The cottage lived up to every detail in the ad. The island is truly beautiful, quiet and serene. The cottage was roomy, clean, comfortable and stocked with all our needs. We enjoyed seeing all the wild life including deer, fox, hummingbirds and bald eagles right outside the cottage. This is a great place to get away from it all and truly enjoy all that nature has to offer without the noise and business of everyday life. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to relax and get away from it all.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 11/12

A big Thank You goes out to the Cook Cottage owner, for our amazing vacation memories from last summer. We spent a glorious week at this cozy, well-equipped 'home-away-from home', with our daughter. The location couldn't be more perfect, as we were able to see freighters pass by in the straits from the dining/living room! And the huge sliding glass door gave us a front-row seat to all that Mother Nature created. We saw plenty of deer, a few loons, and even an eagle! The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for the week. The 2 bedrooms were comfy, and my daughter really enjoyed the top bunk bed. We liked the open layout of the cottage, and the lighthouse theme was a nice touch. The sunrise each morning was spectacular! My daughter especially enjoyed being at the beach - no driving required! The rocky beach didn't deter her either, as she spent HOURS exploring the rocks, water, frogs, crayfish, etc. in her water shoes. It was great to 'unplug' from our hectic pace and just relax in the covered porch swing. We haven't ever seen so many stars at night - we even saw part of the Milky Way! Exploring the island was a treat too! Although we cooked most meals at the cottage, we had an occasional trip to 'Hawk's Landing' for their great pizza! And the dock at Mary's Lake afforded us a few fishing adventures as well. All in all, our experience was amazing/unforgettable/etc. Upon leaving, our daughter asked when we could go back. And we're planning to come again!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

To say I loved this place is an understatement! My favorite time of the day was the morning I'd make coffee and go out to the lake to watch the sunrise. Soooo peaceful. This is definately a great place to get away from it all. Great bike riding and nice people all over the island. If you like riding off the beaten path - take a GPS ;-)Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

The house and property were just as the ad said. The house was spotless and very comfortable for my family of 4. The property was breath-taking and we saw many deer, and even a bald eagle. I would highly recommend this property if your looking for place to get away from the daily grind. We had a great vacation and recharged are batteries. We will be returning to this place again, of that I am sure.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 12/13
