Vacation in paradise on Tenth Street
Vacation in paradise on Tenth Street
Heather, Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. This was my first vacation to Key Colony but some in the family have been here for many years. When looking for a rental I was told by the family 3 bedrooms, Cabana Club membership, even number home and between 7- 12 street. They also wanted close to opening of canal. This home checked all our needs.Even though it was a duplex we never heard the people next door. I had a dream kitchen which was better stocked then my own. My youngest (25) had internet and the oldest (27) had room for his 13ft Kayaks and diving gear in the garage. We loved the daily happy hour at the Cabana club and met some new friends.Never have to get out of the water the staff brought everything to you. Fun, Sun and a cold drink in the Ocean this is paradise !! We ended up having dinner with the the friends from the club at their house. They went fishing and had a lot of fish which The Key Colony Inn prepared for them, good to know they do that. I have no complaints and am looking forward to visiting for many more years. The only suggestion is maybe a blow dryer and beach towels. I did bring them but it would of been less to pack.Had dinner ( Happy Hour) at Sparky's 25 cent wings and shrimp the family ate for less than $27.The special drinks have no price so make sure you ask because my $5 drink the waitress guessed on was $7.50. Went to No name pub on the way to Key West $$ just grab a beer and spend $ in Key West.I did here the pizza is worth it. I saw the $11 burger and decided to save the money. Went to Sunset Grill near 7 mile bridge on the way home from Key West. Great place to take the kids if they want to swim while you eat. The whole restaurant is open and has a great view for the sunset. Just get there early. It was great we were close to Key West but yet we felt so far away from the craziness. Rented a boat for 3 days (Jerry's) our jet skis broke down. Well worth it just to go to the reefs, sunsets in the gulf and fishing. It was rough at the reef and you need a boat bigger than 18 ft to make it 8 miles out. Marie and her husband were right there if we had a problem. They checked on us the night we got there. Beds were so comfy and so were the linens. Thanks again to both Heather and Marie for a great trip. Wish we had more than a week because we felt it went by too fast.

Another fantastic year in the Keys! It feels like we come home every year, thanks so much for sharing your home in Key colony Beach. Also we tried Sparky's for the first time, the food & service was outstanding. Will be a regular customer when we are there. See you next year!

We have rented many houses and condos over the years and I must say this was the best yet. Extremely clean and very well equiped. Great location, very convenient to the public boat ramp. Thank you for a great week, hope to come again next summer.

Nice and clean
Nice and clean
Great place! We stayed here during Thangsgiving week which is traditionally a slow week. Loved the kitchen set up as it seemed to have everything you needed if you wanted to cook. We only had two couples and the only comment is that the third bedroom is really set off from the main bathroom. Rental agency was nice to work with except the cleaning folks required checking out by 9 am and we had directions to do the linens...beds, towels, dishes/etc., which was somewhat difficult unless you got up early. Also there wasn't laundry soap. Glad we had brought some for cleaning our clothes which we used to clean linens. You would think they would supply such, since the cleaning fee is one of the highest on VRBO KEy Colony rentals. We would consider renting it in the future.

Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: We love islands, fishing, beaches, and seafood. The Florida Keys have all of this and more.
Why the Owner Chose Key Colony Beach:
In 2005 we found vacation home paradise in Key Colony Beach. We adore this community because its quiet and offers all the amenities of a small town. The little post office and shops are quaint and friendly. And, best of all, Key Colony is close to other major islands....Key West, Islamorda, Key Largo for more sun and fun.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love go to Sparky's grill and bar (try the Mahi tacos!) for Happy Hour or dinner after a long day of fishing! The Stuffed Pig is one of our favorite breakfast joints. We also enjoy family walks around the island, to watch the sunset, and along the scenic Seven Mile bridge. Key West is an easy drive but, if it's during holiday season, be sure to allow yourself extra time for the traffic. Keep your eyes out for lots of wildlife! We often see large iguanas, manatees, sea turtles, dolphins, and many beautiful birds.
