This place is a fantastic way to get away from it all! You walk out the door and go skiing, or snowshoeing or saunaing... It's great. The central fireplace adds a homey and warm feel. We have been with friends for the past 2 years and have always had a great time.

We very much enjoyed Skalitude. It could not have been a better choice for the get-away we needed. We look forward to finding you this spring/summer and bringing the bigger family. We may also need to make early February an annual visit – it was just great. The dogs are amazingly tired. Don’t know when they’ll recover.

We've stayed at Skalitude, winter, spring and summer seasons, a few times over the past couple years. An absolutely lovely setting for those of all ages, and dogs too! The cabin comfortably accommodates 2-3 families (depending on the number of children), and group dinners around the dining table make memories. PLUS, the berm house is a really cool, private place to stay for anyone looking for an even quieter place to rest one's head, and an exceptional educational experience in how we can all be better stewards of our land. Great sledding and skiing in winter, and in the spring and summer, Lookout mountain is a wonderful hike, right out your backdoor! Making snowpeople and jumping into the sauna in winter is fun too; just be very careful to heed the stove carefully. Skalitude is magical for all, and Lindsey and Will are gracious hosts and caretakers.
Owner response:We are always trying to improve the place, our main goal is having happy guests and we are always grateful for opportunities to share this wonderful land!

Nice setup for a few or many. The main house was nice and cozy with 3 bedrooms. Having 2 bathrooms that you could access from outside the home was convenient and the bunk house was so much more than that! You could easily sleep over 20 but it was not too spacious for our group of 12. Location was great for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. We would definitely stay again!

Thanks for the great week! The whole family (17 of us) had a blast - - the last two days at the Carleton Beach were fantastic for everyone. We all marveled at how beautiful the evenings were, eating out in the yard under the tent with the sun setting to the west.

We brought six women up here to use Skalitude as a base for a vision quest. It is a place of stunning natural beauty and the sensitivity that the owners bring to its management is in perfect keeping with the solitude and quiet of the valley and mountains.

Three sisters, one sister-in-law and one lone husband spent five glorious days at Skalitude. Wide open spaces, blue skies, fresh snow and superb lodging made for a better trip than we could hope for! Rush hour at Skalitude = x-county skiier, four deer, two dogs, a bald eagle and a wild turkey. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts and entrusting your little piece of utopia to us! (our dogs thank you too!) Your hospitality and stewardship has made this a truly unique and memorable trip.

Thank-you for being so gracious and easy going. It made things very nice for us to be able to use the cabin to gather in and have the separate bedroom areas for young kids and there parents. It was also nice for me to be able to pull my RV up close to the cabin and have a nice level area to park. Being close was enjoyable because it seemed we were in and out of it a lot. We really enjoyed our stay and I do hope our family can enjoy your beautiful property again. I also wanted to thank-you for allowing us to leave basically at our leisure. We enjoyed having the extra time, it made it a lot less stressful for us. Teenagers and babies can sometimes be a crazy combination! Thanks again for your hospitality

My husband and I recently got married at Skalitude, and everything about our event was simply perfect. Skalitude itself and the surrounding area are absolutely gorgeous, the facilities are comfortable and tasteful, and Lindsey and Will were a huge help. They made excellent recommendations, and coordinated with our caterer and local rental providers to take care of everything from tables and chairs to flatware and many other needs. Their relaxed and competent approach helped us get everything organized without a lot of stress, and left us free to enjoy our time with friends and family. Although there are many options of places to get married in the Methow, we appreciated that Skalitude does not only cater to weddings, thus making it more unique and less expensive, and it still had all the accommodations we needed. Our event felt special and personal, and all of our guests were amazed at the beauty of the setting. Skalitude is great for a range of occasions, big or small. We can't wait to go back again! Two thumbs up, five stars, perfect!

We had a family reunion here and everyone absolutely LOVED this place! Some of us have stayed other places, but none compared to this little piece of heaven. The quiet and peaceful surroundings made this one of the most enjoyable getaways I have ever had. The accommodations are very comfortable, I slept great! We will most definitely be coming back here! Thanks Lindsey for your kind hospitality!! Barb & family

Our 3rd year of searching and finding dog friendly adventures between Washington and California and by far the favorite. You could have kept this beautiful place to yourself and yet you are kind enough to share it with all of us. For that I 9we) thank you so very much. The home, the land and all its peacefulness were such a fun treat to celebrate my dad's 60th B-day. Now I shall look forward to happy returns! Sadie, Jack and baby Jackson from Arcata CA. We had a wonderful long weekend enjoying the solitude and the magic of this special spot. We skied the meadow and hiked up the mountain for a spectacular view of the valley. Riley the wonder poodle is going home well worn and dreaming of the snow. Thank you Lindsey for sharing Skalitude. Jenny, Jason and Riley
