Stayed for 6 days in this fully equipped home. The view was great and the home very clean. Close to town but far enough away. Sitting on the deck listening to the wildlife in the woods was so enjoyable. The birds would come to the feeder with you sitting right there! No complaints here!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We rented this refreshingly cool and restful place for three months. The home was clean and very comfortable. It was well equipped with everything you may need. The photos are accurately reflective of the home. This peaceful setting was so enjoyable at all times of the day. The cool mornings out on the deck with our coffee was a wonderful beginning to each day. The evening sunsets were ever changing from firery reds one night to cool pinks and blues another. Our days were spent exploring the areas treasures. We hiked to so many waterfalls, fished the streams and enjoyed plays at Flat Rock and concerts at Brevard Music Center. The restaurants are varied and something for every taste you may be looking for, too many to list. We covered Hendersonville, Laurel Park, and Brevard in our travels and were never disappointed. Don't miss going to "Jump off Rock" for the view or for sunsets.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came to the area to be close to Asheville and family in nearby South Carolina. The house was perfect! It was nice being at the end of the street in a cul de sac and in a quiet neighborhood. The house has everything one could ask for and then some...electronics, HDTV, internet, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc. Being a one level home is nice for folks who don't want stairs. Our hosts were beyond helpful and available when we had questions. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of room to unpack. The sunset views from the deck were lovely. Thanks for everything!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My husband and I were lucky enough to get away from the heat of Florida to this wonderful, restful place. The home is clean, comforable and cozy in a private area. What a wonderful place to enjoy nature overlooking the mountains with flowers, birds and nature surrounding. It is convenient to western North Carolina towns with so much to see and do. There is an abundance of hiking, waterfalls, shopping, dining and simple relaxing. It is now the end of September and the leaves are just starting to change with spectacular views every where. We would highly recommend it to family and friends!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much Sharon and Nick.We appreciate your love of the mountains and all the many attractions available,so readily. The view from the deck is awesome year round. The sunsets are breathtaking, but having your morning coffee our there is also equally as wonderful. We love the area. Please come again. Have a fantastic fall. Don & Linda

This mountain home is very clean and nicely furnished. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living area and in the eat in kitchen and attached dining room. The kitchen is well equipped. The master bedroom has a comfortable King bed and plenty of closet and dresser drawer space. The deck is new and wide, with plenty of seating and a sweet view of the blue ridge mountains. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the quiet, wildlife and vistas at any time of the day is very relaxing. On the daily drive up and down to the cottage we saw a red fox twice and white squirrels several times. Yes, they are white (not albinoes) and unique to this area. To see them up close, go to the Brevard College campus and they enjoy having their picture taken. Hiking and bike trails or just walking in nearby Dupont Forest and Pisqah National forest is the best in the country. Waterfalls are abundant in Dupont and Pisqah. Books and brochures on things to do and see are provided by the owners. Restaurants and shops on main street in nearby Hendersonville will keep one busy. We liked Hannah Flannaghan's for the variety as well as Mountain Deli for lunch, both on Main street. There were more things to do then we had time for and we stayed for the last 2 weeks of June 2011. The owners were very helpful throughout the reservation and arrival process. My wife and I enjoyed the mountain retreat so much we are returning for the entire month of August 2011 Mike and Connie FischerRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you ,Mike and Connie, What a pleasure to have such a lovvely couple. You truly were a blessing to us and you took such great care of our home and our plants. We hope that you can comeagain !!

We went to stay at the Moutain Getaway for an after Christmas retreat. My family and I enjoyed playing in the snow, building a snowman, and snow tubing for the first time. Everyone had a great time. We also traveled to Wolf Laurel ski resort to attempt skiing for the first time. My 13 year old daughter and 8 year old son picked it up like they were skiing for years. I on the other hand enjoyed it, but it took a lot of practice to stay upright on the skiis. We had a blast. We look forward to another visit to the mountains and would definately book this "getaway" again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks, Christmas Snowbunnies, We are thrilled that your family had a great visit. You left our house spotless. We always appreciate having someone in our home that enjoys the ammenities we offer .We hope that you and your family can make this adventure a yearly tradition.

This adorable home is nestled on Mt. Hebron with a breathtaking view of the Smokey Mts. The place is immaculate with extremely comfortable furnishings. The photos and the location description are accurate. My friends and I have stayed here at least 4 times in the last 3 years during every seasons; and during each visit, we have had a terrific time! There is so much to do closeby--hiking, visiting waterfalls, tubing, and rock-hopping for the outdoor enthusiasts. For those who love the arts, there are many interesting little museums featuring local artists and craftsmen. Throughout the surrounding small towns, there are many art and antique stores. We also attended Flat Rock Playhouse that is open most of the year with excellent plays. Attractions include The Biltmore (wow!), Carl Sandburg's home, Thomas Wolfe's home, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Grove Park Inn, and many other nearby attractions. There are also many great restaurants in Hendersonville and Asheville. Both are within 20-30 minutes of the property. If you just want to get away from it all, it is a wonderful place to curl up with a book and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the mountains. For a breathtaking day trip, we visitied Ben Long's frescoes at West Jefferson and Glendale Springs (a 3-hr. trip each way) through the Smokey Mts. Along the way, we stopped in Blowing Rock for shopping and wonderful meals. I would definitely recommend this property to my family and friends. The owners are extremely helpful and want their guests to have a fantastic time!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
