Aloha! As you plan your next vacation in Hawaii, be sure to consider lodging in the finest condominium complex on Molokai Island: the Paniolo Hale condos. Located on Molokai's beautiful west end, our updated vacation rental has a full kitchen, cathedral ceilings, and a generous screened lanai (porch) in this condo unit near the pool. As you relax in the unit, the gentle, constant Trade Winds blowing through the unit keep you naturally comfortable. R-2 has a great orientation for that feature and it makes the experience unforgettable.
The unit is spacious and airy. There are two floors, each with a full bath! The upper level has a generous bedroom with a queen bed and plenty of storage capacity, and a full bath with launderette. Downstairs is another full bath, a fully equipped kitchen with a counter/bar for easy service of meals to the dining area, plus additional living space and, of course, the wide-open screened lanai. The futon downstairs easily sleeps 2 and is a comfortable couch during daytime use.

Why the Owner Chose Paniolo HaleWe first visited Molokai in 1990, and had a chance to return to it in 1999. The second visit, when we stayed with good friends at their Paniolo Hale condo, deeply impressed us. Molokai has just what these former Wisconsin natives want: peace, natural beauty, warm Hawaiian culture, and that unmistakable "aloha" spirit that we crave! We found the rural, open countryside quite suitable for our tastes and we wanted to go back again and again. Sunsets and the night sky contribute to unusually clear and spectacular viewing, a huge plus for an astronomer-wannabe.
The Unique Benefits at this CondoOur condo is in a remarkably beautiful environment on Molokai's west end. We constantly update and improve the unit. Once inside, you just kick off those shoes and soak in that relaxing feeling of being "away from it all". Our unit is situated such that when the Lanai doors are open, there is a constant breeze that flows through to cleanse the senses. On the lanai, while remaining quite indoors, you will look out onto green grass, palm trees and beyond that to the pool. Flowering bushes surrounding our unit gently lift your spirit as it re-energizes and renews itself. Fishing off the shore is a great way to catch some dinner, and no license is required. Sunsets over Diamond Head are just out the door and through the complex, a 5 minute walk. Take along your beverage of choice as you await the setting sun and watch the surfers, monk seals, turtles, waves. The famous "green flash" from the sun's last rays, plus panoramic cloud formations and "God rays", make sunsets off our beach a magical experience. Make some memories, Molokai style!

We are two Hawaii-lovers who enjoy travel, visiting, and an uncluttered relaxed life-style. Both of us are retired, Sue more recently than Ralph. Sue worked as a geriatric and rehabilitation nurse, raising three lovely children while Ralph worked as a Bell Laboratories physicist. In 2010 we sold our home in New Jersey and moved to Palm Coast on the east coast of Florida . (Beaches have no high rise buildings nearby, just wide expanses of sunny sand and sea, reminiscent of our beloved Papahaku beach on Molokai!) As a nature lover, Sue joined a whale watching team; Jan to mid March, Sue spends four hours per week observing and tracking Right Whales (an endangered species) migrating from Newfoundland to Florida with their calves. Conservation of these magnificent creatures is the goal, and helping with that effort is so satisfying. Ralph is an aviator with ratings in gliders and single-engine aircraft. He enjoys renting a plane and soaring into the sky. A big incentive for him (Sue too) to move to Florida was to view the Kennedy Space Center and witness shuttle launches, a highly recommended activity.

We stayed here on our honeymoon, and I was finally able to relax after all the stressful wedding planning. It's impossible to relax in Waikiki, and we take vacations to relax! The property is beautiful of course, with the walk to the beach a perfect distance. We thought both the dry and wet sides of the island were both beautiful. The pool was also perfect for relaxing when I'd had enough sand. Everything was very clean, and the property manager was very nice and helpful, and gave us some local fruit including a huge avocado!! We had so much fun cruising in our rental car, finding small beaches, and climbing rocks. We also took the mule ride, and saw our guides at the bar. Local hangouts were so much fun (our guide playing the spoons to get free beer!). We cooked a lot of our own food, and found everything we needed right in the condo. I can't comment much on restaurants, since we decided to cook most of the time. All in all, we can't wait to get back someday! When we've saved enough to fly our kids there, there will be plenty of space for everyone in this condo.

We love Molokai and felt right at home in your condo. We spent our days walking the nearby beaches and relaxing on your lovely lanai, which offered privacy and cool breezes. The quiet pool felt like our own as it was only steps away from the condo. Your well equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our meals as simply or extravagantly as we desired. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven.
