We loved our stay in your charming cottage in Stinson Beach! In addition to the modern comforts, I really appreciated the history of this house, the original part (the main room) of which is 100 years old – the rental office for the tent cabins here in the beginning of the century. The floor may slant a bit & the ceiling may initially seem low in the main room, but for me it brought back fond memories of my grandparents’ old summer place in New England. The house was very clean & tastefully decorated, the kitchen is all modern with a gas range & plenty of room, the bathroom small yet well-done (including nice shampoo, conditioner, & soap), the towels & linens good quality, & the bed we used comfy. It was sunny & light as advertised, and the back bedroom had nice views of the ocean. Outside, the low fence kept our small dog in while he enjoyed the backyard (beautiful Mexican sage!) & the front & side porches. Nice, clean hot tub &, best of all, the elevated deck in back. An excellent, modern addition! We had most meals there watching the ocean, including a lovely sunset. We loved the location – we walked barefoot from the house to the beach, & it was just a few minutes walk to Stinson’s town center by either beach or road. Folks we met were all very nice & friendly & this is dog paradise! The company managing the property is right around the corner and was very helpful & accommodating. We even bought fresh eggs at the office! They let us look at other rental properties, which was very educational. Lots of nice properties, all with qualities to recommend them, & we still felt that we ended up with the best one for us! With only two of us, we didn’t even use the two double beds so I’d like to return with kids and/or friends to take full advantage of the space. For organic, local foods folks, this area is heaven. A local farm was at the Stinson Market Friday pm & Saturday we got more lovely produce in Bolinas at the Gospel Flat farm stand – honor system and open 24 hours! Then we picked up just-off-the-boat local tuna at the Bolinas Market & had a simple, absolutely delicious meal watching the ocean from the deck. Our only meal out was at The Lunch Box, 3 months old, near the Parkside Café - delightful & delicious. You can probably tell we had a marvelous time! And we barely scratched the surface of what the area has to offer because we were so content to spend most of our time on the beach. We’ll be back soon! And will walk to nearby great trails!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you so very much! Not only for the wonderful review but for reminding us of why we bought this house and what a wonderful place Stinson and the West Marin coast is indeed! In fact, I hadn't been out to the house since June and managed an overnight after reading your review. It is a magical place and you've fully captured it in all the detail above. I couldn't have said it better. Thank you for your gracious words and sincerely hope you'll stay again.

Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: We are a family of 3 in the Bay Area. We come to the house often, but love to share our wonderful cottage with others. We know you'll love the house, the perfect location, and, of course the beach as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Stinson Beach:
We've come to Stinson Beach every year since our child was very young. After several years of day trips and summer rentals, we finally took the plunge and bought this house in 2006. We enjoy the house and Stinson Beach as much today as the first time we were there and look forward to keeping this home in our family for generations to come!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A perfect day at Stinson: Sleep in, waking up to the sounds of the waves. Breakfast and coffee on the view deck (or brunch at the Parkside Restaurant). Play on the beach, then walk to lunch at the beach grill. Wander around town, then bike to Seadrift or take a hike on the Dipsea or Steep Ravine Trails. Back to the beach. Dinner at Stinson Beach Grill or Parkside (or drive to Bolinas or Point Reyes), or cook fresh food from the market. Watch a DVD, go in the hot tub, and call it a great day!
