We stayed at the house with 8 friends and had a very good time. We enjoyed a lot the wood fireplace, the deck and the barbecue, and the house is really lovely and warm, being built entirely of wood.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented the cabin for a weekend getaway, with 8 adults and 2 dogs. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. There was some snow on the ground from the night before, but the owner had the driveway plowed so we had no problems getting onto the property. The fireplace was great and the hiking behind the cabin was beautiful. Thanks for a memorable weekend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners.

This is my third stay at the cabin since 2009! My friends and I rented the cabin twice this winter, once in January and again last month . We are OBSESSED with how charming the cabin is that we keep trying to find excuses to book weekends away! We live in NYC and love heading upstate for quiet time. We love to ski at Windham, which is just over 30 minutes away and the cabin's location is really convenient. The cabin sleeps 8 comfortably, but we had 9 people the second time around and used the couch. The bedrooms are fully furnished and the decor throughout the cabin is so much fun to look at. This place is literally all made out of wood! Our favorite spot was in front of the fireplace (perfect with a glass of wine and marshmallows!), which the owner keeps stocked with firewood. We brought our own just in case the firewood there was wet from the snow and hard to light. The pretty kitchen is equipped with enough pots and pans, silverware and utensils to cook and enjoy a quiet, secluded weekend with no outside distractions. We brought our own food for the weekend and had a blast cooking-in!! My friend's and I even joked about sending bids to the owner to buy the cabin from him. THAT'S HOW MUCH WE LOVE IT THERE! Each time we rented the cabin it was spotless! Very clean and comfortable. Near the fireplace is an album with photos of the cabin being built step by step. It was a lot of fun to look at. I have never used the cabin in the spring or summer, but I'm sure it's just as beautiful and look forward to using it AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN! Bring your own paper towels, toilet paper and towels. There are towels in the bathroom, but somethings you just like to bring from home. THANKS FOR A GREAT STAY!! ALL 9 OF US HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Perfect log cabin for New Year's weekend with friends

Eight of us stayed at the cabin over New Year's weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the property. When there's snow on the ground, you can sled all the way down to the stream at the bottom of the property! Might get a little dicey dividing up rooms among four couples, but we had two in the main floor rooms the entire time and the other two swapped the lovely master bedroom for the basement halfway through, and it worked out. The owner-made furniture throughout is a nice touch. BYO paper towels, toilet paper and other basics.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family (4 adults, baby, 4-year old & dog) spent last weekend @ Little Big North & had a great time. The house is beautiful & well-kept. Huge front/back porches, which were used often, really add to the charm. We used the grill out back every night we were there & even made a fire in the fire pit out front, which is a really nice amenity for us city folk who like to sit around a fire once or twice a year. Our dealings with the owner were also very pleasant...he answered any & all questions we had quickly & thoroughly, and even provided us with a handy guide that listed directions to all sorts of places around the area. The location was also really convenient...easy drives to get to Catskill, Athens or Hudson. Dutchman's Landing was a nice place for a picnic near the water, and we spent the better part of an afternoon tooling around the main drag in Hudson...lots of great shops! We'd definitely spend another family trip here!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were lucky to have rented this cabin on Presidents weekend. We were close to skiing at Hunter and Windham, we had great dining and shopping in Hudson and right in Catskill there was a Price Chopper and a Walmart. The house had everything we needed, including firewood for the fireplace. The owner was very helpful and easily reached. Definitely a place we will rent again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The owners of this cabin really took the time to make it feel like a cozy home for visitors -- from the recclaimed wood furniture to the thoughtfully laid out kitchen that allows you to cook and chat with friends while enjoying the fireplace. There is not a floral bedspread in sight (thank goodness) and it is impeccably clean. It's close to everything you need, yet feels secluded. The owner was also very easy to deal with. We'll definitely be coming back a few times a year to recharge our batteries.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spend the 4th of July week end in this amazing house. Everything is nice and the atmosphere is perfect to relax and chill. We had a lot of fun with the canoe, barbecues, hiking around, watching the stars on the terrace... Three couples and two children stayed at the house this past weekend and it was fantastic! The place is very tastefully decorated and very clean. We really enjoyed the open living room/kitchen and spent most of our time there. We hiked around the property to the river, it was pretty, albeit muddy from all the rain. We would love to come back in warmer weather. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners.
