House in need of TLC

This property did not contain all the amenities that were advertised. The house was dirty and was in real need of TLC and elbow grease. It advertised a pool alarm which did not work. We had two children in our party and the alarm was one of the reasons we chose this property. One of the washing machines was broke and had leaked before we got there so the rug on the lower level was wet when we arrived. Two of the TV's on the lower level did not work. The bi-fold laundry closet doors were off the closet and leaning against the wall when we arrived. There was dust and cobwebs in every room. The kitchen floor was filthy and the fridge smelled like fish. We had to wash all the silverware, dishes, and pots and pans before we used them. The dining room table broke the 3rd night we were there and our dinner landed on the floor. There is more but I'm short on space. We complained on several occasions to the rental realty company and they sent maintenance men to fix a few of the items but we were very disheartened by our experience and are in the process of composing a letter to the owner.

Owner response:All of the complaints above have been carefully and completely addressed. The house is under new rental management (Corolla Classic Vacations), and consequently much cleaner. The pool alarm is working. Both washing machines are now working, and the bifold doors are back on. the dining room table has been repaired.

This week, fourteen friends traveled from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, & Florida, to celebrate forty years of good times, weddings, births, & living. The week offered good weather & great laughs. We will remember this week for years to come. Life is good. And we have enjoyed it.

We are leaving TODAY even though we don't want to leave this beautiful house. We had a wonderful time, swimming, cooking steak on the grill, and sharing great moments with our wonderful family. Have to tell you we caught Spot, Flounder, Sea trout, Blues, Puppy drum and a Striper. Thank you for the Memories!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Last year we were dirven away by Hurricane Isabel and hesitated to return - so glad we did! Your home is very thoughtfully furnished for the comfort of your guests, and we are sad to leave. We love the Outer Banks, having discovered it only 6 years ago but have been back every year since. We love the pool. FYI - your pool guy is verey conscientious as well as being a really nice guy!! Again - thank you - we hope to return very soon.

Estate of Mind thanks for the fully equipped house of fun for our families ages 12 months - 66 yrs. Beautiful house, beautiful weather, most of all - a beautiful time with our wonderful family; such a blessing to be together in a comfy house. We'll try to be back next year! Fishing/crabbing - Whalehead Club, best early AM before 8 AM or after 8:30 PM Raw bar @Timbuktu fills up quickly. Raw oysters tasty
