  My daughter and I needed a 'stress' get a way and this wonderful house could not have been more perfect. After our day trips to all the nearby beach towns; coming back to peace, quiet, great beds and the added comfort of those reclining chairs to watch T.V always ended a memorable day. We didn't cook but the kitchen was top drawer with all the best appliances. We walked to some delicious restaurants and loved watching the sunset from the front yard.. Both of us were thinking about an 'OCCUPY 167 MAPLE AVE ' because we did not want to leave..!!

  We have lived in Carlsbad for the past 26 years. Our home is under construction so we needed a place to say. Our stay here has reminded me how very blessed we are to be living in such a beautiful place. This home is PERFECT!!! Breath taking views, beds you won't want to get out of, top of the line TV's, appliances etc.... We rented another home on VRBO for the first 2 weeks and couldn't wait to get back in our own home. When construction was pushed back another week we moved to this house and I can honestly say I don't want to leave. If this house is available book it!

  This was a GREAT place to stay. The pictures don't even do it justice. We shared this VRBO with my 70+ year old parents and our family of 5 (my husband, 6 year old and 16 month old twins.) It was PERFECT for us. Location is less than a block to the beach, so a close enough walk for everybody. You do have to walk down about a flight of stairs to get down to the beach from the boardwalk, but it was very doable, even for my Dad (who uses a cane). House itself had one small step going up into the backdoor, but with help I think it would even be doable for someone in a wheelchair (though they'd have to take the longer path to the beach to get to the ramp). The shower in the master-bath is a walk-in shower. Close walking distance to Carlsbad restaurants, etc. Off-street parking. Enough bedrooms for the kids to go to bed early and the grownups to stay up a bit longer. Toys and games for the kids, including beach toys and boogie boards. An outdoor shower to help keep the sand outside. The house itself was lovely. Bamboo floors throughout. A ultra-comfortable tempurpedic King sized bed in the Master bedroom. Beautifully done kitchen (we saved so much money eating in sometimes!) The patio outside was a great place to have a glass of wine in the evening. Loved that the front was fenced in so our kids could run around a bit. Very very clean, and lots of nice touches (like lovely quality bedding instead of cheap hotel sheets). Legoland was maybe 2 exits away on the highway (very close). Sea World was also a short drive (30 minutes), even in rush hour traffic. Our favorite meals in Carlsbad were at Boxd, which makes delicious waffle sandwiches (like chicken and arugula with brie) The Naked Cafe was also delicious and had a lot of healthy and vegetarian options. The owner was very helpful and communicative.

  Location, location! So relaxing to sit in the front yard and view the ocean. Loved the front enclosed yard with patio in front. Easy walk to the beach and the house had all of the amenities we needed. The owners are very easy to work with and accommodating to our needs. We will definitely return and recommend this great beach house. Traveled with our 3 kids and had plenty of space.

  just got back from staying at this location. Great location just as advertised. Jen and Todd responded very quickly to texts and calls, and went out of their way to make our trip pleasant. Very easy when payments needed to be made, and security deposit hold was returned promptly. The place was up to date with nice washer and dryer, tvs, dvd players and wifi access. Beach was gorgeous, and village was a five minute walk to shops and dining. No regrets, and would highly recommend this location for families or a romantic beach getaway.

  Great vacation, neat and tidy property with all the amenities. Nice kitchen with new appliances, high capacity new washer/dryer, and an outdoor grill make life easy. All you have to do is unpack and enjoy your time at the beach. Carlsbad is a great family vacation spot, and this home is walking distance to dining, and the beach. Legoland was a 5 minute drive, and Mission Beach attractions were only about 25 minutes away. My only regret was not having found this place sooner. Thanks Jen for sharing your home with us, you were very helpful. Can't wait to visit again.

  We had a family gathering and rented this house for our two adult children and their families (2 young children each). There was plenty of space for each couple and the kids could play inside and out. The owners bent over backward to make sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was large and easy to make meals in for a big family. The front yard was perfect for adults (BBQ and tables with an ocean view) and kids (grass to roll in). The house was very clean and well stocked with towels, games, cooking supplies, beach equipment, etc. We were really impressed!

  Our family decided to make a trip for the week of fall break. we found this property and almost chose another. We are so glad that we were able to stay here. the property is so much better than the pictures! the owners were great also. when we said we would be going in the water, the owner brought a surf board over for me to use for the week! the three bedrooms accommodated our family of 6 very well. the two baths were well cared for as well. the kitchen was well stocked with the cooking and eating utensils we needed. for the beach, there were several chairs, boogie boards, buckets, lots of towels, there is even a shower outside the house to rinse off before going in. we wanted to stay later on our departure date, they gave us as long as we wanted, though the property was not rented for the following day so that helped us. we absolutely recommend the property and owners. we would certainly stay here again if in the area

  Just got back from a one week vacation with my family. The location was perfect for the beach, village shopping and Legoland. The house was even more awesome than the pictures! Great neighborhood and friendly neighbors. This was the best vacation we ever had! Jen was a pleasure to work with and we plan on returning again.

  My wife and I took my parents and toddler to Carlsbad for the weekend. The Silva's property was an excellent choice. We use VRBO consistently for travel and this is absolutely one of the better properties we've stayed at. The house was beautiful and was well stocked with amenities needed for a relaxing weekend and was in perfect proximity to both the beach and Carlsbad Village's restaurant/shopping area. We ate dinner every night on the front patio with the ocean in view. There is no doubt we will be back.
