Yes, this is the perfect place to stay if you want to experience what it is like to live in San Francisco. This flat is located within a block of an entrance to Golden Gate Park, which my husband loved for running each day. "You couldn't have given me a better Christmas present." (Yes, we were there for Christmas.) It was also where I took our little dog, Lucy, for walks each morning and afternoon. Each day, we took a different route in the park and discovered something new. The flat is located within a Chinese neighborhood (Victoria said it is called the 3rd Chinatown), so you can feel the vibe of what the neighborhoods are really like (aka: how Chinatown may have been before it became a tourist destination). It is also walking distance to Ocean Beach and Muni (SF public transportation) if you want to head into Union Square (or Chinatown!). Victoria made us feel very welcome - and has a dedicated fan in our little Lucy. She told us which walks in the park are her and her husband's favorites, showed us where the closest Safeway grocery store was (also within walking distance), and gave us some tips on where to eat. There are books and games in the bookcase in case you decide to stay in. The flat is downstairs with an entrance through the backyard (which Lucy loved), and Victoria and her family live upstairs. The house was built in 1926, so you will hear some (not much) creaking of the floors above you... but this is part of the experience of staying in a house in the city. Thank you, Victoria, for making our stay so lovely.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I stayed here with my friends over Thanksgiving weekend and it was just awesome. Victoria really made us feel welcome here, and gave us a lot of tips about places to go in the city. When she found out that a couple of our friends, who hadn't arrived yet, had a baby, she immediately went and brought us a high chair and a playpen. She also stocked us up on fruits, wine, and chocolates. Try getting that at a hotel if you don't have platinum membership! For less than the price of a hotel in the city, we had a place all to ourselves that accommodated five of us (and a baby) comfortably, and we didn't have to pay for parking. At most hotels in SF, parking alone could be $50+ per vehicle per day +valet tip. Here, we had one designated parking spot and plenty of street parking. In the morning, we were able to jog at Golden Gate Park (which is a block away) and then walk straight to breakfast (plenty of restaurants within walking distance). It's also close to public transportation if you want to commute rather than battle through SF traffic. Overall, a great place to stay if you're visiting SF. My friends (with the baby) were so glad that I found this place that they swore they'd stay here again the next time they visit SF. Thanks, Victoria!Did you find this review helpful? We were 6 in a family traveling from Christchurch New Zealand, this was a great place to stay gives you the local feel. Victoria, Alex & daughter Nicole were all great hosts. Big thanks for making the start to our USa trip really great, Victoria was very helpfull with organising bus passes ahead of our arrival and giving us pointers on how to get around. You can take a 28 bus from only 2 blocks or so away right to the Golden Gate Bridge. Its only 2 blocks to the train stop which will take you to Union Sq from there a tram will get you to Pier 33 for alcatraz. Would really recommend alcatraz. Accomodation is good, centrally heated if needed, plenty of blankets towels etc and comfortable... A nice little kitchen well supplied with all the little things you need that you wouldn't normally bring when traveling... Have no hesitation in recommending this place as you will read in the majority of reviews you will find here.. Linsay & family from NZDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and our friends stayed here for the weekend and the house was absolutely perfect. It has every amenity, and is withing walking distance to food, bars and the park. The best part about the house though is the beautiful backyard - such a wonderful place to just hangout and relax. Victoria was so helpful and friendly, and it was a pleasure to work with her.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rental is exactly as pictured--clean, well equipped, ground floor flat across the street from Golden Gate Park. Public transit connections are close so being away from downtown and other tourist attractions is not an issue if you are comfortable on public transit. The owners live upstairs and are friendly and helpful but not overly so.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time staying here. What could I say about the weather in mid October except that it was amazing. It was in the mid 80s on Wednesday and Thursday in Frisco and we went to Sonoma on Friday and it was in the low 90s. Victoria was extremely helpful. Her knowledge of San Francisco and the surrounding area was amazing. If you're not sure what you want to do, she has all kinds of helpful ideas she can give you. Plus, the Muni passes were really helpful as I would not recommend driving in many parts of SF, especially downtown. The beach is only 1.5 miles away. Easy to walk to plus having the park right up the street is really nice. Overall, the apartment was more than acceptable and accomodating. I love having the backyard patio. Parking is horrible in SF so having a spot at the apartment was a must. My wife liked having access to a washer and dryer which allowed us to pack lighter than we normally would had to. Our two boys (ages 8 and 11) like having their own room and bunk beds to relax after long days walking. Thanks very much Victoria. The first time I spoke to you on the phone, you were so nice and helpful even then, I knew we made the right choice. Traveling across the country could certainly be stressful but I must say staying at your rental eased the stress to almost none. I also got 100% of the security deposit back in a timely fashion. Thanks again Victoria. God bless you and your family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Stayed at Victoria's for 2 nights, which was not enough!! The apartment was clean, warm and cozy and had just about everything you can find in your own home, there were flat screen TVs in the hall and also in both rooms, the beds, pillows and comforter were super comfy, there were lots of brochures and guide books to help us navigate around beautiful San Francisco, and the tram stop's only a short 5-min walk away. It's within walking distance to the Golden Gate Park, but about 20 mins to the city centre, which was perfectly fine for us since the tram came regularly. Victoria is a wonderful host. Way before i arrived in the us, she was giving advice on transportation and answered my other questions, and upon arrival there was a further briefing on how to get around and where to go, which was much appreciated!!! Although abit quiet at night, we felt absolutely safe walking back around midnight, there were no dodgy people or whatever. Oh and there's a good & cheap breakfast place nearby on Irving St called Irving St Cafe with fantastic scrambled eggs and hash browns. Overall, had a wonderful stay here!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We visited San Francisco in September. The apartment was very well appointed (kitchen, book, games etc) with comfortable beds and plenty of space for a vacation base. Victoria was a friendly host and made us feel very welcome. Check in was easy and when there was a slight hitch in the bathroom (caused by us) it was fixed very promptly. Access to the city was easy, using the tram (called train locally). That being said, it took about 30 mins to get into the city, plus waiting time for the tram to arrive (frustrating if you just missed one). If you had a car or weren't on a tight schedule as we were, location/proximity to downtown would be less of an issue. Other than location issues 'Staying Cozy' was perfect for our needs (2 adults, 2 children).Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

While my daughter and I did the tourist thing in San Francisco we stayed at Victoria's apartment. We were greeted by a charming hostess that had a wealth of knowledge about the city. For someone who had never been to San Francisco before I found the apartment easy to find and within walking distance to the Golden Gate Park. (There are a lot of tourist sights there) She helped us figure out the public transportation system which was had stops very close to the apartment. The neighborhood was friendly and we felt very safe. All amenities anyone could want were provided including a large fruit basket and nice bottle of wine. The place was very clean and comfortable. The master bed was extremely comfortable (I want a bed like that one). The 2nd bedroom had bunk beds with a double on the bottom and twin on the top. They were firm yet comfortable. The apartment comes with a computer, printer and internet which came in handy looking for up bus schedule times. There is a beautiful small private backyard with lounge chairs and a BBQ for guest use. The apartment is very nice but you do notice the upstairs creaky floors. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Victoria was a wonderful host. She greated us with a hug, bottle of wine and a bowl of fruit. She ave us all kinds of helpful information on what to do and how to take the public transportation. We were very well prepared to hit the streets of San Francisco and explore as much as we could in 5 days. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee, condiments and herbs and spices so we were able to eat in for most of our meals saving big $. The Golden Gate Park across the street is a real gem and you could spend 2 days just exploring that alone. The unit was very cute, comfortable with a darling backyard for relaxing or Bbq's. It was very easy for us to locate as we just drove into town across the Golden Gate Bridge and continued straight through the Golden Gate Park and took a right on Lincoln and a left on 26th. Couldn't be easier. We had a great had a great time and would definitely stay at Victorias place again. Thank You so much Victoria for you hospitality Sincerely Gail Sammamish, WaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
