Windsong is a small lakeside town home community, not a resort. Enjoy the amenities of an upscale resort without the noise and crowds. Indoor Heated pool, (open seasonally), a year around sauna, charcoal grill, picnic tables and firepit are across the driveway.

Gitchi-Gami State Trail is at the top of Windsong Drive, walk or ride bikes to Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls. Palisade Head and Tettegouche State Park are a few miles up 61. A spur trail from Cove Point offers access to the Superior Hiking Trail, hike for miles through forests, along ridges, rivers, waterfalls and lakes. Winter guests enjoy miles and miles of nearby cross country and snowmobile trails. The midwest's best downhill skiing is just 40 minutes away at Lutsen. Gooseberry Falls park and Split Rock both have beautiful, groomed cross country ski trails, we use them to snowshoe too. There's nothing like spending time on foot, skis or snowshoes in the woods in winter. It's good for your body, mind and soul.

The property is gorgeous! Love all the windows with the light streaming in. The place is beautifully decorated. It was one of othe highlights of our trip. And it is near so many parks for hiking and sight-seeing. We wanted to stay the entire week!

Owner response: We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay Cheryl. You are right, Windsong in Beaver Bay is a sweet spot on the north shore with so much to do nearby you'd need a week to see it all. And the windows, they're what sold us! They bring the drama of the lake and sky in and when the weather allows, the sound of the waves too! It's a joy to hear people enjoy it so much. Please come again when you can stay longer!

Mt wife and I stayed at this town home over Mother's Day weekend 2013. We have been vacationing the North Shore of Lake Superior for the past 7 years. This property was by far the cleanest and best furnished town home that we have ever stayed. Because it is privately owned, the condition is a perfect 10. It is a great location with awesome views of Lake Superior. Most places we have stayed in the past have average beds at best. This being privately owned the beds were very comfortable and a good nights rest after a day of hiking and sight seeing is very important. The location is excellent with rock and pebble beaches within minutes of the town home. We also enjoy hiking to waterfalls. Gooseberry falls and Illgen falls are high on our recommendation as we spent hours at these two sights. Overall our our 3 night stay was a perfect 10 and look forward to staying again next year. The owners are excellent communicators and make sure your stay will be a pleasant one. This property is exactly as advertised!

Owner response: Wow, these are some very kind words and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay. It is gratifying to hear you were so happy and comfortable while staying in our home. We put a lot of effort into making it comfortable, especially the beds. You're right about how important a good's night sleep is when you're exhausted at the end of a day hard at play. We've had people ask us the brand of the bed, they wanted one for their own home. There's so much to love about the Beaver Bay area and lots to explore, we hope you'll come again, we'll be ready for your return!

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful home on Lake Superior. The condo is so comfortable; the kitchen has everything you need and then some. Cleanliness is a top priority and much appreciated. The lake views are terrific. We made good use of the gas fireplace as it was quite chilly during our stay. Access to walking trail is a bonus. You can walk into Beaver Bay and take advantage of their delightful restaurants. We were so pleased to find such a nice place to stay along the beautiful North Shore.

Owner response: We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our home. You are, the lake views are terrific. We keep thinking we'll get used to how mesmerizing that lake is, we never do. Proximity to trails, parks and restaurants was a big reason we chose our home, Beaver Bay is just so convenient, and pretty! You wouldn't think that the fireplace would be such a bonus in May but then again, it is the north shore, we are glad you enjoyed it. Your timing for waterfall viewing was perfect, the rivers are really roaring this spring. Please come again in another season, it's pretty there year around.

We arrived Friday to a sunny view of the lake through a wall of windows. The home was close enough to hear the waves against the shore! Everything in the kitchen was easy to find and dinner was served within sight of the lake. Actually, nearly every room could see the lake! Saturday we ventured out for some snowmobiling (Noth Shore Trail access without trailering), walks and board games. There was a good selection of movies on site. Sunday we went to brunch before a few more miles on the snow and a killer game of Uno. The lake calmed down enough that we watched it freeze over in a matter of hours. It was a great weekend we would repeat in an instant! Thank you!

Owner response: We're happy to hear your spring break weekend of snowmobiling was enjoyable. This has been a great year for winter sports enthusiasts which is great. All that snow bodes well for spring waterfall touring, the rivers should be roaring soon. We hope you'll return, there's always lots to see and do in Beaver Bay.

As soon as my family and I arrived at your home we could tell right away it was going to be a wonderful weekend. The cabin is so well decorated and arranged not to mention the wonderful view of the lake it just felt so welcoming. Our days consisted of snowmobiling on the local trail system but at the end of the day it was so nice to return to the cabin and enjoy warming up in front of the fireplace as well as relaxing in a fantastic jacuzzi. Thank you for for the opportunity to enjoy your home it is something we look forward to doing again soon.

It's great that you had such good snowmobiling conditions that it kept you outdoors during the days. Making a cozy, comfortable place to come back to after a hard day at play was our goal. We hope you have a chance to come stay during another season, it's always beautiful on the north shore.

The views were fantastic, the place was immaculately clean and well furnished, the pool and sauna were a nice bonus, and the local dining choices were plentiful. Everything was ready for us when we arrived and all possible questions were anticipated and answered with instruction sheets throughout the house. Even so, the owners did a great job staying in touch with us before, during, and after our stay. We went just as a couple, but the downstairs bedroom and bath would be a great option for one or two kids. And this would also be a great jumping off point for Split Rock, the Superior Hiking Trail, and numerous other state parks. You could even plan a day trip down to Duluth or up to Grand Marais from here. If part of the reason you are going up north is for a little solitude, this is a great option. You really won't be disturbed by anything other than the sound of the wind and waves.

Owner response: It is so good to hear you enjoyed your anniversary trip. We love Beaver Bay for the reasons you mentioned, proximity to 3 great state Parks and being within walking distance of wonderful local restaurants is great. We heard the waves were really big that weekend, right in time for another anniversary, the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The sound of crashing waves is amazing, it's hard to believe it's a lake! We hope you can return, it's a great getaway in every season.

Our family for 5 enjoyed staying here over a long weekend recently. Instructions were easy to follow to get there. were pleasantly surprised by how nice this unit was. I would say the pictures did not do it justice. It is very tastefully decorated and the views are great! Also once we got there it was easy to operate all appliances, TV/DVD player, fireplace etc... The pool is small but very nice and located right across the parking lot from the townhome. Our younger kids used it a lot! Perfectly located for day hikes to the various state parks on the North Shore. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable - especially nice was the in-floor heating in the bathroom! The couch is not a pullout but our youngest slept here. There is apparently an inflatable mattress also but we did not really look for it. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Owner response: We are happy to know your family enjoyed your long weekend. We've heard that the photos don't do it justice before, that's nice to hear. It's always fun to be pleasantly surprised! Being so close to the north shore's favorite parks, Split Rock, Gooseberry Falls and Tettegouche is one of the main reasons we chose to own here. Please do come again, it's a great get away year around.

Beautiful condo and perfect location. From the time I opened the door, I know it was going to be perfect. You can see Lake Superior right when you enter. You can tell that the owners really take pride in their condo as it was extremely clean and the furnishings were very nice. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and relaxing to the sounds of the lake. We had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend up north. Will definitely return.

Owner response: We fell in love with the view of the lake the moment we walked in the door for the first time too! The wall of windows facing the lake is our idea of High Definition viewing. Add the sound of the waves and it makes for great entertainment we never get tired of. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and plan to return. We look forward to having you "stay with us" again.

My husband and I were so lucky to find this gem! The location was perfect and the property was BEAUTIFUL. It was such a treat to watch the sunrise every morning, what a way to start the day. Jo was so easy to work with and we want to thank her for being willing to share her home. So cozy and comfortable, Jo has thought of everything. We can't wait to return!

Owner response: The sunrises are indeed spectacular. Coffee on the deck as the sun peaks over the lake is my favorite way to start an up north day. We are so pleased to know you enjoyed the view and the location, that's why we chose the home and it's our pleasure to share it. Please do come again, it's beautiful in every season.

You can walk or bike there on the Gitchi Gammi bike trail that starts at the top of Windsong Drive. It offers tours of the lighthouse and the keeper's house along with a fabulous visitor center on the history of Split Rock, it's a must see. "

A beautiful lakeside trail hugs Lake Superior's shore and offers stunning views. There are several decks along the trail, perfect for a picnic. Go inland and hike to the Baptism RIver Falls or historic Tettegouche Camp. There is also a new visitor center under construction that promises to be just a beautiful as those at Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock State parks, Minnesota does parks VERY well. Our home is within 10 miles of three of the best. "

Try the lake herring, if you look out the window from our home early in the morning, you may see it being caught by a local fisherman, it doesn't get fresher than that!"

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2005

About the owner: We love the North Shore any time of year but much to our surprise, Winter is our favorite! We are snowshoers and we find that we are often the only ones on the trails, LOVE the solitude! We marvel at how the view changes when the foliage is gone. It's incredibly beautiful, we hope you'll try it on one of your visits. You can rent snowshoes at Beaver Bay Sports 2 miles away.

Why the Owner Chose Beaver Bay:
Beaver Bay is easy to get to from the Twin Cities and it's a beautiful drive. Of course the view of Lake Superior was a huge draw for us, it's hard to believe it's a lake! Listening to the waves hit the rocks, watching the sun come up over the lake, stargazing over a pitch black lake, it's a soul refreshing place.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
This home is such a wonderful retreat, when we step inside, the weight of the world lifts off. We really enjoy the proximity to so many incredible State Parks. Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock and Tettegouche are all within 10 miles. The Superior Hiking Trail and state park trails take you through forests, along rivers, past waterfalls, to inland lakes and along Lake Superior. If you prefer a stroll or bike ride to a hike, you can walk or bike ride for miles along the shore on the Gitchi-Gami State Trail at the top of Windsong Drive. Golfers, enjoy Lutsen's Superior National Golf course 27 holes of spectacular golf just 40 minutes away. The best downhill sking and snowboarding in the Midwest is also 40 minutes away at Lutsen Mountains. We never get tired of this place.
