We needed accommodation not too far out of Montreal as my wife was attending a convention at the Palias d'Congres in the city. The travelling time was between 40 minutes off peak and one hour on peak but the bonus was we really considered we learnt so much about Montreal and the people who live there. Always helpful and cheerful on buses or metro both so easy to use. Helene our host was welcoming most friendly and discreet. We enjoyed her humour and zest for life. The street was a gem with the trees and gardens and quietness. Lots of walks around the area and close to the Olympic stadium and Leaning Tower (a must see). Shops and supermarket close by. Our stay in Montreal was a treat and we enjoyed both old and new Montreal, the culture, the art galleries, the walking and exploring. For a couple of energetic 70+ Kiwis it was top drawer! Thank you so much Helene.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Bob and Elaine, thank you so much. I wrote you a personal e-mail that you.ll receive soon. Hope to see you again. Take care. Helene

My partner and I stayed at this studio for five days. Helene made sure to greet us and was very sweet, welcoming, and comforting. This place is absolutely one of the best deals you will find in Montreal! Two private parking spaces are available, which was great, because I parked my car and did not move it again until we left. The neighborhood is a quiet gem, and I could choose to exit from the front door or the back and feel safe. One improvement over the provided pictures is the fact that the bed feels separated from the rest of the studio -- a new wardrobe installation provides both privacy and desired closet space. The place is rather spacious even though it is a studio, and even has an outdoor table and seating. The apartment in total has everything you could ever need: microwave, toaster, washer, dryer, iron, tv, dvd, computer, dishes, dining table, umbrella, and cd player. The apartment is conveniently located in the Little Ukraine area of Montreal. The nearest road intersection links you to several bus lines, each direction leading to a metro! 18 bus to Beaubien (orange), 67 and 467 buses to both Joliette (green), and Saint Michel (blue) in opposite directions. The shortest bus ride is toward Saint Michel, but we mostly took the 18 as we found the orange line convenient to where we were going and the neighborhood is quite lovely with restaurants and parks. Helene graciously lent us two Opus metro cards, which makes rides cheaper, but we ended up just buying a 3-day unlimited pass for only $16. Overall, we found this place to be an excellent deal. It was clean, very comfortable, and safe. A grocery store, fast food, a deli, restaurants, and depanneur are all less than two blocks away. We would definitely return and we think you are awesome Helene! Merci beaucoup!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Hello both of you. Ho, you know what? you're the best to explain all about the studio, I think I'll copy some of the descriptions you're saying here. Are you studying in litterature? Thank you so much for your nice comments. And thank you by helping me, by leaving the studio so clean. It was a pleasure to receive you here. Take care and hope to see you again soon. Helene

In English, to sum up: I affirm all of the positive reviews above. It really is a great space in a great location at a great rate! I would love to stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Ho quel beau message! Je suis très heureuse que l'endroit vous ait plu. Il faut dire que nous en prenons bien soin et bien sûr les gens qui y logent sont très respectueux de la place. Merci pour vos beaux commentaires.

I stayed at this apartment in June while vacationing in Montreal with a friend. I was a bit nervous about staying at a privately-owned apartment, having made a reservation without reading any reviews. I needn't have worried: this apartment was fantastic! It was clean and larger than I expected for a studio. When the ad says furnished, it is very generously so, including the computer. There are two beds (one in the sofa), so three people could comfortably stay here. There is a small patio and private back yard (including a driveway) that looks out into the quite alley. The apartment is in walking distance to a small supermarket and several shops and restaurants. There are two bus lines with stops within a five-minute (maximum) walk, and the metro is 10 minutes away by bus. The neighborhood is very clean and quiet, and the tree-lined streets add to the charm. The landlord's mother-in-law, Helène, is incredibly sweet and very eager for you to enjoy the city. She found out that the day after our arrival was my birthday, and, the next morning, she stopped by to bring me a birthday present. She lives just a few minutes away from the property, so should a problem arise, she's just a phone call away. I highly recommend this property, and the next time I'm in Montreal, I will most definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We just came back from a 5 days vacation in Montreal and had a great time there. I was a little worried that the place will be too small for our family of 4 but we slept easily and had no problem at all. Place was extremely clean and that is always my first considration. there was a park right behind the studio which was great for my kids and it did even had a small pool for kids, we walked to park every morning before our breakfast and kids loved to start their day with fresh air in play ground. I do recommend this place to every one who wants to stay in a quiet and clean neighborhood, we enjoyed it and hope you will too. Thanks a lot Helen and hope to see you again soon.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My friend and I rented this wonderful apartment in a quiet neighborhood a little outside of the center of Montreal. It was wonderful. The neighborhood had many wonderful grocery stores for food and other necessities. We enjoyed the neighborhood almost as much as the center of the city. Transportation was simple and inexpensive!! There were buses to shopping districts or to the metro within a few blocks of the house ( not far at all). The apartment itself was clean, modern, and with a lovely private back porch with driveway. I highly recommend this location and the host and hostess were extremely hospitable and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
