My fiance & I stayed in this condo a few weeks ago, and will certainly return. The description is completely accurate, and this condo exceeded our expectations. It is very nicely kept, the building is also beautifully maintained. The view was by far one of the best features of the condo, many mornings, sunsets, and the occasional afternoon nap was spent on that lanai. Just lovely! The beach below is also perfect for morning and moonlit walks. This was the perfect home away from home. Thank you so much Lisa & Gord.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in your condo so very much! Your perfectly appointed home had every possible thing we needed to be able to relax and enjoy our week-long stay. Your location is phenomenal and made getting to various activities extremely easy. Thank you for making our first trip to Maui an experience we will always treasure and never forget.

The place has everything we were looking for in terms of kitchen, amenities, etc. and the location is great - central for our activities around the island. Lisa (owner) is great and super friendly and helpful. We (3 of us) were extremely comfortable and would totally recommend this place.

Dear Lisa and Gord, Thank you very much for sharing your really wonderful condo with us! We arrived shortly before sunset and when we opened the entrance door we were stunned by one of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen! Your condo was perfectly clean, quite and cosy and the kitchen perfectly equipped. We really felt at home immediately! We usually started our day with breakfast and self made smoothies on the lanai enjoying the amazing oceanfront view (thanks for the mixer:-)) and ended our day on the lanai watching the stars. The beach directly in front of Menehune Shores is wonderful and calm and we indeed have seen some see turtles! We had eight unforgettable days on Maui and your great condo was one major reason for this! For us, your condo was definitely the best place to stay! We will recommend it to all our friends back home in Germany and hope to come back one day! Thanks a lot once again! Yours, Doreen and Philipp

Perfect Balance Between Private Ocean Front Lanai & Central Location

I am writing this review during one of my last mornings at this wonderful condo. Imagine this...private lanai, comfortable lounge chair, Maui coffee in hand gazing at a panoramic ocean view with palm trees swaying lazily in the forefront. Sound good? What I can't see, but feel and remember, is the amazing sleep last night in a king sized bed with soft sheets and the sound of waves lulling me to sleep. Well needed rest after a full day playing at one of the many beaches in Kihei and a moonlight walk down the beach in front of this condo. This condo is comfortable, well appointed and centrally located to access anywhere on Maui with ease. Great food, shopping, beaches, activities and yummy Mai Tai's are very close and easy to find. Booking and all transactions with the owner have been professional, friendly and completely above board. I would absolutely stay here again and will be recommending this condo to my friends and family. No need to worry about booking this one....it is what the owner says it is.....wonderful!

The first thing we saw when we walked into the condo is that view over the lanai. Frontal ocean views. We would just sit there in the morning to have breakfast, or watch the stars at night. The condo itself is very well furnished with towels, linens, soap (no shampoo) and the kitchen has all of the pots/pans/plates/utensils you'll ever need. There is no air conditioning but the fans and the ocean breeze does it for us. It's a comfortable place to stay and we love it. Parking is easy. A parking pass will be left in the condo for your stay, just put that in your car for the evening and all is good. Location is great. It's within a short drive to good restaurants, the market, etc. Did I mention the walk on the beach just behind the building? We're definitely coming back again. Lisa's been a wonderful host to answer any questions during our stay.

A Wonderful Week!

What a wonderful week! The condo was spotlessly clean, the king-sized bed extremely comfortable. Ceiling fans in the kitchen, living room and bedroom kept us very cool. Our e-mail contacts with the owner provided us with all the information we needed, in a very timely fashion. Kihei comprises a long, sunny and dry part of South Maui. So the weather is quite predictable - always beautiful! This was our first experience with the Trade Winds, and we welcomed them as they kept us cool. The beach outside the condo is shallow and perfectly calm in the mornings. There were never more than 3 people on it at any given time. It was also wheelchair accessible and we saw several people take advantage of that. Recommendations: A unassuming restaruant in a strip mall called Big Wave, about 1 mile south of the condo was our favorite. No loud music, no flamboyant drinks, but extremely good home-cooked fare. Their kalua pork - under a different name - was our favorite. Further south, perhaps another mile or two is Cafe 808. They have a great lunch menu and their sandwiches and wraps are superb. A great place to stop on the way to a day at the beach. For breakfast, Kihei Caffee stands alone. The owner thoroughly enjoys his customers, most of whom are locals. Eating there was just plain fun. All the beaches in Kihei were beautiful tho somewhat crowded. Big Beach, further south was just that - big. It is a long white crescent just perfect for walking with plenty of shade, deep clear sparkling water with a lifeguard. The warmest ocean water was along Rt. 30 near Olowalu.

Lisa & Gord. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your condo for 16 days. This was our 8th trip to Maui and 3rd stay at Menehune Shores. We love staying here for the quiet beachfront location, the easy access to the beaches in Wailea/Makena or to the bigger shops in Kahului, but especially for the outstanding views! It's so comforting to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean or to enjoy an early morning coffee on the lanai and watch the area come alive. Your unit has everything we needed to feel right at home; the free long distance calling and WiFi access were greatly appreciated. Mahalo!

Great return trip to maui

This condo was perfect for my husband and i's Ten days in maui. It was well stocked with everything we need. We like to cook ourselves and there was no shortage of supplies, including very sharp knives which we appreciate! This was our second stay at menehune shores, first time in this unit. The long distance for usa and canada was very handy, particularly when i was hurt at big beach near the end of our stay and needed to make phone calls home. Lisa was wonderful, even sending me a get well package. The managers take very good care of this unit, it was very clean. Sunsets are perfect on the lanai every night and the location is perfect for anywhere on maui you want to go. We would not hesitate to reccomend this condo to our friends and family or to stay here again ourselves.

Perfect location, amazing beach, extremely well maintained, clean and best of all the most amazing view, especially at sunset. I have raved to everyone at home about our stay in 516 and have recommended your place to everyone should they get the chance to visit Maui. Hope to return in 2014.

Lisa, Thanks for sharing your condo with us. We had a wonderful time!. Your unit was very clean with elegant and functional furniture and what spot you got there!. Slice of heaven. Sunsets from the balcony were perfect. Views of the ocean (right in the backyard) and west Maui mountains in a short distance are spectacular to say the least. We even saw whales at a distance right from the balcony. All the beach equipment (toys for our five year old, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, towels, mats..etc) came in very handy. Thanks again. Thanks, Lisa for sharing your cute condo. It was everything I expected and more; especially the view. I loved sitting on the Lanai for breakfast each morning. The manager, Darren, was excellent. He called me back in a very timely manner and handled everything, including recommendations for food markets, happy hour and shopping. My favorite happy hour is in Wailea at the Monkey Pod. They have the best Mai Tai's and tapas; it is from 3:30 - 5:30 with sunset views out on the terrace. I will be back to stay as soon as I can. The beach chairs, cooler and boogie boards also came in handy! Mahalo, Linda

Perfect Place in Paradise

We just returned from a two week stay in Kihei at the Menehune Shores. From the moment we walked into the condo we felt comfortable and completely at home. The owner is wonderful and sees to your every need. The beautiful sunsets in the evening are a wonderful treat, and we looked forward to them each night to see how different they were. On our next trip back to Maui, we wound definitely stay here. The perfect location, not too far and centrally located. The walks along the beach were perfect in the mornings. The building is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. We had a great vacation!

My girlfriend & I flew to Maui to celebrate her 40th birhday and we weren't disappointed with our accomandations! Lisa & her husband have a beautiful one bedroom condo with an even better view; unobstructed views of amazing sunsets even night! The unit has new stainless steel appliances, electronics, linens, pull out couch, beach gear and coolers, which allowed us to make day trips to some of the most beautiful beaches in Maui. There is a roof top patio where you can have a BBQ dinner watching the sunset. The property is very clean and close to shopping, beaches, and easy and central enough to get to most places on the island without driving the extra distance. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return to this little piece of Paradise! Mahalo Lisa.

Aloha, Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your condo. We were here with a group of 22 people and thay all said this was the nicest room. You really created the atmosphere of Maui. Nicely done! It was so Peaceful falling a sleep to the sound of the waves coming onto the beach. We had a great time watching our sons and nephews surfing. Maui is such a beautiful island with diversity of things to do. Great location. Hope to come back again in the future.

"There is nothing like this property for an affordable stay, amazing views, and the feeling of home. My sister, nephew and I stayed for five glorious nights. There is a huge sense of comfort when staying here. It's evident that Lisa and her husband have gone above and beyond to create a fabulous dwelling. Brand new appliances, electronics, linens, pull out couch. We took full use of the beach gear and cooler, which allowed us to make day trips to some of the most beautiful beaches in Maui. The management at this property was helpful and pleasant. There is a roof top patio where you can gather with other vacationers or just have a lovely BBQ dinner watching the sunset. Take full advantage of the lanai in the unit because it has the most beautiful, direct and unobstructed view of the sunset, whale watching, kite surfers, and outriggers practicing for their regattas. The property is very clean and close to shopping, beaches, and easy and central enough to get to most places on the island without driving the extra distance. It is situated on a bus route, which makes it easy and affordable to get around. I have been to Maui quite a bit and this is definitely the BEST unit I have ever stayed in. In addition I want to mention how open the communication was with dealing with Lisa. She made it easy and stress free for us. I was truly impressed! Mahalo nui loa!

We had a wonderful stay in this condo. The view was fabulous and the complex was very quiet. It has a very nice location for visiting all parts of the island. I can't say enough about how helpful Lisa was to us. We had a late flight out and unfortunately her condo was booked for the day we were leaving. She arranged with the property manager for us to rent another condo for the day to store our luggage and have a place to freshen up before our flight. She definitely went above and beyond.

We had a great vacation week on maui with hiking and visiting the local sights. The apartment is located in a good spot with easy access to all the island. The local beach is full of shells which was fun collecting each morning.

We flew into beautiful sunshine and heat and that is how it stayed for the whole week. Maui is looking like our "new home away from home" and looking forward to many more stays at #516. Lisa and Gord this place is great, thank you for making it very comfortable.
