Our stay at Cape San Blas was wonderful. The townhouse was about a 1 minute walk to the beach, if that, and it was at the very end of the Cape. We were a 5 minute drive from the nature preserve, where we were able to get access to the Bay for snorkeling. We were also able to use the pool, which was practically on the beach. The townhouse had everything we needed for our stay--linens, towels, paper products, and the kitchen was fully equipped for us to make our own meals. There are several good restaurants in Port St. Joe, but we chose to get our groceries on the way in and cook for ourselves most of the time we were there. There is a small restaurant about 5 minutes from Barrier Dunes called Coneheads, where we went for ice cream. Not that we cared to watch much TV during our vacation, but the season 4 premiere of Walking Dead came out while we were at the beach, and since we had cable, we were able to watch it. Overall, a great townhouse and great vacation! We had a delightful time!

Great place to stay.
Great place to stay.
We stayed with four adults, one 11 year old and a one year old. The condo worked fine and we used every bit of it including the loft. The loft has a daybed and a twin. The 11 year old loved it. There is a bit of a climb. The ladder to the loft is about 12 feet but that's not a big problem. The kitchen is well equipped and all appliances worked. The washer and dryer are on the second floor with the two bedrooms which really worked well. A big plus for this unit is that the beach is only a short walk away. I don't see any real negatives. The wind was really high our third day at the condo and the beach umbrella got shredded but I would assume it will be replaced. Also my wife felt like the unit could use an annual deep cleaning but again it was well serviced and ready to go when we arrived. Both the condo, the complex, and the beach are pet friendly if that is a need. Our dog had a ball.

We really enjoyed our stay here. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us as the condo could easily sleep 6. The complex was great with 2 pools and easy, close access to the beach and lots of friendly people! The condo itself was great. The internet didn't work and the TV in the main bedroom didn't work either but it wasn't too big of a deal for us. We didn't get cell phone service there either but sometimes it's okay to be disconnected! It was great to have a beach umbrella, some beach toys, a grill, plenty of kitchen stuff, and games available at the condo. "Coneheads" is a nice place to grab some food that is within walking distance. Other than that, you have to drive a bit to get anywhere to eat or buy food.

Absolutely loved this condo!
Absolutely loved this condo!
My fiance and I stayed at this condo while we were in Cape San Blas for a wedding. We decided to turn it into a weekend getaway, and we had the absolute best time. Condo is in great condition! Main floor has a nice sized living room, dining room, and kitchen (slightly older appliances, but no problems with them when we cooked), a half bath, and a nice sized patio with chairs and a table outside. Upstairs is two full bedrooms and bathrooms, and both bedrooms have their own patios, as well. The bed we slept in was very comfortable, and the thermostat and hot water worked great, too. There's also a loft space with two twin size beds up a ladder that would make for a cute addition if you have kids. Lots of games and books supplied for entertainment, and full cable too. The internet wasn't working while we were there, but we honestly didn't try to fix it. The owner was helpful when we asked, but then we decided it was honestly nicer without it. Check out the Triple Tails Restaurant while you're there, too! It's off the Cape toward Port St. Joe on the left... so good and good prices! The beach was beautiful and the pool at the clubhouse was the perfect place to relax. There's also a second pool, but I didn't wind up using the other pool. We attended the rehearsal dinner and wedding day brunch in the clubhouse at the property, and had a good experience there, too! Overall, just the best weekend and couldn't have asked for a better place to spend it! Book this place now!

About the owner: I am Alexandra McDavid, and I am in charge of renting out our beach townhouse for the summer for my dad (he isn't very handy when it comes to the internet and organization)
Why the Owner Chose Barrier Dunes:
It was always a great vacation spot for our large family. It has beautiful beaches and a lot less people than the surrounding Florida beaches.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
I go there to relax. It is less populated than the other beaches which I absolutely love. Everyone that you meet is great and just happy to be there.
