Description of the apartment -
· Beautiful and bright 2 bedroom apartment on the top (6th) floor of an 100-year-old modernist building, renovated outside and inside. The apartment still has the original ceilings with artistic moldings, mosaic floors (a different design in every room), and original woodwork on the doors and windows. There is an elevator, air conditioning, central heating, and a full kitchen with granite countertop, pots & pans, dishes, etc. One full bathroom with shower, toilet, sink. The living room has a dining table and chairs, a sofa bed with an additional 175cm pull-out bed, a 21-inch TV, DVDs, etc. The apartment fits up to 6 although an occupancy of 4 would be the ideal for the size.
The building's roof terrace is just upstairs from the apartment, with tables and chairs, plenty of sunshine, and views to Sagrada Familia. Please note it is a shared terrace.
Description of location -
· The apartment is located in the beautiful Eixample, halfway between Gaudi's La Pedrera (also known as Casa Milà) on the Passeig de Gracia, and Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, just a ten-minute walk from either one. Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló are at the same short distance as well. The Eixample district has the most beautiful Art Nouveau architecture in the city dating from the last half of the XIX century.
There are many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, and shops in the neighborhood also. Almost all buildings in the area are at least 100 years old. The 115-year-old Market of La Concepció, where you can do your grocery shopping in a traditional setting, is just 200 meters from the apartment. This market has fresh meat, produce, and cheeses, similar to the more famous Boqueria market, but less crowded and does not have some of the more exotic things.
The Eixample is recommended as a convenient location to see the different sight around the city, but not as crowded as the Old City. You can get a taste of real local life.
Transportation -
· There is a bus stop (for 8 different bus lines) on the corner right by the apartment that will take you to almost all the places of interest in the city, if you don't feel like walking. The city buses are nice and modern, and run often. The apartment is also less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station of Verdaguer, on both the yellow and blue lines. One stop away is the upscale shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, though you can easily walk there from the apartment. Three stops away is Plaza Catalunya (the very center of the city and also walkable) and the start of Las Ramblas, and the beaches are just five stops away. Four stops away you have the Old Cathedral and the Picasso Museum. There is also a parking garage close to the apartment, although renting a car in Barcelona is not recommended.

This was our family’s first time vacationing in Spain and it was memorable! First of all I must start out by saying most of the communication was done via the internet and it was a pleasure making arrangements and acquiring the information needed in the planning process. Emails were replied to quickly (1-12 hours). The fees were exactly as quoted, no hidden or last minute cost upon check in. The property was exactly as described and pictured, well maintained, and safe, with lots to do in the area. Directions were clear and extremely helpful with finding the location of the apartment. Very detailed instructions of check-in/check-out procedures emailed by owner highly appreciated! Also, the young ladies were helpful and nice with guiding us to public transportation, as well as tours with discount coupons. Many restaurants, food markets, and bakeries in the area. Walking distance to the main shopping areas. Accommodations are 50% of a vacation and I must say our stay was the best! I will definitely return and/or recommend to anyone wanting great accommodation for good price.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Barcelona! For our family of four, this apartment worked out great. (our kids are 9 and 11) We had breakfast and then went out each day. It was easy to navigate BCN on the Metro. We would come back late afternoon to relax, have happy on the roof and then go out for dinner. The location of the apartment in a residential section of Barcelona worked out well for us as it was quieter than other areas and we could get a good night sleep. We would stay here again or other apartments owned by Lauren and Fernando! PS the apartment really deserves 4.5 stars but that was not an option!

This apartment was located in a neighborhood not far from Sagrada Familia and the main streets.It was comfortable and clean and we received lots of help from the owners on the attractions and how to get around. Even though we arrived on a holiday in Barcelona, there was someone ther to greet us and help us out. You can walk to Sagrada Familia, the grocery store and local restaurants and catch the open top bus tour about 5 blocks away. The stay was very nice and the experience was excellent. We would stay there again. We stayed in September 2010

A classic building very near Sagrada Familia. Within walking distance to Hop On/Off bus tours. Apartment is as described -nice view of the area from the windows -internet is exceptional -bathroom is small but adequate. The only drawback (and it's a personal preference) the main bedroom bed was a little too hard. We were greated by Marcella and told all we had to do was call and she would provide assistance.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Nice apartment in a great area: a couple of blocks from La Sagrada Familia. Great open market a few blocks away. Very small kitchen - can't really cook much - but well equipped. The elevator worked every day except the day we arrived and the day we left, so moving luggage was a challenge. We'd go back, despite this!

A couple of Canadians lived here for days…This apartment makes us feel like home. It does remove all the fatigue and also supplies all we need. This is the best five-star hotel we ever been.
