Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible Bed(s), 3 Baths (Sleeps 8)
The Blue House on the Bluff is located on one of the most beautiful spots that the Ozarks has to offer. This lovely 2,400+ square foot lake home sits on 8.50 acres in Jordan on Norfork Lake. With 3 bedrooms and 3 baths there is more than enough room for your friends and family to enjoy the privacy and the gorgeous views. Splash into the lake or follow the path down to the white sandy beach. Atop of the amazing cliff, the view is as good as it gets, and for the more daring, the excitement of jumping is a experience like no other. Just a couple of miles from Jordan Marina, lake access is moments away.
The majority of people visiting Lake Norfork admit they come here not only because the fishing is amazing; not because the clear water and warm temperature make for great water sport action; not because of the warm hospitality they get from resort owners and fishing guides; but for something they call Norfork's Tranquility. It's something about the Ozark air with it's forest scent, the lack of noise and hustle, and the freedom to let thoughts wonder through one's mind without annoying interruptions.
The sounds of nature instead of sirens, the silky air instead of heavy smog, and the all-out fun that leaves one bone-tired at the end of the day. It is hard to define. Come experience it for yourself at the most breathtaking property on Lake Norfork, The Blue House on the Bluff!
When you stay at the Blue House on the Bluff, you are not just another customer at a huge resorts. The attraction of this Norfork getaway is the advantages of an amazing house, amazing view and the uncrowded quiet of this privately owned lake house. While thousands of people enjoy Norfork Lake every year, you'd never know it. That is because the shoreline is extremely erratic as it follows the rugged Ozark ridges and valleys.
The result is coves, creek arms, and valley runs offering a thousand secluded spots just right for escaping crowds. When friends want to gather together for a day of watersport on a common shore, there is no shortage of spots to choose from. Primarily aimed at families, fishing enthusiasts, scuba divers, water sport seekers, and those who simply want to enjoy themselves. The getaway has its own personality stemming from the operational philosophy of its owners.
Guests frequently become friends. Those who consider their first trip to Norfork tend to worry about what their children will do. But after a week they find their children are very reluctant to leave! Children greatly enjoy the freedom they experience while playing in the Great Outdoors at Lake Norfork.

Owner Description

My husband and I spent five years finding our little piece of heaven on earth. There is no place like the Blue House to take away all the stresses of every day life. We wanted a lake home for our children and grandchildren to vacation with us and we have so enjoyed our time together. In this fast paced world we live in, taking a break at the Blue House helps make life just a little bit better for all of us.
Why the Owner Chose Jordan
We looked at lake front properties in eight states and never thought we would end up in Arkansas. The natural beauty of the lake and shoreline, as well as the peacefulness of all of the surrounding pines were captivating. None of the other properties came close in comparison. When we walked down to the beach for the first time, a bald eagle was sitting on the shore - that magical moment sealed the deal and we knew this place was meant for us.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our property is secluded at the end of a long drive on 8 1/2 acres, yet Jordan Marina and lake access are just minutes away. The sunsets are breath taking and the view from the house is extraordinary. The Blue House is located on Lake Norfork which covers 22,000 acres with more than 550 miles of shoreline. The lake was created in the early 1940's with the construction of Norfork Dam. Bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, and bream are all found on the lake with almost all other varieties of fresh water game fish. Below the dam, North Fork River has a superb population of trout. The Norfork National Fish Hatchery maintains a continuous supply of trout. When lake levels cooperate, there is a meandering path to a white sand beach and a private cove to the north of the Blue House. We often bring our boat into the cove from the marina to load up the days supply before we head out on the lake. The time we spend at the lake is always too short... Lake Norfork offers water fun for everyone. We also chose not to have cable or satellite television at the house. There is a large selection of DVD's for rainy days, but television just doesn't fit into our plan for family time on the lake.

We just returned from another great stay at the blue house on the bluff at Jordan. We were just blown away last year by the house and location and came back again this year. Our boys really love the place (age 13 and 15) and asked to come back again this year. They went swimming, cliff jumping, snorkling, boating, tubing and knee boarding. The house is simply wonderful and you feel right at home, the marina is very close, there is a small convienence store about 5 minutes away also. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay on the lake.
Owner response:Thank you for taking such good care of the Blue House. You are always welcome guests!

We had a wonderful 4 days at the Blue House & it was everything that was described. If you want a get away place for friends & family to relax & experience the beautiful lake, filled with a lot of exciting things to do this is the place you are looking for. The house is so well equiped, especially the kitchen & the view is just breath taking. The mornings & evenings relaxing on the deck, watching the sun rise set & sipping on your favorite drink, has to be the best part of the trip. We had adults 31yrs to 64yrs & childern 6yrs to 14yrs & they all had a blast. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful house on the lake.
Owner response:Thank you for choosing the Blue House. You are welcome to come back and stay awhile longer!

We were anxious to arrive and were blown away by the house and the lake. It felt like home from the very first day. The kids did everything and more. We jet skied, swam, fished, rented a pontoon for tubing, etc... The folks at the jordan marina were great. It was a vacation to remember and we will surely be back!!!
Owner response:Thank you for taking such good care of the Blue House. We look forward to your return!

The picture of the sunset that is shown on this site is exactly what I looked at out the bedroom window each evening. Absolutely beautiful! The home, neighborhood and small towns were found to be just as described in the web site and from the owner of the home. The home was in impecable condition, furniture, cleanliness and amenities were well maintained and in great shape. I have already recommended this property to friends, suggesting they go as soon as possible. The lake was 10 feet higher then usual, due to the rain. However, it made jumping the cliff that much easier, I do recommend everyone jumps, just so they can say they did. What a great lake, beautiful and certainly empty of all fish the two days that we fished. Our vacation was wonderful, we will hopefully be back next summer. A vacation where memories can be made.

Blue house on the bluff is a beautiful setting for a quiet, 'get away from it all' vacation. If you are tired of the rush-rush of everyday life-this is the spot for you. Try winding through the curvey-hilly Southern Ozark trails until you come to the edge of a bluff. The house overlooks the lovely Norfolk Lake- a clear bluey green gem nestled in the mid-northern section of Arkansas. The house has everything you need, plus all the warmth and comfort of your permanent home. The spacious deck overlooking the lake is a must for coffee in the morning, watching the sun rise. A little later, hike down to the cove, and beach it in the afternoon. Shopping is also an option, with clever shops and great antiquing only less than 30 mintues away. Get ready for a great veiw and more curvey roads on the way! My vacations at the Blue House are memorable, and I am looking forward to many more..,Thanks for making such a great get-away affordable and fun.
Owner response:Come and enjoy your next vacation on Lake Norfork...unspoiled, uncrowded, unforgettable.

This place is amazing! The house has everything, and for a person that does not love lakes, Norfork Lake is unreal. The water is extremely clear and clean. It is the best place to go to relax and have fun. You can cook all your meals at the house or there are a couple really good restaurants near by. We have gone the past couple summers and will continue to go.

I have had the honor of spending 8 days at the Blue House on the Bluff the last 2 summers. 2006 & 2007, and when my family said "We're going to The Ozarks"... Being a world traveler and a spoiled So. California resident, I silently thought "whee". However, to my surprise and delight, I was blown away by the beauty & breathtaking splendor of the setting, the lake, the people and most of all this well appointed, and perfectly designed/situated house. Which feels like a home, a very comfortable, loved home. Both spacious and lovely. With sunsets that top the ones I experience often in Malibu. The grounds are well cared for & loved, peaceful and gorgeous. Now I brag about my trips to Arkansas.....and look forward to going again. Mornings and evenings on the lake front porch are close the heavenly. The town has some delightful little places to visit as well and the Marina has it all ! Don't miss seafood buffets at "Rosco's" and plan a lunch/shopping trip to "The Monkey Market"...when you're not floating, swimming , fishing or boating on exquisite Norfork lake. I am sure the cliffs around the Blue House are one of the most adventurous and stunning spots on the entire lake. I feel so fortunate to call myself a regular !
Owner response:Thank you so much! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Blue House. We do our best to make every stay as good as it can possibly be!

A group of friends stayed at the Blue House on the Bluff Memorial Day Weekend 2007. The house way beautiful, fully equipted with all kitchen utensils, applicances etc. In addition, the house showcases a spectacular view of the lake. The patio in back was large enough for BBQ's, washers, and had enough room for our friends and pets (the home is pet friendly) to relax. The home is only 5 minutes from Jordan Marina and I would highly recommend this house as a relaxing vacations spot.
