The Limestone cabins are the perfect mountain getaway! Our vacation rental cabins are great for honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays and more! The Limestone cabin is located approximately 5 minutes from Hot Springs, NC. The cabin itself is over a hundred years old! We carefully dismantled it piece by piece and relocated it to the banks of the French Broad river. The cabin comes with a fully equipped kitchen, gas and charcoal grill, so there is no need to eat out!
It also features a private hot tub on the back porch with privacy blinds. The cabin sleeps a maximum of four people. A queen size bed located upstairs and sofa bed downstairs. While your stay at the Limestone cabin you can enjoy countless activities nearby and on-site! Things to do include: on-site fishing, biking, hiking, exploring the land surrounding the cabin, white water rafting, horseback riding and of course the famous Hot Springs Spas. Also, if you feel the need to do some light traveling during your stay you can venture to Asheville, NC-home to the Biltmore House and many, many more attractions.

I stayed at the cabin with my girlfriend and we had a nice relaxing weekend together. The cabin is nice and isolated at the end of a gravel road which follows a railroad track and river. It has everything you need, it's new and clean (but the timbers are obviously salvaged from another old cabin), and well supplied. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. I recommend it!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway.

I had a great stay at Harold's cabin. The pictures accurately reflect how quaint and cozy the cabin is. The cabin was very clean and nicely furnished. Harold's wife had even left a batch of freshly made cookies on the kitchen table for me to enjoy. The cabin is very secluded even though it is quite close to the town of Hot Springs. About the only sound to disturb the chirping of the birds is the occasional train that rolls by on the tracks which run adjacent to the river in front of the cabin. The walk into Hot Springs by way of the railroad tracks takes about 15 or 20 minutes, not much longer than it takes to drive into town. I did a little fishing one afternoon and caught one small fish, but I saw boys in town catching much bigger fish right off of the bridge on the main highway in the middle of town. Something I found interesting is that the Appalachain Trail runs right through the center of Hot Springs. There are even trail markers embedded in the sidewalk which point out the trail. I also rode my mountain bike on the road from the cabin up to the highway. I'd recommend a mountain bike rather than a road bike because the road is not paved. If you want an easy ride, you can just ride along the river. The road from the river up to the highway will give you a chance to test your climbing legs, but the ride back down makes it worth it. After a day of biking, hiking or just enjoying the countryside, the hot tub at the cabin provides a nice secluded spot to relax and have a drink. The tub sits on the porch in the back of the cabin so the access is quick and easy which is nice because the evenings were cool during my stay in October. I'd recommend the cabin for singles or couples looking for a secluded getaway. It's cozy, bright, well kept, and very clean. The road in is not paved, but I was driving a small RV and had no problems getting in or out. I was very pleased with the cabin and truly enjoyed my stay there.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful, relaxing, romantic time on our Honeymoon while staying at The Limestone Cabin. When we arrived at the cabin, we were surprised with cupcakes, sparkling grape juice & a lovely Congratulations card. So sweet! The cabin was very clean & just warm & inviting. The hot tub was nice and toasty. And was Great, especially after our drive up. We've told ALL our friends & family about how wonderful our time was at the cabin. And we can't wait to plan another trip up.... Maybe for our year anniversary! Thank You again for providing such a lovely, peaceful getaway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This cabin was exactly what my husband & I needed for romance and privacy. We went there on our honeymoon, but hope to return for our anniversary as well. It is tucked away in trees along a winding road & river, assuring complete seclusion and relaxation. The cabin is rustic & charming, wanting of nothing. The hot tub is certainly a nice touch! I recommend it to anyone in need of relaxation and romance.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I were looking for a nice cozy cabin in the mountains for our 17th wedding anniversary. After looking at a ton of cabins to rent I came across this one. The Limestone Cabin, and thought it looked so charming. The pictures do not do it justice though! When we arrived we were thrilled! This is a perfect cabin for a romantic getaway! It sits right in front of the river, and there is a train track in front of the cabin as well. The train only went by a couple of times a day, so it did not bother us at all! In fact we would look forward for it to come by after we put coins on the track to be flattened! We bought groceries at a grocery store close by, and grilled out and enjoyed sitting on the nice big front porch both evenings. We also visited the Hot Springs Spa which is only 10 minutes downtown and enjoyed a nice massage. There are a couple of nice places to eat in town as well if you don't want to cook. My husband fished a little, but the weekend we were there the begining of March, it was a little chilly, so the fish were not biting! The one thing we enjoyed the most was relaxing in the nice big hot tub on the back porch! This cabin is extremely private. We felt like we were the only ones in the mountains!, but it is also close to the small town of Hot Springs, and only 40 minutes from Asheville, NC. We most defintely will go back, hoepfully this year. If not, this will be our annual anniversary destination! Mr. Finley always answered my emails when I had questions, and he checked on us during our stay. We also had a sweet card and muffins waiting for us when we arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch! You will not disappointed, should you choose to stay here! We highly recommend it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I went to the Limestone Cabin for our 4 year Anniversary June11-14th 2010 and we had an excellent time. The website and photos we were able to see before arriving do not do the cabin justice!! The hospitality and cleanliness of the cabin was top notch. You don't have to worry about bringing a thing besides yourself, a good book, some hiking shoes, and a few snacks! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Max Patch, hiking Lover's Leap (which is within walking distance of the cabin), walking the railroad tracks, fishing the French Broad, and simply relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. This is truly a must visit for any couple looking to enjoy the great outdoors.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Greetings, I'm Harold Finley and Sadie Finley my wife are the owners of the Limestone Cabin. We are both natives of the Hot Springs area and are firm believers in southern hospitality! This is currently our only vacation rental, however, we have a few long term rentals in the area. I also have a grading business as well. We have enjoyed meeting new people visiting the area and hope to meet many more in the future! If you have any other questions for us feel free to let us know!
Why the Owner Chose Hot Springs:
The cabin was originally located in the city limits of Hot Springs, NC. The cabin itself was over a hundred years old! An heir to the cabin was going to have the cabin torn down, so I decided to carefully take it apart and have it re-built. I decided to have the cabin moved and refurbished to some land I owned by the French Broad River. I wanted to share this piece of history and location with others that might be appreciative of it.
