolutely loved the beach, truly made the FAMILY get away complete. Our 12 y/o’s announcement that he’d be “reading on the sun porch until dinner was ready”, spending time with our 22y/o son and his girlfriend and just walking on the beach with my husband who was NOT preoccupied with work, was icing on the cake confirming that I had discovered a gem of a vacation destination that we’d all look forward to revisiting. The kids must have read our minds when they suggested we make this a yearly family ritual. We hope to do just that! Thanks Ed!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this little shack on the beach. It was exactly what we were looking for, a week with peace and quiet! We only saw 2 other humans the entire time we were here. The house was simple and very clean, but perfect for us and our 2 little ones (4 and 1). One step and you are in the sand. WE made it for the height of horseshoe crab mating, so we got to flip a lot of crabsin the early mornings with our 4 year old duaghter, who thought it was the coolest thing! She also like to dance on the sandbars. We made lots of sand castles and had 2 fires on the beach. .We cooked most of our meals but did have a great meal at FINS in Rehobath Beach. It gave us a much needed break from our stress filled lives! We miss it already! Thanks EdRecommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: We want you back every year! Lets keep it a tradition.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: My family loves Primehook Beach. The kids are growing up and their busy schedules keep us from going to the beach for the summer. I am a retired police detective and now own several small real estate related companies. We hope you will make this your home away from home.
Why the Owner Chose Primehook Beach:
This is a natural beach with no retail, hustle or bustle. This beach is a secret! We are close to all of the touristy resorts like Lewis, Rehoboth, Bethany, Dewey, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City. We are about 20 minutes from the Cape May Ferry (even though you can watch it cross the Delaware from the Beach House), and about 20 minutes from the Casino in Harrington. The best part of our beach, when you are here, nothing seems close until you leave. We have internet if you dare!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Our beach house is located directly on the beach. You can watch the abundance of wildlife as nature intended. There are no crowds...just wildlife and nature at its best!
