Come to one of Flathead lake's finest properties. The lake house is a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom 2200 square foot home with a partially finished basement that sits on approximately 8 acres by the lake. There are approximately three acres of gently sloping open forest with wild flowers and other native plants around the house and the lake shore. This unique lake front property has over 300 feet of private lake frontage with views of Wildhorse island and the Mission mountain range to the east across the lake. The lake shore includes a 48 foot dock and swimming area, a shaded picnic area, and a fire pit for evening campfires and marshmallow roasts. The home is accessed from US Highway 93 by a long driveway through a small meadow to give you plenty of peace and quiet. Water craft rentals are available nearby or you can bring your own and head out to Wildhorse island for views of Bighorn moutain sheep, Mule deer, and maybe even a Mountain lion or Wild horses.
In addition to the lake property we have over 200 acres of rugged and beautiful private land with world class views of Flathead Lake, Wildhorse Island, and the Mission Mountains. There are abundant opportunities to view wildlife, find fossils, and take in some of the most amazing views Montana has to offer. This property is located across Highway 93 from the Lake house.
This property has been in the Winkley family for 3 generations since 1934. We hope others can enjoy it as we have.
This is a wonderful place to totally relax or take in all our area has to offer. Shopping is available in Kalispell or Polson. Glacier National park and the National Bison range are both an hour's drive away. Fishing, Mountain Biking, or Hiking opportunities are abundant. Relaxing by the w.ater is a stone's throw

In Kalispell, contact the Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks or the Flathead National Forest office for maps & information on local recreation. Fishing in Glacier Park is available with a park pass. Try Fly fishing on the Flathead river North of the lake. Flathead river has three forks with many smaller streams feeding them. For lake fishing try Lake Mary Ronan, about 10 miles to the South and West. Flathead Lake fishing requires a boat, some knowledge and equipment and an extra permit for the South half on the Reservation. Local sporting goods stores are located in Kalispell or Polson.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1980
About the owner: Jane and her late husband Jerry built the current house on this property in 1979. Jerry passed away in 2006 and Jane has decided to allow others to enjoy this fantastic property that was originally purchased in 1934 by her father-in-law.
Why the Owner Chose Rollins:
Jerry grew up right next door (1/4 mile away). After they married, they lived in St. Louis for 17 years, but spent every possible summer vacation up here and they both knew they wanted to 'retire' here. They started purchasing the property in 1965 and started building the house over the phone in 1979. They had a good contractor and a lot of trust. They moved into the finished house in July, 1980.
