Lake Wedowee is a beautiful, peaceful lake in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, with over 270 miles of shoreline. The water is clean, and the lake offers some of the best fishing in the state! The town of Wedowee is about an hour from the Talladega Speedway, and just 1.5 hours from Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA.
Our home is on a secluded, 1½ acre lot with 156 ft. of waterfront and a private dock. We are ½ mile from a public boat ramp, and just minutes from the town of Wedowee.
The house has an open floor plan, high ceilings, and beautiful views of the lake from almost every room. In the living room is a 52 inch TV with HD Satellite and a DVD player. The furniture is new and comfortable, with a leather dual reclining sofa and leather reclining chair.
There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. One of the bedrooms has a full-size bed and a daybed with 2 twin mattresses; the master bedroom has a queen size bed; and the third bedroom has a queen-size bed. There is also a love-seat in the living room that opens to a twin size bed.
The kitchen is bright, modern, and functional. Appliances include a Jenn-Air stove with grill top, refrigerator with in-door ice and water, dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster, and blender. There are ample utensils, dishes, cookware, etc.
Outside, there is a double deck; one covered, one open. Each is the full width of the house. On the upper (covered) deck there are two barbecue grills (one propane, one charcoal) and seating for 10, including a porch swing. The upper deck has ceiling fans with lights. From the lower deck, it is a short walk to the water.
We now have WiFi (wireless internet) at our house!

Our family rented this wonderful home for a fall get-away and we were so pleased with everything about the place. The weather was perfect for the girls to sit on the back deck in the swing while the guys were inside enjoying the football game. This home is clean and well kept and the furniture is so comfortable. We are already talking about booking another trip in a couple of months. The owners are very nice and easy to deal with. The kids loved the paddle boat.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

We have river property in Randolph County and love the area. The weekend of imy husband's birthday, he wanted to visit, but t was too hot to camp,. We made the wise decision to spend a few nights at Lake Wedowee. Such a beautiful and clean lake - not overly crowded and quiet, especially compared to lakes around Atlanta. This house was the perfect size for our getaway and the location was very private. Enjoying the cove/lake view from the house, trees line the yard, so the houses around you aren't visible. The cove itself was very quiet, so we enjoyed swam and usj g the paddle boat safely. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for a great time...

What a wonderful house, we rented for the weekend to meet some family. We had a wonderful time and the place was amazing. The owner was wonderful to talk to and very helpful in everyway. The house was just as described and very comfortable. It is far enough away from the water to feel safe with children, but close enough to enjoy. We would rent again.
