If you want to be as close to the ocean without actually being in it, this top floor, oceanfront condo at Seascape is for you! The view anywhere from the deck, living room and bedroom to the Atlantic Ocean and miles of beach is breathtaking.
Seascape looks out directly at a primary surfing area along the beach. The condo deck, off the living room and bedroom, offers a great vantage point from which to watch the action and look at the north pier. Late summer evening dinner on the deck is one of the special experiences this condo offers and the view is spectacular. It feels as though you are on a ship, with an expansive view of the beach and ocean.
There is also a beautiful view of the inter-coastal waterway and marsh of the island from the large kitchen window.
Seascape property also offers a private pool with a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Outdoor grills are available near the pool for family or group outings. This condo is perfect for couples or small family.
Two blocks away is the entrance to Freeman Park, a 1 ½ mile stretch of open beach, and one of the last few beaches you can drive on. If you have a 4-wheel drive you can drive right on the beach and spend the day fishing, surfing, swimming, walking or just enjoying the ocean breeze.
Carolina Beach Boardwalk is an easy bicycle ride away. Enjoy seasonal concerts, fireworks, outdoor movies and a Farmer's Market. Experience the sights and sounds of the carnival rides, arcade games, cotton candy and Britt's Donuts at the Boardwalk. You can find the dates for these activities and other information at www.pleasureislandnc.org.
About the area:
Carolina Beach and Seascape are located on Pleasure Island that is accessible by bridge from the north or ferry boat from the south. Charter boats for fishing, dining, and tours are located in Carolina Beach. Restaurants, shopping, the North Carolina Aquarium, a small amusement park and beach rentals (bikes, etc.) are also on the island. There is a bicycle path that runs along a part of the island. There are two piers on the island for fishing. Our condo is located about 1-2 blocks from the one on the north end of the island.
Pleasure Island features various festivals throughout the year. The Spring Festival at Carolina and Kure Beaches features live entertainment, arts and crafts. Several Golf courses are located close by. There are several shops in the area featuring beach items ranging from clothing to home decor. Numerous restaurants serve meals ranging from snacks and casual to more formal evening meals.
Going south on the island, only minutes away, is Fort Fisher Historical Park and Aquarium in Kure Beach. You can also take the ferryboat which makes the half hour trip to the quaint town of Southport. Cars or Bicycles may be taken onto the ferry that goes from Fort Fisher to Southport, both great places to visit.
North, and also a short drive away, is the historic port city of Wilmington where you will find cobblestone streets filled with a variety of shops and restaurants.
Wilmington plays host to various special events. One is the North Carolina Azalea festival in April featuring live musical and theater performances, garden and historic homes tours, outdoor activities, food and crafts. During the summer outdoor activities are scheduled along the Wilmington riverfront. The North Carolina Battleship Museum and riverfront cruises are in Wilmington.
The condo has a good size bedroom with walk-in closet, door to the deck, large ocean facing window, with a Queen-size bed. In the living room is a full-size, very comfortable, futon. Either place affords a great place to listen to the ocean while you doze off to sleep.
There also is a door in the bedroom with direct access to the deck overlooking the beach, as well as a sliding glass door in the living area where the futon is located.
New sliding door and all windows were replaced in Spring of 2012. The entire inside walls were painted this April 2013. The bathroom and kitchen floors are tiled. Our vacation home has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, blender, toaster, coffee grinder and coffee maker, as well as all the other utensils to make your meals in case you decide to relax on the deck while looking at the ocean. There is a table and chairs on the deck for your enjoyment while you relax outdoors and watch the sky, ocean, surfers, pelicans and dolphins!
The sandy beach is 7 miles long and accessible by City-maintained walkways placed periodically along the beach. Due to Winter and Spring storms the beach fluctuates but is protected by rocks shown in the photos. The City access ways allow entry to the beach.
Vacations are a time for fun and relaxation.

Great one bedroom condo. The view is AMAZING. The owner was a pleasure to work with and I got prompt responses from her. I do wish the bedding would have been a little updated other than that is was a perfect weekend getaway.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

At high tide, the waves are literally about 35 feet away from the balcony, and both the living room's extra wide sliding door and also the bedroom's large window are oceanfront, extremely rare for a 1-bedroom condo! I loved staying in this clean, accurately-depicted place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.
