Lake Placid house description
This charming 4 bedroom 3 and a half bath 2 story lakefront home is comfortable and in a very desirable location. Nearly every room in the house has a view of the lake. There are 2 bedrooms on each level. BR#1 has a king bed, BR# 2 has 2 twins, BR#3 has a queen and twin bunk beds, and BR#4 has a queen bed. The home has a private grassy waterfront yard and dock in a quiet bay on Mirror Lake.
Mirror Lake is a beautiful, quiet mountain lake with no motorboats. It is perfect for swimming, kayaking, or rowing. Mirror Lake has rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, perch and plenty of panfish - an excellent place to introduce kids to fishing and boating. Our home is situated directly across the street from the lake placid boat launch providing access to boating on one of the most picturesque large mountain lakes anywhere.
The village of Lake Placid, host of the 1932 and 1980 winter Olympics, is a quaint mountain town that is equally vibrant in both the summer and winter. The center of town with many restaurants, is a 5 minute walk from our home along a paved sidewalk that encircles mirror lake and is a jogger's or walker's delight.
When not hiking, paddling, fishing, downhill or cross country skiing, one can visit the Olympic venues year round including a ride on the bobsled, ski jumping competition, or the site of the miracle on ice 1980 USA hockey win.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Placid:
We chose to buy this property because of it's specific location on Mirror Lake and directly across the street from Lake Placid. It is wonderful to be able to walk the sidewalk around the lake and kayak to the shops and restaurants.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our family has enjoyed the serenity of Mirror Lake (non motorboat) and the convenience of walking across the street to Lake Placid. We walk the 3 mile sidewalk around Mirror Lake for exercise, shopping, eating at restaurants, and going to to movie theatre. We have nightly campfires in the yard and swim and fish for hours in the clean, calm water of Mirror Lake. We love Lake Placid as it is a charming town with clean, beautiful lakes and also a winter wonderland with amazing skiing and other snow sports.
