We stayed here for a relaxing "Mommy's Getaway" before the kids went back to school and this home was perfect for the 5 of us! The place is very cozy and offered everything that we were hoping for. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms spacious and the hot tub and pool table were a treat! The kitchen is well equipped with lots of serving utensils, dinnerware and wine glasses, the most important of all on a Mommy's getaway! The house is fairly close to the strip and casinos and Safeway and Rite Aid are right down the street. The wi-fi was easy to access and best of all, the house provides HD channels, which I believe is such a necessity! Jonathan and Laura were both so nice to work with and very attentive to our needs. Jonathan was always an email away and always quick to respond to my inquiries. Thank you Jonathan and Laura for having us in your home. We can't wait to visit again next year!

Our recent weekend in this property turned out to be a good one. Everyone enjoyed the hot-tub very much as the jets were strong and water warm! The billiard table was the most popular item, someone was playing with it at any given time. The two sofa beds were very useful and practical for those who wanted something firmer. Having three bathrooms was a blessing! Having HD tv was awesome! I'm just particular, as there were a few things we'd we had. But it's nothing to deduct from the home. The digital thermostat was rather complex to adjust, so we just opened windows. Some of the dishes were not clean, but another run thru the dishwasher did the job. Having a range over the oven would have been a nice to have, but wasn't necessary. Though the frame of one of the twin sized beds broke, it didn't affect our stay or comfort. The beds could be a bit firmer, but they were aceptable. The addition of a propane bbq grill would have been nice :) All in all, the house is quite nice and is recommended!

We had a group of 10 stay here for 6 days over 4th of July week. Renting was very easy and the house was better than we expected. The kitchen was very nice and equipped with most everything we needed. The pool table was a huge hit and we had a great time hanging out in the back yard (although it would be nice if there were a table out there). All of the beds were very comfortable, however we opted for air mattresses over the pull out couches. The house was just a mile and a half or so from a great beach that had BBQs, picnic tables and a place to rent paddle boards and kayaks. We were also just a few minutes ($11 cab ride) from the casinos and there was a small golf course right across the street. The only issues we had were that the two trash cans in the garage weren't enough for 10 people, even though we had them emptied during trash day. Also, the Jacuzzi was broken the first couple of days, but as soon as I let the owner know he had someone out there to fix it within a day, which was fantastic. Overall we had a great stay and were thrilled with the house, location, and owners. We definitely hope to stay there again!

We went up to S. Lake Tahoe for our yearly Summer trip and decided to stay in a the Sierra Chalet. Everyone in our group was VERY happy that we did it. The house itself is really nice. It is a big roomy home with beautiful furniture, a very elegant pool table.. huge hot tub in the back yard where you can enjoy the stars through a canopy of giant pine trees. Our children really enjoyed the big front and back yards and had a blast playing every evening when we came back. The pictures in the ad don't begin to do it justice. It is really the nicest place we stayed in Tahoe and cannot wait to return. Thanks again for a perfect vacation!

The house is clean and nicely furnished. We went with my entire family...6 adults and 4 kids and everyone had a great time. The pool table and tire swing were a nice surprise for the kids. It was so nice to be able to let the kids out back to play and not worry about them. The downstairs room with the pull out sofa was perfect for my father in law who isn't able to go upstairs. There is a downstairs bathroom with a small shower. It was perfect. Also nice to have plenty of parking without worry.

We went with a group of friends for a little Summer vacation. We were absolutely delighted by the property. The house itself is well kept, and beautifully furnished. It is a very large house with plenty of room for us to have our privacy when needed. The grounds are also lovely. The front and back yard are very large with soaring giant pine trees... breathtaking! We were happy that it only took us 5 minutes to get to the lake... casinos were also close by. Everything about the house was perfect.. location, beauty, and charmg... The owner was also friendly and professional to deal with. We highly recommend this house and will be back next year!

Words cannot convey the HORRIBLE experience that my guests and I had at the Chalet. We were expecting a nice getaway but received an appalling injustice to what could have been a perfect vacation. The rental was beautiful and we were all very ecstatic to be in the environment. However, the vacation took a turn for the worst when our temporary “home” (at the moment) left us waterless. This continued for approximately two and a half hours. We contacted the homeowners (Jonathon and Laura) to report the issue so that it could be resolved like they had instructed us to do if there were any problems as per the instructions of the rental agreement. Contacting Jonathan was difficult, so we called Laura. Speaking with Laura, not only was she rude but she refused to fix it. She hostilely told us to attempt to fix the problem ourselves by finding the water valves because she was too far away to cater to our needs. She continued to tell us to contact her husband, but we were still much inconvenienced because we needed to prepare dinner and shower after a long day. She could have called a plumber or taken other measures to provide us with running water, but she didn’t. We went for hours without water and eventually had to figure it out ourselves. This created a tense situation between Laura and my guests as to where Laura proceeded to yell and call us names, even threatening to call the police on us. She told us we had to leave her home immediately, if not we will be arrested for trespassing. Because Laura had been so unprofessional during our conversation and threatened to call the police on us, we took extra measures to videotape and take pictures of the rental before we left to protect ourselves from future false accusations. Because there was no damage or trashing of the home, our full deposit was returned. As for any type of reimbursement for our stay, they didn’t offer anything for our lost, not even an apology after we left. AS GUEST OF THEIR HOME, WE SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED “GUEST” TREATMENT, BUT RATHER WE WERE SUSPECTS TO UNNECESSARY ATTITUDE FROM THE PERSON OF WHICH WE WERE TO CONTACT IN THE CASE THAT ANYTHING WAS TO NOT GO AS PLANNED. I would NOT ever dream of anyone having to fall blight to encounter such unprofessional people to shatter what is suppose to be a wonderful getaway. She ruined our vacation and we hope you don’t give her the opportunity to ruin yours.

Owner response: This was a group of young people who rented our home for a weekend to go snowboarding. I got a voice message from them that was incredibly hostile about the water being shut off. I immediately called the young woman who left the message back to try to assist. She started yelling at me and cursing! Not wanting to be cursed anymore I asked to speak to her Husband so I could tell him how to go out back and turn the water valve on. He got on the phone and continued the tirade. They both were screaming and cursing at me for at least 10 minutes. It was incredibly difficult to try to talk them through turning the valve on because I was being cursed out and they were indignant that they had to do it in the first place. So, I told him that he could calm down and listen to me, or I could call a repair man out which might take longer and that it would be faster and easier for him to listen and go turn the valve on himself. The issue was a simple one as the hot tub had been serviced that day while they were snowboarding and the hot tub guy forgot to turn the main valve back on. My suggesting that he listen to me further infuriated him and he continued yelling and cursing me. Having had enough abuse I hung up and called the hot tub company and sent them out to fix the problem which they did. While I was speaking with the hot tub company I receive a barrage of text messages from the young woman who originally called. Homeaway won't allow referring to any curse words in their reviews but let's just say she texted calling me everything in the book. Things that were so threatening and uncalled for that I called her back and told them they needed to leave the house. There was absolutely NO reason for them to curse the homeowner and scream when there was a small easily resolved issue to deal with. Their attitude was that they were renting rooms at the Four Seasons and expected to be able to fly into a rage when something went wrong and still have the owner be obsequious to them and just tolerate being cursed out and threatened. I suppose being a group of very young people contributed to this bad behavior. Thran, the renter on the contract and the one who wrote this review never once spoke to me during this whole fiasco. She got a one sided view from her text messaging friends about what happened and likely doesn't know how threatening her friend was toward the owner of the property that she rented.

We stayed here for my birthday in April, it was great. We had a party of ten adults, and we were all very comfortable. The House looks like all the picture, very beautiful. The hot tub was great after a day of snowboarding. Very close to Heavenly and the casinos. My only thing bad would be there should really be another garabge can or two. when we got there all cans were already full .Other than that one very small thing we loved staying here. I was able to book very last mintue, 3 days before our arrival, Laura was a pleasure to deal with, everything went so smooth. we will absolutly tell ours friends and will stay there again next time we go to Tahoe. Thank you so much.

Owner response: Thanks so much! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and will be purchasing additional trash cans immediately per your suggestion. Unfortunately the neighbors just now made us aware that two trash cans were blown away during the snows. We will definitely get that fixed... Thanks again! Best, Laura

I went on a 4 day vacation to Tahoe in November. It was a beautiful home, however, upon arrival I noticed that the couches had stains on them. For this reason I took before and after photos of the home. The screen door was broken, and a couple of basic kitchen supplies were not provided (ie.no blender and can opener). We did not contact the owner because I felt it was not a big deal. When we left the home, we cleaned up as much as we could. Left a few dishes in the sink, some towels that needed to be washed, and the garbage cans/bags in the garage because it was going to snow that day. We left a bag of beer cans in the back porch. The home was not filthy but may have needed some tidying up. The next day I get a rude email from the owner stating that she was upset that we trashed her home. She called me names and was very inappropriate/unprofessional. She accused me of a lot of things which were not true. I still have the emails. She sent me pictures of the “trashed” home but I only got pictures of cans in a plastic bag and few cans that were blown on the grass (in the backyard) by the wind/snow. I did not receive any pictures showing that the home was trashed. I paid for a cleaning fee for a reason. I had no idea that I was supposed to leave the home Spotless. The contract shows no clause saying that the home needed to be spotless. To all future renters, leave the home spotless or you will also deal with what I dealt with. Good luck! Also the listing shows as 2900 Square feet on the internet. ON Zillow it is only 2617 Square feet.

Owner response: A thorough walk through was done of the house prior to this groups arrival and the home was in pristine condition. Upon vacating our cleaning lady called crying because these renters had trashed the house so badly. They broke the new refrigerator by allowing their children to use the shelves in it as a ladder, every shelf was broken to bits. They left a huge dent in the front of the stainless steel. The couches were pristine prior to their arrival but upon their vacating they were so badly stained that they required a professional cleaning. They broke the screen door and the hot tub was green with filth and appeared to have been urinated in. The front and back yard were strewn with 100's of beer cans along with several dirty baby diapers. The inside of the house was so filthy and trashed that it took our cleaning lady three days to finish. This woman who wrote the review here became irate when I told her we must keep her deposit to pay for the damage to our property and started cussing me and sending threatening emails over and over again. We have never had a problem with any other group or renters before or after. Her review is inaccurate to say the least.

This is one of the best neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood is flat, so there are no worries about losing control of your vehicle in winter weather. The location is central to everything.
