Large and beautifully appointed, separate country 'cottage' provides you with all the comforts of home in the midst of the amazing wine country of Sonoma and Russian River Valley. You can rent the complete upstairs one-bedroom unit (for one couple), or add on the second downstairs bedroom (for another couple or family members) for just a fraction more.

The kitchen is fully stocked for the gourmet cook, and offers both gas and charcoal grills for staying in and BBQing on those long, warm Summer/Fall nights. The deck has an eastern exposure -- perfect for sipping a cup of Peet's coffee (provided) and watching the hot air balloons take to the sky. And the private jacuzzi is a wonderful place to unwind and count the endless number of stars.

A vineyard of pinot noir surrounds the gated five-acre property, providing views in every direction. 2011 marked the year of our first harvest -- It was a beautiful event for us. Now the wine is in the bottle and will be awaiting your arrival to provide you with your first taste of this incredible area.

You will feel like you are far away from it all, when actually charming Windsor is only 2 miles away, and the lovely town of Healdsburg, with incredible shopping and dining, just 5 miles.

This is some of the most enchanting cycling country you will ever experience, and if wine tasting is your thing, this property is at the gateway of Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys.

We spend time with our guests, when we are in town and upon request, making recommendations for wineries and restaurants, along with the many other activities this area offers. We want you to leave here feeling rested, relaxed and full of wonderful memories to reflect upon! Don't hesitate to call us with any question. Cheers!

After a long search, I found this gem of a rental property. Just standing on the deck to gaze on the rows of pinot noir clones was a gift. The four of us spent three nights in this little slice of heaven exploring the various AVA's of the Sonoma Valley. Our gracious hosts, Susan and Ron, provided a wonderful experience and have connections to several wineries. Don't bypass their "spot on" recommendations for wine or food. And I saw the largest jackrabbit ever crossing their front yard early one morning as a couple of hot air balloons came wandering by. Close access to state parks, great place for bike rides and/or runs. We will definitely return. Although we love the zins and pinots, next time we are going to dedicate a little more time to simply exploring the area.

Read the long line of very impressive reviews and we can add to that consensus. We stayed last week at the Cottage and used the downstairs apartment for the 4 of us. The place is extremely nice with all the amenities that you would expect and want. The views of the vineyard are breathtaking. We especially like the closeness to all the major wineries while also being a short distance from downtown Windsor which is a very charming town in itself. Ron and Susan have dream home that they share graciously to all. They are excellant hosts and truly nice people to get to know. We had a minor problem with heating that they took care of very quickly and appropiately. One earlier review said it all. If you are looking for a place to stay and visit Sonoma, this is where you can stop your search. Don't forget to ask them for winery recommendtions. They will give you the best. We were two retired, fussy couples. This place hit the right marks for us; we suspect it will hit the marks for most others. The owners, Susan and Ron are good people. They were easy to work with and everything was as least as good as or better than stated. They personally greeted us on our arrival and gave us a tour of the accommodations. The property location is idyllic and strategic. You follow a winding country road, drive through the gate and gaze upon a hillside of pinot grapes. You go upstairs and say "Wow" under your breadth so Susan and Ron don't decide to charge you a little more. You are in a big open space that accommodates a gourmet kitchen appropriately supplied, a dining area with a huge table and a living room area with over sized, comfortable furniture. The Peet's coffee was a mentioned treat. The bottle of Pinot from Susan and Ron was a nice surprise. The large pantry was also a surprise as it included many of the things such as seasonings and oils you either have to do without or buy at most places. Having nice bedrooms both up and down is allows the opportunity for a little personal privacy and escape for everyone. The deck off the living room is great for morning coffee, wine sipping and even a meal. Below the deck are an easy to use spa, a couple of grills and a private sitting area. The landscaping on the property is great. Enjoy the peace and beauty! When you are ready for wine tasting no need to drive much on the 101. Go back to the main road, turn right and you soon hit Eastside Road. Turn left and you are on tree-lined country roads to the Russian River Valley, Green Valley and adjoining area vineyards. Turn right and you easily access Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and adjoining vineyards on both sides of the 101. We tried to do too much each day. We hope to be back next year with a new plan. We will add a day. We will do a morning tasting and an afternoon tasting. We will do lunches at Korbel on River Road, Johnny Garlics in Windsor and some place on the square In Healdsburg. We will return to the cottage to sip some newly purchased wine, enjoy the spa and property and cook or grill. Ask Susan and Ron for their vineyard recommendations. We enjoyed and had special experiences at Lynmar Estates and Passalacqua because of them. We did the Paul Hobbs small bites pairing experience which was exceptional. It requires an advance reservation and we feel we got good value for what we paid. Enjoy!

We just spent a week at this incredible cottage and I just can't stress enough - don't look any further - you will LOVE this place. It is beautiful inside and out (its even better than the photos!) - your hosts are amazing and so helpful. You are truly minutes from town (we walked in for breakfast one day) yet immersed in wine country. We had never been to the wine country and were so pleased to find we were not only minutes from Windsor but also minutes from Healdsburg, Guerneville, Geyserville - all the great little towns. The bed is fabulous - lots of room and amenities - the kitchen is perfect whether you want to just snack on fruit from the farmers markets or fix a full dinner! The Big Screen TV was great to finish watching the US Open - and a couple basketball games while kicked back on the comfy couch. Other reviewers have said it - you will NOT be disappointed. I know we will most certainly be back and will send our friends here as well!

We absolutely loved our time at Old Camp Vines, what a beautiful place and the surroundings are beautiful as well. The vineyard is awesome and makes for a beautiful walk in the evening. Every morning we were there we watched a hot air balloon go right over our deck.....loved it!! We have visited wine country about 9 occasions, and this trip was spectacular. We were celebrating Chuck's 60th birthday and the entire vacation was a 10! The wine "cottage" was beyond my expectations, and we have rented a few VRBO prior. We watched the Tour Of CA Bike race, wine tastings, a road trip to Jenner, and relaxing eveings in the fantastic home. The photos are just a hint of how wonderful the wine cottage is, you need to see this place and relax! We had the best vacation, come and enjoy!! Our hosts were very gracious, and the cats were also! Thank you Ron and Susan.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay at the cottage for about a week to celebrate our 5 yr anniversary. It was truly a dream come true! Ron and Susan were very hospitable from our personal welcome message to surprise anniversary champagne. The location is centrally located to just about everything from the town square, to multiple wineries and everyday shopping needs. The cottage is VERY spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. We look forward to visiting again and highly recommend the cottage to anyone interested in planning a trip. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.-Thank you Ron and Susan for making our visit to California everything we hoped for and more!

For starters, this is a great location. There are many wineries in very close proximity and it is an easy drive, (or cheap cab ride), to downtown Windsor. The cottage has gorgeous views of the mountainside and a vineyard, making it a very peaceful and relaxing place to be. The layout of the cottage makes it very comfortable for 4 adults, while providing privacy, as the bedrooms are separated by a floor. What is unique to this rental is that Susan and Ron were exceptionally hospitable, and had great recommendations on local wineries to visit. Everything in the cottage was very well though out, and prepared, making this is a very enjoyable place to stay. Our favorites: the kitchen and the outdoor hot tub!

Wow! What a great experience we had at this beautiful property. The location cannot be beat: The stunning rural setting, surrounded on three sides by pinot noir vines, is so peaceful and wonderfully enjoyed from the cottage's private deck. And yet downtown Windsor and easy access to Highway 101 are only three minutes away -- a perfect home base for exploring northern Sonoma County. The cottage itself is spacious, beautifully appointed, and well-maintained. With the addition of the guest suite (with a second bedroom and bathroom), the property comfortably accommodated our group of three. The large kitchen with walk-in pantry includes everything you'll need to prepare meals or snacks, and the dining room and living room each seat six, perfect spots to share a meal and conversation, play a game, sip wine, or just watch the big-screen TV. The large bathroom features a double vanity and separate water closet; the bedroom includes a large walk-in closet with extra pillows, blankets, and soft bathrobes; and there's laundry facilities in the unit. The icing on the cake? The private hot tub! Susan and Ron are gracious hosts who take the time to personally share all the property's features with guests and provide recommendations for great area attractions, restaurants, and wineries to visit. This property is even better than advertised; it's an exceptional value. We hope to return soon!

                          Why the Owner Chose Healdsburg:
When we found this property five years ago, we knew we had arrived at our dream home, with enough land to plant a small vineyard. The landscaping was pretty bare-bones, so we had a wonderful time creating the garden setting that surrounds us now. After the best growing season in years, we harvested our second vintage of pinot noir grapes! We love that we feel like we are 'off the grid' when truly we are only minutes away from some lovely wine country towns -- and the wineries, too, of course! ;)
