Our two story four bedroom, three bathroom Santa Cruz beach home comfortably sleeps ten and is just a short 1 ½ block walk from the sandy beaches at 20th Avenue or Sunny Cove Beach on 17th Avenue. These beautiful beaches are known for great boogie boarding, surfing, swimming, and wake boarding. We are also a short drive or bike ride to scenic Capitola Beach Village and its charming shops, wide beach, and boutiques and restaurants.
Our house is ideal for two families or a group of friends and lends itself to entertaining. The oversized dining room table comfortably seats 10 and is perfect for group dinners. There are also tables and chairs for outdoor dining on the large deck off the living room. You'll love the high ceilings and the ridge-beam skylight over the living room and dining room. You can sit on the cozy back deck for your morning coffee or relax in the afternoon sun on our front deck. Gather around the gorgeous copper and river rock fireplace in the evenings.
We have provided many extra amenities for a memorable week at the beach: beach towels, high quality linens, high-speed wireless internet, washer/dryer and laundry soap, board games, beach chairs, sand toys, books, movies, ping-pong table, gas grill, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryers, and much more.

About the owner: We are two families with six children and for more than 20 years we have lived across the street from each other in the Silicon Valley. We had our first sons within weeks of each other, celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, block parties, etc. together. Our families started going to Santa Cruz when our kids were little. Every summer, we would pack up the kids, strollers, boogie boards, and crates of food in the van and station wagon, and head down to a Santa Cruz rental, or “our beach house”, as the kids referred to it. In 1999, we finally found a family beach house of our own.
Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz: For years we looked for a house to really be our “own” beach house in Santa Cruz! We chose this location for several reasons. We loved that it was such a short walk to Sunny Cove and Villa Maria del Mar Beaches from our house. We were also close to several restaurants, shopping, and the local Sunday Farmers Market. Another selling point was that we had more sunny days than other local beaches. Hence our name, Villa del Sol! We loved that it was easy to take the kids to the beach or pack them in the cars and go to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, the Wharf, or a little further down, to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! It was also convenient to dash back for an important meeting or sporting event. Now that the kids are older, they love the location because of the world-class surfing, the biking, bonfires, and the social scene in Capitola. And, we adults love the tranquil neighborhood, the proximity to a wide range of fantastic restaurants, and spending time with our family and friends in our comfortable home. Of course, the beach remains the main attraction for all of us!
The Unique Benefits at this House: What makes this home so special to us are the memories we've created. We cherish the times spent on the beach, watching the kids make sandcastles as toddlers, their first venture on the boogie boards as pre-teens, and now grabbing their surf boards and having fun with their college friends. We love entertaining friends and gathering around our family dining table, enjoying a meal prepared in our gourmet kitchen. And nothing beats sitting on the deck with a glass of wine at sunset, except maybe cozying up in front of a roaring fire in the copper and river rock fire place in the spacious living room. This is not just a “rental house”, this is a very special home for our families, so everything we would want for ourselves is here for you to enjoy.
