We have stayed at several homes on West Shore and we loved this one! The open, airy floor plan is hard to come by at Tahoe, so it was a nice treat. The gas fireplaces in the living room and TV room made it very homey as well. The games and game table were an added bonus with the kids. A quiet street made it nice to go outside and play as well. Close to lake, bike paths & hiking. They had all the amenities and the owners were always readily available. Clearly a loved home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This house is comfortable, cute and a great location. We drove right down to the shuttle stop across from Sunnyside for a shuttle to Alpine which was really easy. We arrived in a blizzard but the road and driveway had been plowed so we didn't have trouble getting in. The open floor plan was nice. And the owners were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Clean, well-appointed home in Sunnyside was a perfect fit for our two families (total of 6 people). Great location just 15 minutes from Alpine, 5 minutes from Granlibokken (for fun sledding), close to the grocery store, and close to Tahoe City for a night out. Kitchen is well appointed - there were enough pots/pans/dishes/glasses/cooking utensils. Dining room table was spacious with comfortable seating. Bedding/towels/pillows were all high quality, and mattresses were in very good shape. Wireless internet worked well -- a great plus for those who can never leave their work behind! The home has two sitting areas - one with a tv, one without. This is a great feature for families who want to let the kids watch a movie while they chat in the other room (close enough to keep an eye out without having to watch cartoons). We looked at pricing at nearby resorts as well (with kitchens), and this home is the better deal, by far. The home is well appointed with nice furniture, art/mirrors, plenty of books, and a basket of stuffed animals for the kids. We enjoyed our stay, and would absolutely consider staying here again or recommending this to a friend.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This cabin was cozy, inviting, and perfect for our group (two families, each with one young child). The kitchen and living space are nicely furnished and clean. The area surrounding the property is also well maintained. The cabin is close to the popular Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge and Meeks Bay, which we visited during our stay. : ) I would definitely recommend this cabin!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Owner info
About the owner: We live for the outdoors. Now with a toddler, we want him to have a chance to share our passion of forest, snow and sunshine. You are renting our home away from home and we'd love you to enjoy the special feeling we get every time we're up there.
Why the Owner Chose Sunnyside:
We wanted a place close to everything on the West Shore - from Homewood to Sunnyside to Tahoe City - yet secluded and quiet. With the lil one, we wanted no tricky staircases, no open lofts - room but safety. We couldn't have picked a better place!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The small set of streets that make up the Timberland area south of Sunnyside is a quaint community of full-time occupants who are outdoor enthusiasts. Dozens of trails leading into the Tahoe forest are a block or two away. Be at Sunnyside or the Fire Sign Inn in 2 minutes, Homewood and Tahoe City in 5 minutes or the Alpine/Squaw ski area in 15-20. Hurricane Bay Beach with its great lake views is a 10 minute stroll.
