We rented this oasis of a house with another family and had an incredible much needed vacation. Both couples have 2 young kids so we had 8 people total in the house. The house can clearly accomodate many more people comfortably so the 2 families had plenty of space to spread out and get comfortable. The house is immaculate, the location is private and the protected beach was amazing for the kids and adults. We actually had sea turtles on the beach the first day and our kids eyes popped out of their heads. The kitchen is very condusive to cooking some great meals and is extremely well appointed. The house manager was responsive, attentive and pleasant to deal with. When we first arrived there were fresh cut flowers throughout the house and fresh local fruit that she had picked and put out for us. Very nice suprise. From the house it was easy to get any place on the island and the house manager was extremely knowledgeable about the island and made some great suggestions. The cost of the house seemed extremely reasonable given the quality of the experience and compared favorable to staying at a star resort. I would highly highly recommend and look forward to taking my family back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Aloha Dan, thank you so much for the great review. There are so many positive aspects of Hale Aliomanu I could never fully describe them all, but you did a great job outlining my favorite parts. The incredible, virtually private beach, so welcoming, for both young and old, safe with all the best to offer, shells, turtles, monk seals, dolphins, whales and the warm inviting waters of Kauai. And then to top off a great day, as you said, there is the great kitchen, perfect for a spectacular meal to match all the spectacular days at Hale Aliomanu. Mahalo. Jude

I have rented many homes for vacations, but this one tops them all! This house is amazing and in a great location. 25 Minutes to the north shore and 30 to Poipu. Jude the manager is the best manager I have ever dealt with. Not only did she give us a good last minuet deal (like the day before) she was always avlb by text or phone for anything, restaurants, weather, and places to go its like having your own concierge. She also grows the best white pineapple on the island, try it you will never eat golden again it was so good. Now for the house, open floor plan right on the beach and it has a guest house with a kitchen. Huge master bedroom with balcony. There are 2 kayaks and chairs to take to the beach. The snorkeling was great right in the back of the house and because of the reef it was calm all the time with no currents, good for all swimmers. You will hardly see anyone on the beach it was so nice. As I am writing this I am totally missing being there and were already trying to decide when to go back and were telling all our friends and family about this place. You will love this place and its location.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Aloha Mark, mahalo for taking the time to write such a nice review. I appreciate it and fellow travelers will also appreciate knowing how absolutely spectacular this secluded beachfront estate really is. I am always surprised to see the beach virtually empty, so blue and inviting. The morning after your departure I was at the home cleaning and looked out the front door to see a humpback whale breaching, full breach, completely out of the water, over 10 times. I literrally lost count. And if that wasn't enough there was a monk seal sleeping on the beach just 25 feet from the house. I hope to see you again in the future. Much aloha, Jude

If you think the pictures are great you should really see this place live, it was truly amazing. Nothing better then getting up in the morning taking a 5 second walk to the beach and seeing the sun rise or just staying in bed in the master suite and watching the sun rise from there. Although all beaches are public this one seemed like a private beach, nobody on it most of the time. There were many favourite parts to this house, one being the outside shower and of course the master bedroom. My wife had a milestone birthday and had family and friends come over so there was 9 of us in the house, plenty of room, could have easily had a couple more people. House is very private, quiet and very clean, if you are not relaxed after staying here then you have done something wrong. The best part about the nights, listening to the waves crash as you fall alseep, I have never slept so good in my life. Then there is Jude, the house manager. Awesome lady, easy to get a hold of, great to have a chat with, just a super person. Best white pineapple on the island, try it you will never eat golden again. I would recommend this property to friends and family, if fact I already have. I have talked to some friends about planning a trip with our 3 families and staying here again I have been to Maui a number of times and do not think i will go back, love Kauai, very relaxed and easy going Can't wait to come back, amazing vacation, house and island, plus i have not played all the golf courses yet Only complaint - having to leave, did not want toRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Mike, mahalo for the wonderful review. I must admit the number of days I walk out to the beach and find it completely empty always amazes me especially because the beach is so user friendly, so safe for young and old. Thank you for the compliments about our home. We are always trying to keep it perfect for our guests and its nice to know we are succeeding. I look forward to seeing you again and of course we can offer you a great discount for future rentals. Jude

All 13 of us stayed for a week to celebrate 70th birthday and 25 wedding anniversary. Kids ranged in age from 15 to 6. We all had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. Big backyard so kids could throw the football opening on to the beach for kayaking, snorkeling and boogie boarding. Perfect location. Everything was very well kept and clean. All appliances were top of the line; wonderful. We would recommend to anyone.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I picked this place for my family and everyone - from old to young - was thrilled with the beauty of it and also having our own beach which was usually private. It was beautiful and comfortable (though it's hard for 12 to sit down in the same place for dinner) and for how nice of a place it is, a great value for a large group like mine. Depending on how quiet and restful you want your vacation to be, you can just hang out at the house. There were also charming things about the neighborhood like a friendly neighbor on the beach to give you some local tips and a neighbor's dog who visited every day. It really is paradise and I would seriously consider, as would I think the whole family, choosing it again for a family holiday.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I have lived in and cared for Hale Aliomanu (VRBO 306938) and Hale Aloha (VRBO 308945). Both private gated estates are 200 feet apart on same secluded Aliomanu Bay. I have always loved the water, and after coming to Hawaii in the 70's when I was 17 I knew I'd never leave. We moved to Kauai in 2000 and love the ocean, surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and fishing. The quiet small town appeal of Kauai fits our personalities perfectly. Some of my most cherished family memories are from the estates at Aliomanu Bay. Please give us a call anytime about your vacation plans and this property. Much aloha, Jude and Paul Huber
Why the Owner Chose Aliomanu Bay:
Beachfront, Seclusion, Beauty, Investment, Location.
The Unique Benefits at this Estate:
Turquoise blue ocean views, watching the sun come out of the water from my deck, from my bed, from my front yard, whale watching in the winter, monk seals sleeping on the beach, dolphins in the summer, turtles year round and seeing the Milky Way like never before. The swaying 40 foot palm trees, the cool ocean breeze throughout the home, and the lulling sounds of the ocean are so enticing. And the shelling, finding coral letters on the beach that spell 'L O V E', walks on the virtually private beach, the children building sand castles everywhere and enjoying the quiet of Kauai that separates this home form many other oceanfront properties.
