This authentic Appalachian log cabin is located in the Blue Ridge Passage Resort (see their website) only 80 minutes from the Triad or Charlotte! Cabin sleeps 8, and includes full kitchen, washer/dryer, gas fireplace, grill, cable TV ,and internet.

My husband and I were looking for a remote getaway in the mountains away from the stresses of work, and this is exactly what we found. A truly beauitful and charming log cabin in the Meadows of Dan, remote enough to enjoy the mountain views every morning, and to relax by a roaring gas fire every evening, yet close enough to some extremely enjoyable hiking trails through the beautiful blue mountains, some nice trips out to Mabry Mill, Buffalo Mountain, and the town of Floyd. The cabin has all the charms of 'home', and our pupper really enyoyed the outdoorsy adventures. We would definitely come back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: I want to thank you for taking the time to post your review.I hope the next time you need a stress free break that you you will visit again.

We stayed at this beautiful cabin for our 2nd anniversary. Both my husband and I together have 5 kids and now 3 grandchildren, and we have very stressful jobs. If you truly want a place to get away for the day to day routine in your life, you must book now. We truly loved the view of the mountain tops, took beautiful photos at Mabry Mill, and went to our favorite windery Chateau Morrisette. I finished a book and nearly finsihed my second book, and for the first time in a long time, I truly saw my husband relax. We were sad to close the door to this beautiful cabin, and we definitly will go back, and we may even take the kids. One last comment, our dog LOVED it! Thank you to the owner for allowing us to visit your cabin.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My family, which is comprised of my wife and two daughters live outside of Charlotte in Belmont, NC. I enjoy taking my motorcycle and riding the parkway while my wife is enjoying the mountain air while reading a good book. The family enjoys going to Philpott Lake and Chateau Morrisette. My daughters like watching the locals flatfoot dancing at Christopher's Pizza to a live bluegrass band.
Why the Owner Chose Meadows of Dan:
The culture of the area is like a step back in time, The area is mostly locals and has a purity that has escaped the mountains of NC. It is close to the parkway and allows me a place to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of the city and work.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The serenity of the cabin is beyond belief. It is a great place to just relax or spend the day sightseeing or fishing.
