Our family of 5 (kids ages 6, 11,and 12) stayed at this wonderful house over Labor Day weekend. The house was exactly as pictured on the web site. The hosts, who live right next door were extremely accommodating and very friendly. Mary braided my daughters hair (which she absolutely loved) and helped her catch her very first fish and Azim took our son for a kayak ride Our kids loved spending time in the water, jumping off the peer and enjoyed all of the water toys that were there. The pontoon was enjoyed daily for fishing, tubing, and just for taking a ride around the lake. Everyone also enjoyed the kayak which holds two. There is also a large firepit in the back yard where we enjoyed smores in the evening. The hammock was also a huge hit with the entire family and was a relaxing place to watch the sun set. The chairs by the lake were a perfect place for coffee in the mornings and a glass of wine in the evenings. The house was well stocked with all of the essentials and the sleeping arrangements were good. There is a grocery store close by where you can also rent movies. Pizza and ice cream were also very near by. Thank you for making our stay so relaxing and comfortable. We would love to return for a longer visit next time.

Owner response: We were very fortunate to meet this lovely family. They were very sweet, friendly, and we enjoyed their friendship. We look forward to host them again in the future.

The listing and photos are accurate; would recommend. The property is outstanding for a family with small children. There is a swing set that can be seen from the kitchen and dining room so the kids have a place to play when not in the water or on the beach. The lawn is large, clean and attractive for additional play space. It is shaded by multiple trees on the west but not so many that they block out the sunset over the lake. The beach is one of the best on this lake. The sand is clean and deep and extends out in to the water. The lake bottom is sandy and shallow for quite a distance so the kids have a lot of play area in the water. The pontoon boat is clean, with adequate space for the family, and a tank of gas that lasted the whole week for us. The availability of the tandem kayak was also great for touring the lake in the quiet mornings or evenings with either another adult or one of the kids. It accommodates 2 adults but is light weight enough to allow one adult to paddle. The house is clean, the kitchen stocked and adequate and the sleeping arrangements good. The house has AC and we could not have been without it. The weather was very hot and dry when we were there and it was great to be able to have a respite from the heat at midday. There is no dishwasher and this allowed us to teach the kids the old fashioned way of cleaning dishes - they thought it was great fun to help. The owners are friendly, accommodating, and helpful if there is a problem. They live next door and will give advice on nearby activities, grocery stores, etc. One of our kids left a toy at the house and they were kind enough to return it to us by mail. We have left things in other homes we have rented and did not even get an notice that we had left something. All around, this is a great place with great amenities.

I have rented homes in many parts of the country, sight unseen, and it is always a pleasant surprise when it turns out well. Our two families (Minnesota and Oregon-based) so enjoyed being able to relax and play together. The cousins (all 20-somethings) loved the lake and watching the sunsets, as well as playing volleyball (w/out a net) in the large yard. The adults appreciated the fact that they could barbecue for the whole family, including the Michigan and Colorado-based families who also attended the wedding. Mary and Azim were very helpful with suggestions on where to eat, shop for food, etc. and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. The house was clean and well-maintained. The peonies were just beginning to bloom and the baby robins were just leaving their nest under the eaves of the patio cover. Hopefully the baby turtle eggs we watched being laid will make their way to the lake :) This is a great location if you are attending a wedding at the Kellogg Manor. It is a very easy drive from the house to the Manor. The last evening we watched a great lightening show over the lake. All in all it was a vacation full of memories we will all cherish. Thanks again Mary and Azim.

We rented this home sight unseen and it proved to be perfect in every way......exceeding our expectations! There was plenty of room for our family; including 5 grandchildren! Accomodations were clean and pleasant.....a large dining table inside and a smaller one on the patio. The large yard....complete with a swingset, hammock and fire pit......had plenty of running and playing space between the shade trees! The sandy bottomed beach was just what we wanted for the young ones to be able to walk way out and get comfortable in the water. It was well worth renting the pontoon boat for the week as we used it every day! All the kids caught fish off the dock, fireflies at night and made smores over the campfire! Renting the jet ski was great fun for the grown ups, and we all took turns kayaking along the lake shore. We took advantage of day trips to the nearby Air Zoo in Kalamazoo, the Gilmore Car Museum and local u-pick blueberry farms. Our hosts, Mary and Azim, were gracious and accomodating in every way. It was like having really nice neighbors next door.....folks you felt like you'd always known! Thank you for making our stay an awesome family reunion vacation! We certainly hope to return in the future!

Our group of two families with three teenagers spent a week at this property, and had a very enjoyable week. The house and grounds are clean and well maintained, and the property is accurately represented. The lake was very quiet during the week, we enjoyed water skiing and jet skiing on the glassy water. The lake is clear and plenty big enough to have a lot of fun on. The swimming is great, mostly weed free, with a nice sandy bottom. The yard is plenty big enough and flat enough for lawn games like cornhole, and the western exposure makes for nice sunsets. If you don't bring a boat, the available rental pontoon boat would be great to have. The dockage provided was ideal for our 20' center console boat. Delton has a nice grocery store, and the pizza place in town serves great ice cream. We found plenty of local produce available at some roadside stands just south of town. Being just 15 minutes north of Kalamazoo was a big help when we needed a part for our jet ski, and all the big box stores are available on the chance that you forget any essentials when you pack. Finally, our hosts were very helpful, and anxious to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
