What a beautiful cabin in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful area! This cabin has a wonderful "home-away-from-home" feel. It is beautifully decorated and fully furnished. Anything one could possibly want or expect from this cabin is available. Thank you, Rebecca, for thinking of everything! I have stayed at this cabin on numerous occasions! My husband and I have spent a quiet weekend here celebrating our anniversary, we have brought our children here for quality family time, and we have brought friends here for rest and solitude. I have even brought several of my friends for a weekend spiritual retreat. It was the perfect place for planning our Bible Study for the coming year. We had great meals that we were able to prepare in a fully furnished kitchen as well as using the propane grill; we had great fun chatting on the porch with the porch swing and rocking chairs, under the pergola at the picnic table, and in the hot tub. We also had wonderful fun exploring nearby falls. My children have always loved the loft bed...a sort of hiding place for them...and what could be more fun than a tepee? I have always been amazed at the solitude of this cabin, I love being in the woods and turning off the main road and driving through the woods to get to the cabin certainly adds to the feel of solitude. While the main road is slightly audible from the outside of the cabin, it is certainly not distracting. It is wonderful to sit outside at night around the fire pit and hear the peacefulness of nature all around you. The hot tub offers a perfect place for relaxation. What a treat to be able to sit, gaze at the sky, and see what I can't in the city...the clearest sky with the brightest of stars! Absolutely breathtaking!! I have recommended this cabin to many friends and will continue to do so. My family loves coming here and my friends have as well. In fact, we are returning in April...and I can't wait!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

My friends and I stayed two nights in this beautiful cabin nestled on a beautiful lot. The first night we arrived at 6pm and turned hot tub on and it would not heat, called several times for assistance but to no avail, finally after just gave up and went to bed around 1 a.m.. Totally enjoyed the cabin on Saturday, hot tub was hot that morning and we spent Saturday night in it also. Went to bed and woke Sunday morning to no heat. Thermostat was set to 72 but no heat and no air blowing out of vents. Very cold..could hardly move after waking...burrrrr. ..Other than these glitches we all had a great time...The cabin is very beautiful and stocked with everything you'll need ...great movies that came in handy on the first night!! Loved the rockers and swing on the front porch and the decorations.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

To celebrate my graduation from college at age 48, I planned a girls weekend get-away. We chose this cabin after reading the reviews and the pictures looked wonderful. The cabin itself is pretty neat. Upon arriving at the cabin, it was discovered that our plan to relax in the hot tub would not happen. The hot tub water was very cold. We could not get the hot tub to turn on and had to call Tracy to find out how to get it going. She was kind enough to return my call and explain that we had to turn the breaker on and off if pushing the button wouldn't work. It took over night to get the water hot enough to get into which was very disappointing. The microwave oven had a trick of its own as it was not working and the outlet behind it to the left had to be tripped back on to get the microwave and the kitchen sink light to work. It is closer to the road than I would have preferred, and the fireplace is not allowed to have wood in it, but a "Duralog" is okay??? I thought that was odd. Our last night there was relaxing in the now hot tub, and we went to bed only to awake at 1am by the CH/A unit humming louder than before, and we all realized we were very cold. Thermastat was set at 70, b ut inside temp was 60 degrees. My husband and I had this same thing happen at home and we found out that the capacitor was bad on it. I turned the unit off just in case it might be frozen up. I left it off for three hours and turned it back on, but it never heated up and there was no air blowing from the vents. All-in-all it is a nice cabin. It is very well decorated and stocked with pots, pans, dishes, towels. It is clean, too. I left Tracy a voicemail and told her that the CH/A was messed up and requested a partial refund for the disappointment of a cold hot tub and one cold night. Tracy returned my call and said a maintenance person looked at the unit and there was nothing wrong with it. I am not an argumentative person, so I just thanked her and hung up. Four women experienced a very cold night in a house with a working CH/A unit? Good vacation for a get-a-way weekend. Not worth the money for what we experienced. We won't go back but it wasn't a total loss.Owner response: First of all, I would like to say that our goal is for ALL our visitors to have a wonderful experience visiting our Beautiful very well kept Log Cabin. Though sometimes there are things that happen that are out of our control, and sometimes no matter what we do to please people, there are some you can not satisfy. In this case it is obvious that there must have been a surge of electricity that tripped the breaker for both the Microwave and Hot Tub. No matter how hard we try, these things are out of our control. As for the Central Heat, I was told that they heard a different sound in the unit than they had heard before so they turned off the heat. I immediatly called a Professional Certified HVAC Technicial, and after thourally checking out the system, he could not find anything wrong with it. He said what they heard was the System going through a Defrost cycle, which is what a Heat Pump does. I hate the fact that they turned off system and they say that it was very cold. Thank God the tempatures only got down to approximately 57 degrees that night. Our Policy states very clear that we do not refund monies for things out of our control. God Bless!

We really enjoyed this cabin near Helen, GA. There was enough space for our family of 6 to spread out. 10 people could easily have fit. The cabin is well-kept with a lot of updates. It was clean and comfortable. Most everything we needed was available. The hot tub was well-kept and clean as well. There were even some toy bins upstairs that thrilled our boys. We travelled with 4 children ranging in age from 3-11. They all said they never wanted to leave. A few things to note that are not apparent from the description: the other cabin on the property (the cozy cottage) is right next door. That is wonderful if you want to rent both. There was no one there during our stay so we had plenty of privacy. Also, the bunk beds in the cabin are located in the master bedroom. Our kids loved the well-maintained yard, the paths in the woods, the hot tub and the fire pit. The drive into Helen was about 10-12 minutes. There was no internet access or phone and our cell phones (AT&T) did not have service at the cabin. So you may feel a bit cut off from the world, but that's what vacations are for, right?Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our weekend vacation in mid-March was a surprise b-day party for my mother-in-law. It was truly an amazing weekend! There was so much to do at the house that we spent a lot of time just hanging out. The guys really enjoyed the horse shoe game. The kids LOVED the trampoline. The porch with all the rocking chairs was a huge hit for the ladies and the babies (we had three)! Found a cute little ring on a string game that was unexpectedly fun. The hot tub on the crisp evenings was awesome and the men built a fire in the pit every night! We rent vacation homes about 5 times a year and this one by far had the most activities I've ever seen! Helen was great too and the drive through the mountains was good for the soul. Got great pictures of the whole family on the front porch... Memories that will last a life time! Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

WOW!! What a way to spend the weekend. We had 12 females ranging from 4 to 70. The place has a warm, cozy feeling but is big enough to get away from each other if you need too. Will highly recommend for a weekend or a longer period of time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

We love the homey feel of the cabin but it had a few maintenance problems. We arrived after dark and all the outside lights were burned out, making it very difficult to find and see the numbers on the lock box. The bedspread in the master bedroom smelled musty.Thing that put me over the top was when I saw a roach run by on the inside of the oven temp control screen, and a dead roach on the dining room floor. Outwardly, the cabin was very nice, but I cannot get the roaches out of my mind.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: THE STRANGEST THING ABOUT THIS REVIEW, IS THE FACT WHEN THEY RETURNED TO ALABAMA AFTER THEIR VACATION AT OUR CABIN, SHE CALLED AND WANTED TO RESERVE A WEEK STAY FOR A FUTURE DATE. AFTER GIVING HER THE WEEKLY RATE, SHE WANTED A LARGE DISCOUNT, WHICH I WOULD NOT AGREE TO.... FUNNY THING IS SHE NEVER MENTIONED ANY OF THESE THINGS...THEN SUDDENLY ,THIS SHOWS UP ON THE REVIEW. This is a Beautiful and well maintained Cabin. Never, I mean Never has there ever been roaches in this Cabin. We have it sprayed by a Pest Control Company every quarter. In Fact, it had just been sprayed the week before this renter had stayed. I am not sure what they seen, but we did send the Pest Control person back out to spray again. We replaced the Comforter on the Master Bed with a New one even though we did not find any odors. It is so hard for us to know what lights are burned out since we clean it in the day time. We appreciate all the feed back we can get, because we want your vacation to be one to remember. We have a lot of repeat customers that Love this Cabin. Please feel free to call or email me to ask any questions. God Bless!

About the owner: I am a true lover of anything old west. This Cabin has brought so much joy to our family. We have watched our children grow up vacationing here. Now they have a love for the outdoors, not to mention cowboy's & indians.
Why the Owner Chose Helen:
I have been visiting North Georgia since I was 8 and never grow tired of the beautiful scenery & mountains.
When I got married my dream was to have a special place nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. I love coming back to my childhood stomping ground.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
For a while we tried to find all of the hidden water falls... so many we gave up. Horseback riding? Take a pick. Love Chatahoochee Stables for a sonset ride looking out over the famous sacred Indian Mound, or Sunburst Stables just 4 miles away. Want a cold treat? We highly recommend you visit Skylake Country Store - an Old fashioned Ice Cream Parlor. Love to go fishing or swimming... no problem. Lake Burton or Lake Rabun within 12 miles, or take the pick of any stream from here to Helen. Smith Lake at Unicoi State park also offers Hiking, canoeing, dining and swimming with a private beach. Don't forget Fred's Famous Boiled Peanuts..the BEST!!!
Helen has it all. Tubing, indoor go-cart, bear park, Putt-Putt-golf, shopping, Hoeffers Baker & Habersham Winery. I cannot forget the famous 'Mark of the Potter' near the Cabin. I know you will enjoy our cabin as much as we do.
